    Tuna tostada
    Lori D.

I stopped by for a late, light lunch. Sat outside and ordered the tuna tostada. So good. I wanted another one but I was too full. Perfect pairing with a Topo Chico. Came with complimentary sauces and tortillas. Yum.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of this restaurant is adorable[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], so we came in with a larger group and the service was warm and welcoming. The margaritas were delicious, you can tell they use fresh ingredients, not any premade mixes. The food was also incredible- the tuna tostada was definitely a standout and the tacos were so good everyone ended up ordering a second round!

Yummy seafood close by the beach! After a hot day of playing mermaids with friends, a refreshing ceviche is the cherry on top for a perfect day! :) Ordered La corriente ceviche- 5/5 taste and I wish we could've gotten their tatemada salsa served in a huge tub.

The food was great! We also had the oysters, but they were a bit too salty. The tostada and guacamole were both really good. My husband liked his food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was very beautiful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was pretty friendly and decently quick.

Amazing spot with delicious food and wonderful service! I highly recommend the soft shell crab taco, carne asada tacos and the red snapper tostada. I didn't love the shrimp aguachile but I definitely want the the ceviche next time.

This spot has really good aguachile! We also got the Corriente tostada, roka shrimp, and artichoke tostada. Everything was fresh and delicious. Can't believe it's been over a year since I came. The restaurant also has a patio, which is great, since the space is kind of small. The staff didn't check on us much, but were pretty friendly. I enjoyed my time here and the ambiance was great! I need to go back soon!

La Corriente is a well placed, but slightly odd little restaurant in La Jolla. We found it going to and from our little motel outside of the village riding on bikes. It would be great if there was bike parking just as an FYI to the restaurant! La Correinte has a very small footprint on a prominent corner in La Jolla. Drinks are excellent seating is small and as per all San Diego La Jolla restaurants, they adore reservations and are a little creeped out by walk-ins. We were a walk-in so we faced the odd looks and "here are a couple of random places you can sit even though 75% of the restaurant is empty" vibes. Drinks were good, prices were appropriate. Food was delicious, but a little salty. Service was excellent. We enjoyed our time here, although we had to tie our bikes up to a nearby corner electrical unit to keep them from being stolen.

I had the shrimp pozole and the octopus with rice dish. Both were delicious! The pozole was generously filled with shrimp and the broth was very flavorful. Octopus was fresh and tender. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. Service was great. I was there for a late lunch and was seated right away. There were plenty of tables. [[HIGHLIGHT]]By 2:30-3'ish the place started to fill up. I gave driven by in the evening and this place is always full and busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is nice and comfortable and not too noisy even when it got busier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat inside because it was a rainy day. I was charged a $3 credit card fee so bring cash if you want to avoid that. I will be back to try the tacos and clam chowder next time. Saw another guests get the chowder and it was served in a bread bowl.

    shrimp aguachile el picosito

Stopped in for a quick bite and was not disappointed. I ordered the shrimp aguachile el picosito which came with tostadas. The seafood was very fresh and light and the sauce it came in was very flavorful; packing the perfect amount of spice. The portion size is perfect for a quick mid day meal or appetizer to share! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is chill and relaxed. The patio seating enhances the neighborhood coastal cafe vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10/10 would recommend for fresh Mexican style seafood!

This place has been on my list because of the octopus so of course we ordered it! It looks like there was 2 on the plate and humongous portion. It was really good, with the rosemary flavored red rice and potatoes and tortillas. The deboned branzino was also healthy and tasty, we had that with a side of red rice. The mushroom taco was soggy, so I wound not order that again. The red snapper tostada was a little bland. But overall the food we came there for was great, just wished we got more salsa. Service was great, they were very attentive. Make sure you make reservations as this is a small place.

    We loved our consomé
    Daniella S.

First I love how the place is decorated! We actually recently visited the one in Mexicali which is just as great. We were craving seafood and a nice cold one. It was so nice we got a warm shrimp consomé before. We tried a few of the tostadas , very fresh and loved the side salsas. We enjoyed our beer as well. Staff was very attentive, which is great. I would visit again.

Nothing about the taste of the food really wow-ed me or makes me want to come back. The octopus LOOKS great but it's not like it's hard to find grilled octopus. The ceviche was fine and leans more Mexican-style. I also got the tuna tostada which was decent. The salsas that come with your meal are all good and there's additional hot sauce on the table. The margarita with the Tajín rim is yummy. The place is really cute especially if they have the doors open.

Very beautiful small restaurant serving delicious mariscos to the La Jolla Community! The decor made me feel as if I was abroad. Showed up without reservation and was luckily seated immediately. The customer service provided was great. Parking can be a bit of a nag depending on the day. All food was delicious, including the complementary consome! Only downside I'd point out is the price to portion ratio was steep!

Freaking religious experience…read more You'll want to set aside a couple hours for dinner at Duke's. Not because it's outdoors and has a great vibe, and helpful, friendly servers, which make you want to stay there for hours with your family, friends, or coworkers--although all of that is true. Not because it has a gorgeous view of the Pacific--which it does. Not even because of their piña coladas! No, my friend. It's because their sautéed Mac nut & herb-crusted fresh fish with mac salad is just *so good* but if you have any reverence for all that is good and true in this world, you'll have to stop every few bites, let your eyes roll back into your head a little, and enjoy it. It's just... slow. Now. First things first. Mac nut, mac salad. One is Macadamia nuts; one is macaroni. Hopefully my team member who raved about the mac salad does not read this and realize that I thought it was a salad of Macadamia nuts. I was like OK, that sounds weird, but I do love Macadamia nuts, so let's try it. She was right to rave. It was *delicious*. In fact, I think the fish and the salad kind of ran together a bit and made each other even more delicious. Look, I'm not sure how it worked, I just know it worked. Apparently for the dinner menu it only shows rice with the fish; ignore that. Just ask them to swap it out. Speaking of lunch, I did also have lunch at Duke's once. Got fish and chips. And let me tell you, the weirdest thing: Their *tartar sauce* was off the charts. I know. Who nails the tartar sauce? But it had this perfect zing to it, as though they got an idea from the usual malt vinegar and mixed it all in there. Given the quality of what I've had do far, you probably can't go wrong at Duke's. Get a reservation, ask for an ocean view--and give yourself plenty of time.

The location of the restaurant is beautiful as you are right on the beach and you have a great view of the ocean and the seals that hang around the area. Supposedly people have complained about a "fishy smell", the ocean does smell fishy and the restaurant can't control the environment. Megan was our waitress and she was amazing. She was full of energy, polite, professional, and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. I ordered the Fig & Goat Cheese Burger, medium rare, and a Vanilla Italian Soda. The soda was refreshing and wasn't like your usual soda. The vanilla flavor was not overpowering and I enjoyed it. The wait time for the burger was a bit long, but I didn't mind as I watched the seals play on the beach. Unfortunately, the burger was not medium rare, but that wasn't a big deal as it was full of flavor and juicy. The meat itself had a nice hearty flavor that pair nicely with the goat cheese. Surprisingly, goat cheese on a burger is a great combo that brings it all together. The sweet and savory with a creamy texture made me craving for more. The bun was soft and firm as well. I ordered tater tots on the side and they were perfect. Golden and crispy on the outside while being soft and fluffy on the inside. They make their ranch in-house and it was one of the best tasting ranch sauces that I've tried. The ranch was light, refreshing, and had a dill flavor. Overall, I enjoyed my time very much. The meal was a nice refresher that didn't make me feel guilty or tired afterwards. I will be coming back.
