So let me start with the pros. 1) awesome decor and spacious 2) prices are pretty good 3) selection of food is plentiful 4) nice bar area 5) gives you the feeling like you are far away from roosevelt ave 6) courteous service Cons 1) only 2 lunch specials also called personal combos 1/4 chicken vs 1/2 chicken with either rice or fried with salad 2) the chicken was dry. And I mean dry. Other rotisserie chicken locations typically give you chicken that is moist but this one was not 3) chicken tasted over cooked 4) rice and beans lacked flavor. The beans were chalky to be honest. The rice wasn't long grain so I am not sure if its medium grain or a different type of rice but the rice didnt feel soft 5) the music is too loud. I was trying to eat lunch and literally had my headphones on high and I still struggled to hear my videos Over all it's a nice place to come by with coworkers and friends. I am very disappointed! It was the first time that I Wanted to try something different So I tried this place, the service was awful I had to wait more than 10 minutes to get my drink, and the place wasn't even busy. Tallarín verde with pechuga de pollo is all i would come back for. The Lomo was too watery the texture of the sauce forced the fries to get mushy and inedible. Sunny side does the food better. Order from them on Door dash for a party. Got 2 whole chickens and added some salt and pepper then put them heat up in the oven later. It was the biggest hit everyone said was flavorful and juicy. Got the papa a la huacania and it was good! The rice and beans when mixed together end up being delicious but not good separately. It's cheap but food is mediocre. The ambiance and finishes are nice in the restaurant. I got the 1/4 chicken combo with French fries and salad for $6.50. It's a good amount of food for the price but the chicken isn't that high quality. It's a good option if you want to save a couple bucks and want a cheap bite but that's about it. Most of the staff only speak Spanish so it was hard getting my order in over the phone. If you're looking for better quality Peruvian chicken head over to Pio Pio as it's 10x better there. read more

Mixed feelings here because of the Terrible sangria, it tested like powder something. The lemon in the pisco sour tasted like rotten. It felt a little aggressive to included 18% tip for a party of 2. I usually tip 25% specially during Covid times. I always go to good/great restaurants and never have been charged for the tip in advanced, maybe when the party is 6+. It is a shame because The ceviche was really good -I took the train from Astoria just to enjoy a great ceviche. Deelicious food! My boyfriend and I came here on Friday around 5PM. Waitresses were all very nice. I ordered seafood soup and he ordered a dish with seafood/pollo/carne yuca fries. Everything was delish! The only one complaint I would say is the salsa verde has a lot of pepper in it and they could improve that. The prices are so reasonable and the portions are big! Love the chicken and rice and beans! Great service- always on time with the delivery food.

I ordered once their lunch special got the wrong order. Then I went back order their arroz chaufa and it had no flavor. I love Peruvian food but I do not recommend this place. The chicken is ok not so flavored. But the arroz chaufa is disgusting. It tasted like old white rice. It had grilled chicken with no flavor, a few pieces of fried eggs and they put soy sauce to give it color. I put pepper and salt to eat the rice but couldn't eat it. I felt I was eating white rice with no flavor. Had to throw it out. To top it off, the total was $9.74 and I had to pay $10 because their minimum in credit cards is $10. They couldn't let it pass by .26 cents and this was before I even tried the horrible rice. I have been to the there Riko restaurants in the city, but after this experience don't plan to go to any of them again. read more

We walked in here just because we were hungry, not expecting much. We usually go to other Peruvian restaurants in the neighborhood. But the chicken here was so amazing we're going to stick to this one from now on! It really melts in your mouth. The ceviche was delicious as well. So it's Christmas Day and I was craving Peruvian food with my mans. Normally we go to this place by 82nd st with the big chicken in the front. That place is the best! Anyways, we ordered the $30 family combo which included a whole chicken, rice and beans, plantains, salad and fries with hotdogs. I was super disappointed. Me and my friend were extremely hungry so we were excited to feast. However, the rice was hard and crunchy and bland. So were the beans. The chicken was dry which had me confused because Peruvian chicken is usually seasoned and made so tender. The salad was plain, had no dressing and the plantains were not good at all. The only thing me and my man really enjoyed were the fries and hotdogs. On top of that, our overall experience here lacked attentiveness. Our waitress took a while to seat us and when we ordered, she didn't even care to bring us water until after the food was served. After that, during our meal, we were not served a refill on the water. Nobody checked on our table at all (it was not busy) I am very dissatisfied and disappointed and so is my friend. This location is rather new in my neighborhood and I made an order for delivery(which took over 1 hr. for 5 only blocks distance), so my review is based mostly on the food. First up is the Pescado A Lo Macho which is fish fillet with various seafood in spicy sauce. I've had it many times in different Peruvian places so I'm used to it being very tasteful with a kick of spice, but this one lack seasoning/flavor. Pros, the portion was very generous. Second, the Tallarin Verde con Bistec which is Steak with spaghetti in a green Peruvian style pesto. Again it lacked flavor, it's like if they forgot to season our food. The spaghetti and the steak were dry and the steak portion was rather small. Lastly, Tacu tacu which is basically refried beans mixed with white rice. This one was the only one that actually had some flavor. Cons, too soupy(maybe too much beans..?). Anyways, my first experience at this restaurant didn't impress me at all(food wise) but since it hasn't been opened for that long I will give it another try soon. Great place! We will definitely go back for some more tasty Peruvian dishes. We got the choclos con queso and papa a la huancaina for appetizers and both were great. I love the sauces! We each had a glass of wine and I got the jalea it was so delicious! My husband got a chaufa de mariscos or seafood rice which was very appetizing as well. Compared to the other reviews my experience with my family was completely different. The staff was very friendly and funny including the cook who came out to see if everything was okay. The rotisserie chicken was very juicy and cheap, I loved dipping it into their green spicy sauce. We also ordered the mango ceviche and a regular fish ceviche, both were incredible and tasted fresh. My Boyfriend had been in Jackson heights the past evening and noticed this very cute peruvian restaurant and so we made a trip the next day. We were welcomed in and took at seat at the bar. As bartenders, we headed straight to the drink menu as we always like to try new things, especially cocktails with pisco. The bartender was very knowledgeable of his bar and made us a really great drink, I love when drinks not only taste good but have a great garnish presentation. We enjoyed that there was a man playing live music on his guitar, as well as original peruvian music we enjoy in our country. I have been to other peruvian restaurants where the music is unrelated and set more accustomed to please the diverse customers than stay true to the root of the restaurant. I appreciated very much. Made the environment feel like home. Service was very attentive and super helpful. We enjoyed the food too fast and overstuffed ourselves it was really good. We plan to come back with our families as they have the space for larger parties and as my boyfriend noted the night before it does get packed in there. Truly enjoyed our date. read more

we stopped for a quick birthday dinnner. the Food was alright. prices were good. the mouse however was not a welcomed dinner guest. Four times the mouse ran out to greet us. it was more attentive than our servers and it seemed like it was used to exploring while patrons ate. almost certain one of the managers saw it, while the manager passed in between our table and the mouse. he pretended as if nothing happened. thankfully we had finished our dinner when the mouse introduced itself to us. i called the waiter and asked for the check. i said told him that seeing that mouse ruined the evening for us. his response was a simple, oh, and he scurried to process the credit cards. he brought us back the recipts and not a single apology. we didnt make a scene, we didnt ask for anything. we even paid our bill. the employees and manager just pretended as if nothing happened. at the very least they could have offered an apology. they should have apologized. what does that cost them? i know its nyc and mice are everywhere but there is just no excuse for how this was handled (or not handled rather). in the end this place showed just how much they care about sanitation and their guests. Will never order from this place again!!!!! Placed a big order of food via "grubhub.com". The food took over and hour to be delivered and when it did arrive the food arrived cold, the condiments and sauces were placed in a separate bag but for some reason all of the sauces were spilt in the bag and none were in their containers. The rice was extremely salty as if a bottle of salt had been poured over and so was the chicken, perhaps from the over seasoning. The beans were like paste. The french fries were also cold and soggy.
