I wondered, would they actually teach her something or would they artfully make what used to be my money theirs, leaving her not much more skilled than when she entered? Well, I was pleasantly surprised. In their Beauty segment, they demand that students be on time, professionally dressed, properly geared and ready to go when class begins. As part of the instruction, they discussed invoicing and tax issues and required, before the completion of the segment, that each student have their own website up and ready to promote their newly developed skills. For their Special Effects segment the dress code's relaxed but students are required to learn skills handling foam, fiberglass, plaster, paints, and flammable resins. And if you're disruptive or don't take the program seriously or refuse to arrive on time and ready to go you may be expelled without a refund as one of my daughter's classmates was. During a time when demanding petty, stupid accommodation seems to be in vogue I love that the program demands a little something from the students and in the most extreme situations will send them home if they refuse to behave like adults. And if the cost seems too much, scholarships are available. We got one from Mike Rowe!

If you can't conform to their expectations, you're left vulnerable to bullying, exclusion, and other toxic behaviors from both staff and students. Should you speak up, you're likely to be cast as the problem--just to preserve the school's carefully curated image of exclusivity and superiority. It's disheartening to consider what this attitude is doing to the industry at large. For me, it's become motivation to pursue an independent path--ironically, something they often actively discourage to keep you dependent and doubting yourself.

One of them is, foreigners with F2 visa aren't allowed to go to school if the curriculum is over 18 hours a week. I mean, if the curriculum is under 18 hours a week, I can enter a school. I wanted to go English school near my house and found this school. So I and my husband went to the school to get more information. (F.Y.I., my husband goes to another school, but I didn't want to go to the same school because if we go to the same school, we will depend on each other and I thought it isn't good for learning foreign language.) There was a Japanese office clerk and I said her, "I have F2 visa and I wanna enter this school.' She said, in peremptory tones, "Oh, foreigners with F2 visa can't work or study in U.S. AT ALL . Don't you know that?? ". Obviously, this rude Japanese clerk didn't know about Immigration Law. The person who don't have knowledge of Immigration Law shouldn't be a clerk of language school, right? This school have a lot of student who want to enter Universities in US after graduate this school, and I worry about the students. Don't lead the students wrongly!

I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Here's the same version with favoritism added:…read more I am writing anonymously as a recent CNA student and state skills test candidate at Los Angeles Career College. My California CNA skills exam was confirmed in the official TMU/Headmaster system, but days before the test the school emailed and told me it was cancelled and that it "would not take place" if I showed up. TMU told me my exam was still scheduled and even had to call the school to remind them they were required to test me. On test day there were other students testing at the site, even though the administrator had told me there was no exam and that exams would no longer be offered there, which left me feeling singled out and misled. Throughout the program, it often felt like some students received more support and opportunities than others, which gave me the impression of favoritism rather than equal treatment. The school promotes itself as professional and student‑focused, but the way my exam was handled did not feel fair or transparent. I recommend future students closely monitor their TMU account, save all confirmations, and be ready to advocate for themselves.
