It was a little weird walking in because there was a group of people talking but then we got to business. I love delicious Columbian food so I decided to try this local Mercado/Restaurant for lunch. The husband and wife team/owners were so welcoming. Before I ordered, they let me know that since everything was made fresh it would be about 10 to 15 minutes. Always worth waiting for fresh/homemade food. I had the Chicken Toston which is what Grisella, the chef, is posing with and it was fantastic. I brought my husband the Cuban and it was very good. We finished up with a light guava and cheese empanada for dessert. So yummy I'm looking forward to going back and trying their breakfast and other lunch and dinner entrées. I was very pleased that this restaurant has a mini version of a bandeja paisa because usually regular portion ones are enough to feed two people. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get avocado and only one plantain strip, but regardless it was a filling meal! It was good and authentic tasting. I got an empanada de queso and it was good as well! Perfectly made empanada, but I kept getting a refrigerator-like taste/smell from it ... maybe it's just me? Beautiful family. They just recently opened up here in Palm Harbor. His sister has a large restaurant in Orlando. Everything is handmade fresh and served to the table. I've now eaten here several times since they opened and have had many things on the menu and have never been disappointed. I have had their empanadas, their soups and especially the entire soup/sancocho meal that they serve on Saturdays is to die for. Of course I tried their bandeja paisa which is their traditional main dish of Colombia and that was delicious. I have even had breakfast here and it was done with love. The best customer service experience I have had. Mom cooks and dad is helping with the rest of the process of running the restaurant and getting it up to where they would like it to be. Even the kids help. You get the Home experience of incredibly well-made, seasoned and delicious Latin food made with love. By the way their batidas/jugos are delicious. You can try anything on the menu and I have tried several and they all are super. Extremely recommend this if you want to go back to authentic Colombia and to family.
