Signed up for their 'birthday special' with my email. Received a $15 coupon (off $40 or more). Went back with my mom (literally the ONLY PEOPLE in the entire restaurant - had to call out to the back to get someone to seat us). Food was good (paid for our chips and salsa), scallops were delicious!!! Presented my $15 coupon, saw that our bill was WAY MORE than expected, but didn't want to upse my mom, so paid and left. Our Diet Pepsi's were $15/EACH! Was this bc of the coupon. I know I should have questioned it then, but a furious that I should have had to question at all. Food is good. Setting was exceptional. Service was questionable.

The Pacific Beach area is usually busy, and we were lucky that we didn't have to wait and service was excellent. They even have their own parking lot around back so that makes it less stressful to have a meal at their establishment. I also made a reservation in advance for eight people but it really wasn't necessary when we went. I think it's very different during dinner service so I still highly recommend making a reservation. They brought out chips and salsa immediately as well as water. My husband and I got there a little bit early ahead of our party so we ordered a couple of drinks while everyone else arrived. They have a huge selection of menu items for both brunch and dinner. We had the ceviche, chicharrones and guacamole. I also ordered the Yucatán salad and my husband got the seafood enchiladas. Both were excellent and highly recommend. The ambience and decor are so cute as well. They have a couple Bougainvillea trees by the entrance and beautiful, colorful murals on their building. So definitely a cute place to take pictures. Very much worth the trip if you are looking for something to eat in the area.

tldr: going to think about this place for the next year until i can return again…read more we stopped in for some appetizers and drinks after walking for a few miles visiting coronado. we needed some fuel for the drive back to the city. it wasn't a planned stop, but we happened to walk past it and decided to turn back around for a quick snack/drink (best decision) service: so friendly! from the hostess, to our server (the receipt might've said his name was angel?). he was so kind and checked up on us several times, but wasn't "pestering". whenever i started to get low on my water, he would come refill it. i watched him take care of his other tables and he was so attentive!! bathrooms: super clean! multiple stalls. the individual doors showed if they were occupied or not. and finally, the food: i told the waiter i would be dreaming about the flautas and i was not lying. he told us they just recently changed the menu and there were taquitos, but those were removed and they recently brought in these flautas and holy moly. they hit the spot. so delicious!! i almost cried. if we didn't already have plans for dinner later that night, i would've ordered 2-3 more plates of these. the salsa was amazing. not chunky, not watery. just perfect!!! had some spice but not uncomfortable. the queso was soo good too! everything tasted so fresh. food came out quickly but not suspiciously so. drinks: refreshing! i got an aloha tea and my sister got the poolside pop margarita. overall, would absolutely come back. in fact, i would come back to coronado for only this meal. 10/10.

It's more of a modern, Americanized take on Mexican food. That said, the cheese balls on my salad were absolutely delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a great atmosphere, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy a drink. The service, however, could have been more attentive. We had several different servers during our visit, so I never really knew who our main waiter was. We even had to flag someone down just to get our bill. Overall, the food was good, the ambiance was enjoyable, and it's a great place to grab drinks and watch a game. With more attentive service, it would have been an even better experience.

Was hungry for some Mexican food and am glad we came here…read more It was a very nice day so we decided to sit outside. The server came right away to take our order. We started out with the Mexican street corn along with the chips and salsa. I've always had Mexican street corn that was on the cob, but I really liked it this way. Would definitely get it again because it was very good. We both ordered the spicy skinny margarita. Best skinny margarita I've ever had. Yum I ordered the traditional cheese enchilada because that's my go to for Mexican food. So good! The flavor was spot on. Lots of melty cheese. Everything was excellent and I would definitely be back when I'm in town.

It's a cool little spot with ample seating indoors, outdoors, and at the bar. Also with really cool decor. I was staying across the street for a conference and a bit of a staycation and decided to come over here with some coworkers to relax and watch some World Cup. The bartenders here are amazing. They are great humans and really helpful in explaining the various drink specials (margarita trees are highly recommended), the local flavor favorites, and just the area itself. My coworker and I got the elote and the chicken tinga cheese crisp to share. The elote was okay. The Cheese Crisp was really satisfying, basically reminded me of a Mexican Pizza with the tortilla base. It's a cool spot to come hangout if you are the area.

Crispy fries loaded with juicy, smoky carne asada, real guacamole, sour cream, melted cheese, cotija, and then...the magic happens when you drench the whole thing in their red hot sauce. As someone who doesn't live in San Diego anymore, this is one of my mandatory stops every time I'm back. I don't care what my GPS says..we're making a detour to Lolita's. Warning: You may tell yourself you'll share. You are lying to yourself. San Diego has beaches... but I'm here for the carne asada fries.

The renovation gave the restaurant a fresh, modern look, but what has remained consistent is the quality of the food and the outstanding customer service. The restaurant is always clean, and the staff is consistently friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable, and efficient. Whether it's your first visit or your hundredth, they make the experience quick and enjoyable. My go-to order is the California Burrito, add guacamole (it's California after all, it better have avocado on it), and after trying California burritos all over San Diego, this one is still my favorite. The carne asada is tender and full of flavor, the fries are perfectly cooked, the cheese melts beautifully throughout the burrito, and the guacamole adds the perfect fresh, creamy finish. So, if you're looking for an authentic San Diego taco shop and want one of the best California burritos in the city, Lolita's should absolutely be on your list.

It was so foul tasting it ruined both burritos. The fries were also soggy which is insane. Cheese on it but couldn't taste it. Beyond that the carne didn't even have any flavor to save the day which is devastating because it was just a full waste of food and money. Maybe if they didn't saturate the burrito with the foul rotting guac they were clearly trying to get rid of then the burritos would've been edible. Trying to scrape the carne away from the soggy fries and brown rotten guacamole was irritating and didn't work. Last, the burritos were small which is insane since they're supposed to be "SUPREME" and $20 each normally. Genuinely grossed out and the red salsa also was flavorless and oh maybe a soon of sour cream. Tried guacamole from both burritos and from the entire burrito and the whole batch was nasty.
