I had contacted a couple different companies in Oahu for a surprise birthday party. Jay responded promptly and give me a really good price. He even threw in the speaker and mic. His team came in on time and they were very professional. Having been to the standard luau at the tourist places this was by far the best. They were interacting with the guest and everyone had a great time. Everyone agreed this was hands down the best luau EVER!!! I would definitely recommend this company for your next private event.

Had ring of fire perform at our wedding. Couldn't be happier with their performance. They got everyone in the wedding up and dancing. The fire dance was awesome. Everyone at the wedding had a blast. Would recommend ring of fire to anyone looking to bring the luau party to them!

From the first time I contacted ring of fire (Jackie and Jay), they show high level of professionalism. Our method of contact is via email, and Jackie & Jay responded to my questions with details promptly every time. We ended up hiring ring of fire to perform at our wedding, which consisted of the performance of a beautiful hula dancer (2 songs with change of outfit based on the song!), musician, drummer and a fireknife dancer! Our fireknife dancer is even a 2-time champion! The best part of the performance was the surprise the team brought to my husband & I... They sang the Hawaiian song "love & honesty" live and asked us to dance to it! The song was way better than our first dance song, so beautiful, meaningful and romantic. The whole performance was well thought out and exceeded my expectation! Our fireknife dance performance was an awesome way to warm up our dance floor as well (our dance party begins after the performance). The performers also stayed for a while after the performance so our guests could take pictures with them. Everyone enjoyed so much! I initially couldn't find any reviews on ring of fire and was a little worried. It was the professionalism Jackie, Jay and team demonstrated that put me at ease! I would highly recommend ring of fire to anyone!

    The whole team was great!

This show features some great dancing and some even more impressive fire dancing, but plan ahead…read morebecause it is a late night. If you visited the Polynesian Cultural Center during the day, the show brings everything together - you'll appreciate how hard it is to catch sticks while dancing or to swing ball attaching to strings in the air without them crossing over each other. The show has a very loose story line tracking the life of a man from birth to middle age. Each phase of his life is danced out using a dance from one of the PCC's 6 islands. The storyline isn't really the main purpose of the show - it's more to feature the different countries' dances. If you accept that there's not much of a story, you'll likely enjoy: -the amazing backdrop (while the seating is covered from the rain, the show backdrop consists of real lush greenery) -the young kid dancing some excellent hula -the Tahiti women with their excellent butt swinging (it's memorizing but I don't know how else to describe it) -the Samoan fire show featuring men sitting on fire, putting fire on their feet and even one man putting fire in his mouth By the time the 7:30pm show ended, it was almost 9pm so you'll need to budget for a long dark drive to wherever your home is.

Unfortunately, any photography and video recording were strictly prohibited during the performance so I have no photos to post. It is advisable to book your tickets online (the website will ask the date of your visit). Show tickets were included in our 2-day admission to the Polynesian Cultural Center (self-guided experience through 6 island villages and the Ha show). Discounts offered for kamaainas. The story was captivating and it beautifully illustrated the culture well with lots of visual displays. The choreography was impressive. There must have been over a hundred performers in the show... there were special effects, animation, and high-tech surround sound and lighting which we enjoyed. We got seated in one of the front row seats but really there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The show was about an hour and fifteen minutes. Review #3857

A lot of friends didn't want to go because of the price and things they heard from other people but I'm glad I didn't let their negative comments keep me from experiencing the haunted lagoon for myself. Truthfully though, I would not have gone if they didn't have their offer on Hot Deals Hawaii. We waited an hour and a half but I think it was worth the wait. I liked that they had a video showing around the middle of the line. It was pretty humorous and kept our spirits up. I also loved that they had 2 haunted houses that we had to go through before reaching the lagoon ride. The first haunted house was pretty freaky, thanks to the 3D glasses they had us put in. The glasses blurred our vision a little, adding to the horror effect. The 2nd haunted house was right before the lagoon and wasn't as scary as the 1st but definitely got us in the mood to be scared. The lagoon itself was awesome. The special effects were great and the ghouls and ghosts were really good. All I can say is..be ready to get wet. Don't bother sitting in the middle just because you don't want to get wet because you will no matter what. You might as well sit in the front and on the sides so you can get the most out of the ride. I'm not a fan of the ride to and back from PCC but haha..that's kind of beyond their control :P I almost forgot to to add: I think part of the reason why it seemed scarier to me than some other haunted houses and what not..is because the ghosts and ghouls would actually touch you..in the maze and on the lagoon ride. I've always thought they weren't allowed to touch you and that's what keeps me from being super freaked out...didn't quite work that way this time -__- lol

I don't know about the other years, but this year, there was a dance performance by, I believe 24/7 dance, and then after that you go through a 3D maze. I got freaked out by the first character! It was a small boy and he was just...there! Then you walk over to get on a boat to ride through the lagoon. So many spooks, scares, and thrills. I thought it was well done! My driver of the boat sucked. We kept getting stuck or running into trees. But other than that it was fun. TIP: WEAR BLACK. You will get dirty since the water is dirty. And yes, you WILL get wet. If you go I highly recommend being there when it opens and the canoe show. The canoe show will give you a quick introduction to the different cultures and help you chose which ones you want to explore further. Each area discusses history and has interactive experiences like games (lots of fun), some food tasting (and purchases), history and replicas. When you arrive there are lots of open picnic tables and some really delicious food vendors and trucks. I liked the savory meat pies from the Kiwi truck. Save any shopping for after the luau as your waiter may present you with a 10% off coupon after dinner. We did the "pick your oyster" for a pearl at the pearl factory and it's a fun experience for under $20. Any jewelry you buy will be the costly part so consider waiting till you get back home to have it set at your hometown jeweler. We booked the full package which included a private guide which was a huge advantage. Your guide will descend from some sort of Polynesian culture and heritage and they can enhance your visit sharing their own experiences. There were also bonus amenities to this package which included a check in lounge with refreshing spa water and snacks, priority seating at all events and the first to be called up for the Luau dinner. The Breath of Life show is a little hokey, especially if you have seen many a Cirque Du Soleil show, but the fire dancers at the end made it worth the wait. We added the shuttle pick up to our package which was very convenient; both for parking and also how tired we were after a full day. Be sure to bring sunscreen, refillable water bottle, hat, sunglasses and a fan because most of the experiences are outdoors. Some of the mini theaters have ceiling fans but no air conditioning. There are some misting stations throughout the park, plenty of water filing stations and bathrooms where you can douse your head with water to help cool off (like I did 3 times) on hot and humid days. Our pass was good to return for the next three days but we didn't have time. It would have been worth it to experience the other villages but we wanted to spend our trip doing other stuff.

We booked online so we got a discount, the total being $136.32 per person. Even though we didn't visit the different island villages, we still got access to the Hukilau Markerplace. It's a bunch of vendor businesses outside the entrance so you can still buy food and chill at the tables. Everyone there was really friendly and helped us find the entrance for the luau (not a lot of signage so it was kind of confusing). They took pictures of us before we entered so that we can buy printed copies afterwards. I just asked one of the workers there to take it on my phone instead lol (the photographers aren't allowed to do that but the staff can). We had private table and a view of the luau show. When seated, everyone is served a Pina colada smoothie in a real pineapple! There's also unlimited soda (no alcohol is served at PCC). Our server was super friendly and accommodating. They call people by tables when lining up for the buffet. There's two buffet stations on each side. Overall, I thought the food was just okay. A lot of items were bland like the noodles and poke. My favorite items were the firecracker shrimps, Hulu Hulu chicken, and creme brûlée. The roasted pork had no flavor so you gotta mix it with the special sauce they serve lol. I was impressed at the dessert bar. They had ice cream, creme brûlée, cake, fruits, etc. Afterwards, we went to the theater for the Ha: Breathe of Life show. It's outside close the the Hukilau Marketplace on the right side. They don't have bathrooms in there so make sure you go beforehand. They do allow re-entries but you gotta show tickets so have it on your phone if you only have one designated person holding all the tickets. The show was spectacular! I've seen it both times and I still think it is one of the best live performances out there. They do crazy fire stunts and lots of singing and dancing. They offer plenty of free parking. It's like an hour drive from Waikiki so very far for majority of their guests.

There used to be a commercial before some of the movies in Dole at least - had big action screens going on in the screen and then the picture got smaller and smaller til the size of a phone - with a tag line of go big or go home. Here is why you watch some movies like a Star Wars/ Star Trek or Pearl Harbor- ON the Big SCREEN. Action! I get it a Michael Moore film or English Patient or a documentary on dung beetles or library studies can be done on any screen. I don't think the place is clean at all. Part of the reason I go to the movies is the 'illusion' of things being better than my own house. The front lobby- I think is horrible. People are maybe friendlier than other places but that is to be expected. Less people served= less problems in general. I suggest going to a bigger theater.
