They delivered as promised, as well as a few other things my insurance inspector requested. I cannot be more happy with their work. They were referred to me by a friend who had her roofing done by them. What impressed her the most was the extra-mile they took to make her happy. Surprisingly, one of the biggest challenges during my numerous interviews, was finding a company who actually knew how to install heated flooring underneath travertine tiles. So I was pleased to learn that Alpha One Construction is experienced in this. It was an extensive project that took 2 months to complete. If you've ever watched HGTV, you'll learn that with any construction projects, obstacles are bound to surface. Nothing ever goes 100% as anticipated. Key, however, is how the company goes about to resolve these issues. I can genuinely say, Alpha One Construction went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I will give one illustration of how Alpha One Construction went above their call of duty. In an effort to reduce my expenses, I opted to paint my existing kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them. Unfortunately, the brackets that were initially installed prior to my moving in were cheap quality. A year after my renovation was complete, a couple of these cheaper brackets broke. Alpha One Construction sent out a couple of their workers, who not only replaced the broken brackets, but proactively changed out all of the cheap quality brackets with the sturdier ones I purchased, in an effort to ensure that this does not happen again. This act alone is why I'm loyal to them. They take pride in their work and that's important. There are "love them and leave them" companies who will ignore you should a problem surface once they collect the final payment. Then there is Alpha One Construction who knows that reputation is everything. This is why I will refer anyone who is considering renovation work on their homes to them. Although our appointment had to be rescheduled a couple of times, when Jake came over to survey our roof, he was very approachable and professional. AA Roofing's estimate was not the lowest, but I was looking for a reasonable quote with a realistic timeline to have both the roofing and solar project done by the end of the 2025 year when the federal tax credit for solar power installation expires. AA Roofing did not disappoint! Jake was quick with the estimate and even quicker with pulling permits and the installation! As a comparison, the three larger companies could not start until 2 and 3 weeks later! We would have definitely missed the tax credit deadline! He also made sure that everything was done within the scope of the quote, and our criteria. Jake's roof tile suggestion turned out to be quite stunning and better than we expected! He suggested we use the solar company he partners with. Elione Solar was not the largest company also but had very high reviews. The speed that AA Roofing completed the roofing portion of the project was HUGE because the lead-time for the solar install is quite lengthy with the permitting, installation, inspection, coordinating with SCE to get everything hooked up into the system (grid?), and THEN FINALLY passing final city inspection. Elione also deserves high praise for their part in this project! It was close but without AA Roofing's prompt and speedy installation, it would have been a challenge if not impossible to meet the year-end energy tax credit deadline!!! For the rear part of the house, we did a "comp out" around our solar panels, which looks great. This project was quite involved, and took a very long time to complete due to our solar contractors. David was very patient throughout the whole process, and didn't put any pressure on us. Three things that I really liked: 1. Visually, the roof looks excellent. It looks much cleaner than the previous tile roof. Juan, our lead roofer on the project, as well as the rest of the team, did a great job. 2. When there were minor issues that popped up, which are to be expected with such a complex job, guys were at the house the next day to take care of them. 3. Of the many contractors that came to bid on this roof job, DT Roofing was the only one willing to actually do a true tile rest, and try and save as many existing historic tiles on our roof. Almost every roofing company that came out tried to pressure us to get rid of the existing tiles, and just buy new tiles, saying that at least 70% of our tiles were going to break when removed.
