We were looking for something different for our Friday night meal and came across this humble place with flavor bombs. We ordered a pork pupusa, a seafood soup and a fried chicken plate. The portions were so generous we had to take some home. The pupusa came with two large jugs of pickled cabbage and hot sauce. Our server was so kind to explain what the pickled cabbage goes with the pupusas, cause we didn't know! The restaurant has more of a cafeteria feel but who cares, the food is amazing! Parking is a plenty right outside the restaurant. We'll be back. read more

This place is an absolute gem. One of my favorite places to stop for lunch / dinner! I tell everyone at work to try it out. My favorite item on the menu is the pork and cheese pupusas. And make sure to get a side of rice and beans - they are fantastic. My husband loves the steak tacos and the chorizo tacos. I've never had a bad meal from here. It seems to be family owned and operated, and the staff are very friendly. Orders are fulfilled quickly - generally 15-20 minutes from the time you call. They are also open for sit-down dining now, if you'd rather dine in! Whatever you do, make sure to try the pupusas! They are amazing! read more

We had a great time having pupusas here! Pupusas are one of my favorite foods in the world. We ordered four different kinds: queso, queso con loroco, queso con frijoles, and queso con jalapenos. Yes, that's a lotta queso! They were very well made pupusas and fried for just the right amount of time. I especially enjoy the curtido (cabbage & carrot relish) and the fresh salsa served with them, too. If I had to pick a favorite, I would say queso con loroco. I really enjoyed that one, and the queso con jalapenos. But luckily, I do NOT have to pick a favorite, and I could just have one of each! And they are so delicious. The restaurant itself is very small and not in great condition. They do serve the food in house on plates and have regular silverware, but styrofoam cups and styrofoam to go. A big no-no in my book. I will definitely be back! Very delicious pupusas and very great location. I am also excited to try their breakfast. read more

We had a fun time here and we look forward to returning! I enjoyed their version of pupusas. Compared to other pupusas that I've had, these are larger in diameter, flatter, with less filling in the middle, and grilled to perfection, giving them a fried, chewy texture with a very soft center. I don't know if this is typical of El Salvadorean pupusas, but I don't care: they were really good! There were at least four vegetarian varieties: plain cheese, cheese & beans, cheese & jalapenos, and cheese with loroco (and loroco is a type of flowering vine). My favorite was the jalapeno variety, since it had a little more heat and flavor than the other types, though they were all worth trying. They have the cabbage relish, as usual, except that it comes to your table in a liter-sized bucket, so have at it! Also, a mild tomato sauce. In addition, they have Valentina sauce on the table, if you want to spice it up a bit. It's a divey place with a casual diner decor, located in a strip mall with a gas station. Come as you are, take your time, and they are very polite here. I'm glad that there's a place like this in the north metro! We look forward to our next visit! read more

This restaurant has HORRIBLE customer service. It is unbelievable how rude the people here are. The place is also dirty looking and not well maintained. The employees seemed bothered by the fact that we entered the restaurant and went straight to being on their phone the second they were done taking my order. You have a mop closet with a small porcelain bowl in it that you share with the gas station next door. Do NOT go in there. 3. Great pupusas not so great customer service! My wife called and ordered 4 pupusas... When I went to pick them up the lady was nice and helped me check out quickly.... Once I checked the box I noticed I only had 3 pupusas even though I was being charged for 4....i thought "no big deal, just an honest mistake" and told her about it. The other lady (she'd taken the order on the phone) immediately freaked out and started arguing I'd only ordered 3.....instead of arguing on how many I'd ordered I just told her well there's only 3 and I'm being charged for 4. She replied "that's why I'm giving you the $2 back" and then practically threw the money at me in a very rude way. I've been there before and they've been nicer but they obviously don't know how to admit their mistakes smh:-( read more

A tale of two restaurants: Restaurant 1. The food is auhtentic and enjoyable. They're known for pupusas, which are similar throughout town, but their curtido (the South American Saurkraut garnish) is the best around and makes them pop, as does their variety of sauces for different dishes. All the food is good, and if you're going strictly by food quality and authenticity, this is a five-star place. Restaurant 2. It's sometimes a bit on an unclean hole in the dining area, though the kitchen area always looks good. I usually order it as takeout. Service is friendly, but if seemingly family members are around, it can be inconsistent where others get pushed back. Everything is made by hand so it's not the fastest, nor do they always finish at the same time. If you want good, authentic food and have a good deal of patience, this is a great stop. If you're expecting fine dining, this isn't the place. If you want great, homemade food, you are in luck. It is small and always made to order. The staff speaks almost no English so go with the flow. Pupusas are the specialty but anything with beef tongue is prepared very well. Great food, great service. As long as you're not a snob you will enjoy this place. read more
