We went to The Cruisery for my dog's 12th birthday, and I'm honestly obsessed with this place. I've reviewed this spot before, but this visit deserved an update because it was such a fun and unique experience. It's right on State Street and extremely dog-friendly--like, dogs of all sizes are welcome and actually celebrated here. Not just tolerated... celebrated. They offer dog birthday packages (yes, really), and for $49 it was such a fun experience. Lobo got a full birthday setup: a reserved table, a sign with fun facts about him, a birthday portrait, cake, a gift, and his own birthday dinner. I ordered him the filet and sweet potatoes, but they do have other options on their dog menu too. And for the humans--they don't slack either. They have a great food and drink menu. I ordered the Flaming Lips cocktail and it's such a fun one... I won't give it away, but yes, there are actual flames involved . I also got the Korean Crunch (fried chicken with red pepper sauce) and it was so good. Everyone else loved their food and drinks too... but I'll be honest, I was a little more focused on Lobo. Kyle was our server and he was amazing--super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Honestly, everything about it was just fun. It's such a unique idea, and I love that places like this exist. We come to Santa Barbara often, and this is 100% going to be a regular stop for us now. Already planning Lobo's 13th here

Food was great. Ambience very chill, welcoming, dog-friendly and kid friendly, great patio to people watch! Owner hands out in front with his pup - very cool! Food was great and drinks even better!

This place is on the corner facing State Street. There is some street parking which frees up in the evenings and a parking structure close by. We were seated right away and the hostess was super friendly. Our server was preset good, not overly attentive. My biggest issue was that after getting our apps and drinks delivered, she came back to inform us she was going on break. No big deal except she didn't ask if wanted to place our order. We waited over ten minutes for the waitress who was covering for her to come around before we could order. It was just disappointing since we had to wait so long between our waitress and the one covering. The drinks were amazing! Delicious and visually appealing. The margarita flight was a fun choice and you got decently sized drinks. The menu just got updated and was missing a few keys items. However the chicken and Brie sandwich was pretty tasty (the chicken was a bit dry). My friend hated her tacos as the meat was dry and she did not like the flavor. She ended up ordering another item. I do like that this place is dog friendly and the drinks were great. Just not my favorite place to go based on service.

It's rare to see a bar owner in the trenches with his employees. Aron is a solid dude and I will be definitely be making my way back here from the San Fernando area to chill and have some drinks. The fact that it's a super dog friendly place makes it all the better. This is a solid establishment and tyou to Aron and Jeremy for a chill time .

Ask for a puppy high chair so your bestie can enjoy being with the family, rather than hanging out with your feet!

**** dog-friendly doesn't describe it well enough! *** A perfect neighborhood place! The food is great, the service and people are inviting, friendly and the right amount of casual. The menu had a little something for everyone! Our furbaby loved being at the table in her puppy highchair, watching everyone and being part of the conversation. Zoe (our puppy!) had the turkey burger and potatoes! Delicious, Chef! I loved all the nods to the history of the building too! Thank you for creating such a perfect spot!

Rainy day plans done right Took our pups out for dinner and found the perfect dog-friendly spot. Not only is the food absolutely amazing and the service top-notch, but they welcome dogs inside And the best part? They have a high chair with a cushion for small dogs so your fur baby can dine in comfort too. Genius. Truly a brilliant idea ‍

Overall: B // 4 stars The Cruisery is a very eye-catching restaurant with intriguing decor from bikes hanging down the ceiling to the all wooden furniture. Its food is similarly peculiar as it is a fusion of popular world flavors all into one menu. I do appreciate that the menu rotates very frequently to keep things fresh, but it does seem like their menu is a bit too large and some of the items are a bit too experimental so the quality control is not fully there. That being said, some of the items I had previously were absolutely show-stopping from the Chicken and Waffles to their French Toast BLT. (Lemonade: B) - Quite disappointed they removed the elderflower or lavender from the craft lemonade that they had before as that was divine. The drink they have now now feels very elementary, although the presentation is still better than the average lemonade. (Brussels Sprouts: B) - Very oil heavy, but I greatly enjoyed the addicting chili oil flavor development playing from a mild spicy x sweet kick to enhance those crispy sprouts. I think the peanuts would add more to the dish if they were candied for flavor or crumbled for texture. (Sangrita Ceviche: C) - I like the mildly developed flavors consistent with a ceviche that is California style. The shrimp is tenderly poached to go with that delicate flavor palette. I do think the presentation is a miss as the bowl rim looks sloppy and the plantains cover the entirety of the ceviche. (Banh Mi Plantain: B) - Very intriguing one biter, but I think the plantain is used as a chip, rather than being the star with the naming; furthermore, I think the intense Vietnamese flavors that come through with the pickles and the creaminess are missing here. (Pan Con Tomato: B) - Simple bite done relatively well. The charred ciabatta does elevate this simple dish a bit. (Choripan: A) - Really enjoyed the intense flavors going in three directions -- the chorizo with that meaty intensity; the chimichurri with that fresh herbaceousness; and the garlic aioli for a surprisingly developed creaminess. Food: +1 Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: +1 Service: E Menu: +1 Overall: 4 stars Insta/Beli/Yelp/TikTok: @amei_eats

One of the best meals I had in Santa Barbara! We ordered the bahn mi flatbread which was phenomenal. Our table also got the firecracker fries which were cooked perfectly. Service was great. Would definitely come back.

I'm going to go ahead and write a whole other review... but let me just say I am so glad we gave this place another try! EVERYTHING was great ... AND no, we did not receive special treatment nor did the owner tell the kitchen that we didn't care for the food before and to do it up... They just did it up!!! I whole heartedly believe we just came on a kind of off night and our waitress was fairly new with not a ton of experience. Working with Aron, the owner, I fully expect she will be fantastic in no time. Please go try this place.

If your looking for nice place that's per friendly, look no further. Both indoor and outdoor they caters to your fur babies. We stopped in and happy hour was still going on. Which is till 7pm I believe. Menu for drinks were great. They also had small plates as well as tapas on the happy hour menu. Also, a doggy meal for the babies. The spicy prick and mango inferno were excellent. Good cocktails to start your meal. We also had the burrata which to me was almost like a ceviche as its was more watery versus it being just a lump of cheese. Still good. And the ceviche, which was nice with plantain chips. Portion was pretty small though. For tapas, we had some of the arancini, choripan and bacon poppers. These were smaller pieces but great for ordering a few to try out. I'm not much of a burger person but both the cruisery and chimichurri burger were good. Cooked well and juicy. Paired with the right condiments and served with shoestring fries. Service was really good. Our waitress was training another waitress which they were both excellent. Even when checking in, the host brought over a treat for our fur baby. Excellent service and great food and cocktails.

The cocktails are highly creative, diverse in flavor and design, and really could stand up to any you would find at a top cocktail bar in a major city. The exterior doesn't scream "must come in" but you absolutely should. Is it a tiki bar? Yes, but in the best way. And the bartender deserves applause for pulling off 3+ quite complex cocktails every 5 minutes off of memory and without any support.

In a stretch of Lower State packed with breweries, wine bars, and roaming weekend energy-drink humans in vintage bowling shirts, it threads the needle nicely between cocktail bar and tropical escape pod. The menu leans tiki-adjacent rather than deep-cut exotica, but the drinks are smartly built and avoid the "every problem can be solved with more rum" philosophy. There's a solid spread of spirits across the board, which makes the place feel more welcoming to a broader nightlife crowd instead of strictly rum disciples clutching vintage Trader Vic's mugs. The Oaxacan Dead was the standout for me. Smoky, balanced, endlessly sippable. One of those drinks where every sip quietly talks you into ordering another without turning into a sugar avalanche. The Jungle Bird was also great, though presented more in the direction of a Negroni than the punchier tropical versions you usually see. Bitter, restrained, and easy to settle into. Crowd-wise, things tilted a little frat-floaty as the night rolled on, but the staff handled everything smoothly and kept the vibe from turning into full pirate mutiny. Service stayed friendly and composed even when the volume of the room started climbing like a malfunctioning theremin. Big bonus points for the location and outdoor seating. Being right in the middle of Lower State makes it an easy launch point or final stop depending on your evening trajectory. Grab a drink, people-watch, drift between breweries and wine spots, repeat as necessary.

When we arrived on a Tuesday evening, there were about seven patrons throughout the bar and the outdoor seating area with the live music drew us in. We were told to order at the bar, so while the rest of our party was seated, I stood there for five minutes before someone took my order. Totally fine, but no sorry for the wait or even smile or any warmth from the male bartender, who disappeared for a five minute break shortly after taking my order. The tables at the outdoor seating area were very sticky and since there were no employees in sight I (and the other patrons who arrived then) cleaned the tables ourselves. After waiting 10 minutes I went up to the bar and assumed since our drinks hadn't been delivered, I was supposed to pick them up, I was told don't worry, we'll bring them to you, and after another five minutes, our drinks arrived. The cocktails were decent, nothing revolutionary but I am spoiled in this department, well made but nothing to get excited about . After 30 minutes of enjoying the genuinely nice outdoor area we ordered another round, three shots took another 10+ minutes. When we realized we had to leave to make our reservation, we asked for a box for our untouched food, and we were told we don't have boxes. They ended up finding one for For us, but it appeared to be a pastry box from somewhere else. The female bartender who took over after the male clocked out, was much more personable, but not much more efficient. To their credit, this bar has an excellent selection of tequilas and Mezcal's, so if you're not in a rush and you enjoy those spirits it's definitely worth stopping by. The music was really great and was definitely the highlight of that bar.

Pearl social is such a whimsical fun spot to grab a drink and a snack in the funk zone. We stumbled in for a late afternoon drink and it wasn't very busy inside - giving off "best kept secret vibe". The decor is very feminine yet playful. Loved the design and bar area. We opted for a casual booth area by the bar which was really nice. Also all of the little things were done well, crisp menus, clean bathrooms, and music done at just the right sound level. Their menu in the bar area for food is small but mighty - oysters, cheese plates, you name it. I'm definitely going to keep coming here for the cocktails. I've had one of the best sips in 2025 here - which would be The Mixtape cocktail. My friend told me I had to get it and I'm so glad I listen sometimes lol. This cocktail completely blew me away. The patio is in the back of Cutler's that can be entered around the corner (map on the front door of Cutler's shows the directions). The patio is next to other tasting room patios featuring wine and next door to Lark's restaurant. When we visited the tasting room at about 3pm in the afternoon, we were the only individuals there but started to fill up with other small groups. When a large group entered, the waitress said you will need a reservation as she was only wait staff there. Perhaps a sign is needed to notify people, that groups need reservations. The drinks were spot on- the drinks started at 14 dollars to about 16 dollars for cocktails. The tasting room also offers tastings of their products too. The tastings looked small. The cocktails were well poured. I was just disappointed to find out that I could not get a Bloody Mary on a Saturday- only Sundays- the Bloody Mary looked really good. If you're looking for a spot this summer with all the vibes, killer margaritas, and delicious food,…read morelook no further than Santo Mezcal in Santa Barbara. My bestie (and yelp elite) Imo brought me here for a girls day after raving about it for months, and now I completely understand the hype. We grabbed seats at the bar (which is honestly the place to be, especially since this spot gets busy on the weekends). Hint hint: make a reservation or get here early. But overall the bar was the perfect place to people watch and to catch up. When it comes to service, impeccable. Despite being busy everyone was attentive and the drinks/food were well placed despite it being a full house. And can we talk about the bartenders? They were so welcoming and even let us film while they worked their magic making cocktails. Watching them crank out cocktails with so much flair was half the entertainment and they couldn't have been nicer. Service was definitely a 10/10. We enjoyed a few margaritas but my favorite was definitely the Hibiscus Margarita. It wasn't overly sweet and was just refreshing. I also had the tamarind Marg which was good too. Extensive cocktail menu and mezcal if you like it. The food absolutely lived up to the drinks. Santo Mezcal takes classic Mexican flavors and gives them a slightly elevated twist while still keeping everything comforting and approachable. My friend couldn't stop talking about her Pork Belly Tacos and I fell in love with the Shrimp Enchiladas. They were loaded with fresh shrimp and covered in the most incredible creamy chipotle sauce (same as their sister restaurant Los agaves for reference). Definitely one of my favorite enchiladas around, 10/10 also. One thing I wasn't expecting is that their chips and salsa might be some of the best I've had. The tortilla chips were fresh, warm, perfectly salted, and paired with a salsa so good I probably ate two bowls before our food even arrived. Honestly, you could sit at the bar with a basket of chips, salsa, and margaritas for hours and be completely happy. Make sure you don't pass up on the chips and salsa. As noted, this is a more elevated Mexican restaurant so prices are slightly more $$$ but you get what you pay for. Just worth noting because if you equate good Mexican food being $2 tacos and a bucket of beer, this spot won't do it for you. But if you want something for more of a special occasion where the food, vibes and service are A+ then this spot is for you.

You get free chips & salsa and they have a variety which is nice. We also asked for a hot one and boy was it hot-habanero. We ordered: -Ceviche de Mariscos- good, refreshing -Pulpo tacos- great flavor, small amount of octopus for the price. The salad with mango dressing is amazing! -tacos rib eye- she loved it -short rib tacos - also enjoyed Service was good. Delicious

We got a bottle of champagne and had delicious appetizers and food. The service was amazing! It's rare to find a waterfront restaurant that also has stellar food and reasonable prices. Usually all you get is a good view. But oku is totally different! They do it all! My husband doesn't like raw fish so it was awesome to have a place that had a wide selection of cooked proteins and sushi too. I can't wait to come back! I wish we lived closer. It will be a lifelong memory. Richard, Tina and our server made us feel so special.

We ordered a few things to share. We got lychee martinis because why not! Definitely had to order a few nigiri's which were delicious. Got the shishito peppers and they were flavorful and not too spicy! Can't go wrong with a few sushi rolls. Our server was sweet and attentive. The vibes for this restaurant is around intimate depending where you sit but also loud and vibey if indoors. Great place to visit but make sure to make reservations for the outdoor patio on the second level for views of the ocean and the pier!
