My husband picked up food from here since it was close to our Air BnB. At first, I was kinda skeptical about a taco being $7/8, but the portion and flavor is worth it! They are not small street tacos. You could make about 2 tacos out of one, given how much filling they had. The salsa is also so tasty and has good heat, so if you don't like spicy, be a little cautious. My husband said that when he went in the evening, it wasn't too busy but staff mostly spoke Spanish, so just make sure to brush up on it or point to what you want to order. I would give zero stars if I could. I was on vacation cruising around beautiful La Jolla and stumbled upon what looked like a cute little taco shop. The inside was filthy, customer service sucked, the tacos were horrendous. The beef taco had what appears to have been brisket, but it was the texture of beef jerky and tasted days old. The chicken taco appears to have been made with bone- in chicken thigh but they didn't de-skin the chicken. I've tried this place a couple times. Unfortunately was disappointed both times. I dog sit near the area so I wanted something close by and drive thru convenient. The food is okay, nothing special. This is the only taco spot where I believe you have to ask for your tacos "boneless". I ordered 3 chicken tacos and as I was eating my second taco, I felt myself bite down on something hard. I then proceeded to pull out a whole chicken wing bone. Not ideal nor optimal. On top of that, the rest of our food was overall dry, and the water out of the Home Depot bucket tasted of asbestos or dust. Ugh. I come to SD from LA expecting amazing Mexican food at all levels. Came here as we needed a quick bite. Food was solid, Mexican fast food. I had the costillas en chile verde which were perfect with just the right amount of heat. My kids loved the huge asada tacos rice and beans. The rolled taquitos were not great, The filling was tiny and the tortilla too thick. The flying saucer was no good, the tortilla got soggy. As others have mentioned service was horrible. This is a pretty small shop with about three tables inside and maybe two outside. The parking lot is very small and limited street parking. The worker is very kind and waited for us to be ready to order. They have a lot on the menu! I got the breakfast burrito, which is egg cheese, bacon potato, and she got two tacos with beans and rice. The wait was not long at all and it was all very hot. My burrito was exactly what I was looking for: flavorful and salty, but that perfect salt amount you crave in a burrito. I found it kind of interesting. I've never seen french fries be used for the potato portion in a burrito before. Regardless it was all very delicious and I eat it all. Beans and rice were very yummy and my girlfriend devoured the two tacos . We look forward to coming here and trying more items. The very best potato rolled tacos in the city! So good, whenever I visit San Diego, this is on my list to eat!!!

I came here with my boyfriend for a quick and easy takeout dinner and we were pleasantly surprised! We got the carne asada burrito ($12.20) and the shrimp burrito ($12.40) and they were delicious and very filling. Both burritos were HEAVY. So though the cost is high, just keep in mind these are La Jolla prices and you're getting an enormous burrito. The asada burrito was loaded with an insane amount of carne asada and came with pico de gallo, guacamole (if you're trying to get a lot of protein this will do it!). The shrimp burrito came with rice, cheese, lettuce, and guacamole. Their green and red sauces on the side were also yummy :). The burritos here are bigger and more filled than the burritos from the Taco Stand and they taste just as good (but they cost about $1 more than the Taco Stand). This place is good if you want some simple, good burritos in La Jolla that are worth the cost. I saw someone else say that a lot of the negative reviews were confusing this place with another Rigoberto's and that definitely seems to be the case. This place does not have a drive thru and is next to Promiscuous Fork. It is also a minute away from the Taco Stand. It shares a bathroom with Promiscuous Fork (you have to ask for a key). The interior is very tidy and clean and the signage is easy to read. The service is fast and the workers are very polite. We will be coming back the next time we are in La Jolla! read more

The only reason I gave an extra star was for the guac....yeah there's some in there. Not only was there very little carne asada but they didn't even use French fries.
