I am glad I picked Rincon for an early dinner during our recent anniversary trip in Santa Barbara! A major plus, they sell food here, they have an extensive menu so it's easy to order at the bar, they bring it to your table, no hassle, running around for food from 1000 places! It might not be as trendy as other breweries in the Funk Zone area, but I don't care. Quiet and laid back was the vibe we needed! I love that they are located in an old Spanish looking house. Beautiful outdoor options, charming, quiet, great to enjoy a meal at! I don't care for their indoor area - with TV-s playing game and lacking decor. Service was great, friendly, Sam took care of us, he was nice, kind, attentive! Had their Mac Brown, a darker nice beer, smooth and started our feast with their nachos, we added chicken on which was a great decision since it was marinated and freshly grilled, you could taste the nice flavors right away. Great guacamole in top, a fun dish! We continued with the fried dill pickles (they come with Ranch and Sriracha sauce), very nice, had fried pickles before (in the South) and they were too greasy. Excellent food and service! Very pleased with our meal. I wish there was a location closer to where I live in Sacramento. Lots of beer to choose from and large menu. Did not try the food- although I assume it's the same menu as the Ventura location- and I really like the food at the Ventura one so I bet it's just as good. First time in, had a great experience! Single smash burger with jalapeños was phenomenal. Mediterranean Quinoa Salad was excellent, far exceeded bar salad expectations! Fries were tasty, too. However the two guys behind the counter were too busy (with only 2 other parties seated and eating) at 4:00. The guy behind the counter acted as if we were not there right in front of him. We were doing a walking brewery crawl up in Santa Barbara and came to this place when we were ravenous. It took a minute to be greeted, but when the bartender finally came over, she gave us a few splashes of three beers we had our eye on. They all tasted a bit similar to each other, so I got a half pint and we placed our food order. It was pretty quiet inside, and we opted to sit in the sun until the breeze became too much. We moved back in and played the ring toss connected to the wall while we waited for our food. About twenty minutes after ordering, the food was at our table. I got the barbecue chicken salad and my husband ordered the pesto chicken panini. My salad was fresh and crisp, with a VERY hefty half of an avocado, and lukewarm chicken studded throughout, with black beans, charred corn and tortilla strips. Definitely a generous serving size, especially for the price! The pesto panini was also extremely large, and overloaded with pesto. It was delicious, but took a good two hours before we had the intense flavor of pesto out of our mouths, even with the follow up wine tastings. I'd go back for the food, or to try some of their flatbreads, but the beer fell a little flat for me, and the service left me a little wanting. This place does an amazing weekend breakfast. They open at 9:00 am on Saturday and Sunday. It is a great spot to get a good "food base" if you are wine and beer tasting in the area. We randomly chose this spot in our way home from camping and scored parking in the lot! I chose to post 3 pictures of the same dang Brie garlic flatbread because the lighting was amazing and it was SO unique and savory and tasty! The roasted garlic is more like fried toasted garlic, I don't think I have ever had that on pizza, way better than what I was expecting. We ate it with and without the balsamic glaze and of course had some with the ranch side. I could have dipped that flatbread into so many different sauces or just had more on its own, it really was outstanding. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the BBQ chicken salad, the vegetable quality was on point. I took the photo after I mixed it, the initial presentation was beautiful. I got a sampler with the fruitier stuff, fruit beer, seltzer, kombucha, and a light beer and they were obviously the perfect light day drinks for our lunch stop with a side of a jumbo game of Connect Four. Went in thinking it was just all about the beer, but ended up having some delicious food as well, and with a very comfortable outdoor garden space to enjoy the Funk Zone sunshine. Entering the tap room space we were greeted by server Water Polo Ben, who got us started with very vivid descriptions of all the beers on their menu. It was kind of like "Beer Theater," as he dove into describing each one with wild abandon. At this point we were all anticipating his descriptions of the food choices . . . he didn't let us down. You had a very polite young lady working that day who I asked what the cost of a can of Athletic non alcoholic beer cost. She didn't know and looked it up. I was surprised at the $9 price and was explaining why I won't pay that price for 1 can and that we would be leaving without having anything. ( An entire 6-pack can be bought for $10 at a nearby store.) I understand all the reasons why you might think that is okay to charge this much but this is out of line. She was politely listening to me when a male employee came into the room and started I won't call it yelling but raising his voice and swinging his arms aggressively telling me to get out that I was harassing them. This guy is a time bomb waiting to go off and needs to get fired on the spot. Your male manager came into the room I assume from the noise and I then said to the polite female employee I would explain to him about the price being the manager. I asked him to please relay the message to you the owner. Your other male employee was so in my face tossing his hands around angrily that I couldn't hear most of what the manager was saying. Luckily the manger who also was very agitated and not what I would expect from a manger would only say it isn't his decision on the price and they need to make money. He did send the out of control employee to the back so I could hear. I simply asked him to relay my comments to you. Thanked him again for letting us use your restrooms before they opened and then we left. I want you to look at the surveillance tape. You can't miss me. All red shirt, Sunday the 11th Mothers Day and a baseball cap. You honestly let me know what I did wrong and I will be glad to apologize. It may have just been the day we came but this place was dead! It is in the cute funk zone part of town close to the beach and other beer and wine spots. This has a lot of outdoor seating which is perfect for groups. They have about 15 options on tap of their own beer and some limited food like flatbreads and paninis. We had their soft pretzel (2 come in an order) which was quite good for being frozen and reheated. I like the soft pretzel at Institution Ale better which tastes like they made it there. We split a pizza and flatbread and both were very fresh, made with quality ingredients and tasty. (A previous review complained about no appetizers or live music. There are COVID laws that dictate what food must be served to be able to stay open and appetizers don't qualify. Also, I learned that their liquor license does not cover live music.)
