Such a cute neighborhood bar across the street from the Holiday Inn By the Bay. Sat at the bar and had a Nonesuch Red Ale (from nearby Nonesuch River Brewing in Scarborough), which was great. Bartender was very friendly.
We came here for dinner. Very small menu, not alot of choices for entrees. We had marinated olives and focaccia bread as our appetizer. I had the shrimp risotto for my dinner. It was very good. My husband had a smashburger with fries. He really enjoyed it. It was in an area that parking is hard to find. They seemed to have a good happy hour so next time we will come for that.

We stopped in while exploring the area. Nice atmosphere with very friendly staff. Nice variety of cocktails and mocktails. We had dessert and it was delicious. Went so fast I didn't get a picture.
My husband , my brother-law and I came in yesterday around 4:30. We were greeted and sat right away. We had ordered the arcani (However you spell that) and the calamari which were both so good. Unfortunately my husband wasn't feeling well so he ended up not eating that much. We both ordered the smash burger which tasted the same as a Big Mac burger from McDonalds so I would pass on that if I were you. The fires were good though. And brother in law got the salmon which was good. The service was alright. Our waitress was plain not much of a personality, she didn't come around to much to ask how everything was but hey maybe she was having a bad day. I'm glad we tried it but we won't be going back.
Excellent food. Such a treasure this little pub in the heart of Portland. We stopped in after visiting the art museum. Everything was a hit with one exception- the wings were odd. They don't separate the wing from the drumette which is awkward and super messy. I recommend the take the time to butcher them properly. Otherwise EVERYTHING was so good! Will certainly visit again! Service is friendly and low key.
If I lived locally, I would be here all the time! Little Tap House has a wonderful combination of food, drink, friendliness and atmosphere. There is enough variety on the menu, both for the beer and the food, to satisfy everyone, or to go through on multiple visits. Between us, we ordered one beer off the menu (my stout) and a flight, and the flight comes on a really cool board! I initially debated ordering the Brussels Sprouts, because I've always been told they're a winter vegetable and past their prime by April. But we ordered them anyway, and boy am I glad we did, because that sauce they're in had one of my favorite "magic" ingredients: horseradish! Believe me, I fought for more than my share. The poutine was equally good, though the gravy has a distinct taste with some extra ingredient I could not put my finger on. If we didn't have more plans for the evening, I definitely would have ordered more items off the menu (I want to come back and get a burger, for one thing). Ironically, I'm kinda glad I couldn't get a reservation for any of the seafood restaurants in Old Port this evening - I'll certainly go to some of them on slower weeknights. But otherwise, I'm not sure I would have gotten here, so I enjoyed how fate worked tonight.

Great local place. Make a reservation. Friendly and good service. Very good food. Love the locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Hubby had the hangar steak - perfectly cooked. So good! I had the halibut crazy good.

Wonderful meal and new friends. Beyond the delicious food and drinks the people make this place very special. From the moment that you walk in you're greeted and treated like an old friend whose come to visit. I ordered the Roasted Chicken and ate every bit of it. ( There's an enormous difference between farm raised roasters and grocery store fryers.) It actually tastes like rich, fresh chicken that doesn't need sauces to create flavor. The Cabernet was very good as was the cheesecake. What really stands out about this great little place are the people. I enjoyed meeting everyone and will find a way to return to Maine to enjoy the great food and new friends. Don't miss this place, it's that good.

Delicious food and fast service! Not from the area so Google was our friend this Saturday afternoon to figure out a place to eat. Unknowingly when arriving to Portland, there was a protest that many businesses were closed for so pickings were slim for food.....that being said...SO glad we came across Little Tap House! We got there (three adults) around 4p and sat right down at the bar. I wish I would have taken a photo of how MASSIVE the mussels were. They were also just so delicious. The focaccia bread that came with it?? Let it soak up that juice because yes. Just yes. We also ordered the deviled eggs, fried calamari, clam chowder and some beers. The lemon pepper aioli that came with the calamari was very good. I'd chosen the raspberry sour they just put on tap and that was very good. If I'd gotten the bartender's name, I would absolutely give her a shoutout on here because she was great as well! I'd recommend this place to others! read more
We were looking for a late meal, specifically a salad, after a few cocktails and Little Tap House just before posted closing time. The Caesar salads were fresh with a light citrusy dressing and barrata with fig appetizer were just what we needed before turning in. Our servicer (another Bar B) was friendly. The indoor dining area was more spacious than first sight and there are several tables on the sidewalk. read more

Great spot to check out before you go to a concert. Only a block away but not right on the main road so you can typically get a seat. Quite a few tables and a smaller bar. I got the lobster risotto and it was really good. Also the wine is decently priced. Service was great and quick! read more

Cute little spot with great food. We started with scallops/urgent which was delicious. Then moved on to entrees- I got the swordfish. Loved loved the sauce and swordfish was cooked wonderfully. Also got a cucumber drink which was super refreshing and light. Very nice spot to grab dinner. read more

Love this place! Looking for a drink before a show, we stumbled upon this sweet find. The atmosphere was cozy and the drinks available went from typical to some really cool specials - even the house red wine was very good! We had dinner and everyone was so nice. I need to eat gluten-free (unfortunately) and they were great about letting me know what was gluten-free as well as what could be made as such. We had a fabulous appetizer, Panelle with garlic aioli. For dinner, I had the Tap House Burger (without bread). Delicious. My husband, had the roasted chicken which was cooked perfectly. Excellent. We ate at the bar and service was perfect. Wanting to try something different and looking for a selection of Maine craft beer, we decided to give Little Tap House a shot. How could we not? Beer + homemade chips = match made in Heaven. + no wait around 1pm on a beautiful Saturday afternoon + friendly service + clean and unique environment (I'm still trying to make sense of the painted walls... they're fun) + 12 Maine beers on tap when we visited + the food was tasty AND because it's farm to table style, I was able to enjoy a mouth watering juicy burger cooked just the way I like it - the Chilaquiles lists pulled chicken as the first ingredient but there were only 4 little pieces of chicken strips in the dish. The flavor was great but there should have been more chicken and less chips. As a side note... we did provide this feedback to our server and she genuinely promised to share with the kitchen Tip- if you're looking for the place to wash your hands or "use the restroom", look for the Water Closet (WC). They've labeled their restrooms in European which may cause you to walk past it in confusion. read more

I'll get to the food and beer in just a moment. What's the true highlight here is the service. Our waitress - what a gem - from recommendations off the menu to selecting among the 20 plus local brews, she was patient, attentive and so pleasant and professional. When we had further questions out came the bartender and she nailed it from New England style IPAs to lagers to milk stouts. On to the food - such decisions to make... Fish and chips? Homemade burgers? Mac and cheese? Add the bacon and caramelized onions and it was hard not to go M&C. Made from local cheeses it's creamy and cheesy with just a hint of smoked sweetness. Yum! We sat outside on a beautiful summer evening and enjoyed the quiet Portland nightlife. And the very best - out waitress- born and raised in Portland - gave us a cheat sheet on local bakeries, beaches and lobsta shacks. We already tried two today! Thanks Tap Room for giving us some hospitality that makes Maine special. We'll be back for the fish and chips... enjoy! read more

We came here for brunch looking for a hot meal without a wait, as many other places around town were sporting an hour-plus wait. Little Tap House delivered on the lack of a line and definitely hit the spot, but the brunch menu and the food itself was nothing to write home about. The poutine & eggs were bland, and my eggs over easy were not runny at all. My boyfriend's eggs on his eggs benedict were similarly overcooked. The place was cute and cozy and the service was attentive, but I likely would not return on my next trip to Portland given the many other options in the city. read more

This place has everything that I need. :) Local and a nice list of craft beers from around the U.S. and some of the best Poutine in the state. Done. It's a fairly small space relatively speaking, but once you are inside, the focus quickly turns to food and drink. The staff here is great. It seems like a family. I see the same smiling faces every time I visit. They seem uber organized, but at the same time so casual and easy going. There is a decent bar/high top area just as you walk in. There is a TV near the bar area as well. The menu is creative and everything they prepare seems to be well thought out and crafted and when it all comes together, it feels "fancy" in such a casual environment. That's one of the things I LOVE about this place. They are active on social media posting the latest beer lists, which is usually why we end up there. AND unless I am extremely full, it is hard not to order food. This is a great place to visit before or after a show or event in Portland. While they don't have a private lot, there is plenty of pay parking nearby. Keep in mind there will be slight inclines as you walk to or from the restaurant if you walk there. So this place does happy hour every day of the week. So bonus right there. Came in for a few drinks ended up getting some food. JR the bartender is so personable and friendly we didn't want to leave. The food so good we had the mussels and they are so huge and delish. Im not a fan of licorice but was not over powering so i enjoyed. Also had the brie and was cooked perfect and we ate all of it. My husband and I needed to try a new place outside of our go-to's in Portland. We decide to check out the Little Tap House after reading their menu online. While parking isn't abundant, there is definitely more than most areas in Portland. We found a convenient spot a block away. During the warmer months, LTH has an outdoor seating area available- which in cleverly set up and I will touch on in a minute; we went inside to our our name in and were told there would be a little bit of a wait- totally fine because it allowed us to grab a drink at the bar. I ran to the restroom and my husband ordered me a wonderful gin drink- a fantastically wonderful drink called the "Back Nine" made with house infused cucumber-gin. He had an old fashioned that had house infused cherry bourbon. We were given the option to sit in or outside and we chose outside because the window to do that here in the northeast is quite short. They have the outdoor seating set up so that patrons enter within the roped off seating area and the waiters/waitresses from the outside so there isn't any awkward maneuvering around people. Quite clever I thought! The hostess, whose name I forgot to grab (she had curly blonde hair and was adorable), was phenomenal. She was warm and welcoming and charismatic. Her interactions with guests were genuine. Working in the food industry is not easy, but she was killing it as the face of this restaurant! My husband and I ordered way too much food- we started with an appetizer trio of hummus, pickled veggies and olives. I had the fish and chips (oh my goodness was there so much food!!) and my husband the pasta. We were unfortunately too full for dessert, but everything was absolutely delicious.
