Such a neat experience! Best value for money in Hawaii! We learn soo much about the culture and it was an amazing experience! We loved the day with each island and what they are all about. It's easy and not stressful to move about and get the full experience. The passport is so fun for children (you must ask for them at the front). The buffet is great. Neat to get to try all the foods! The show is a MUST! Make it a day!

Absolutely a MUST do when visiting Oahu. Gates open just after lunch and it's absolutely worth staying the day to check everything out. The presentations of music, culture, dance, is inspiring, moving and beautiful. Family friendly and great for people of all ages. This place is wheelchair friendly, and is a walking tour.

What an incredible place!!! I am so pleased by this ginormous park! Everything is just so magical. I loved learning about all of the Polynesian islands and their beautiful culture! They have such attention to detail, everything is so unique and thoughtful. I loved all the dances, the wardrobe and the landscaping. The staff is amazing too!

Cool place. Second time we visited. First time doing VIP. Definitely the way to go this time. Tell your guide what you want and they will cater. You want food and and no shows, they will do it. You want all shows, they will do it. Do the behind the scenes tour, so cool the effort these college students do. Amazing their talents! Loved the luau. The final show was impressive! Amazing talent. Had 2nd row seats which were incredible and unforgettable! I'll definitely return.

Polynesian Cultural Center This is a review for my experience at the Polynesian Cultural Center. WORDS TO DESCRIBE the Polynesian Cultural Center: Enlightening, Innovative, Connected, Gratitude, Honor, Family, Heritage, Respect, Resilience Upon arrival, the Polynesian flags are displayed for all to see. You can feel the pride and presence of the different nations when you look at each flag waving proudly to greet you. Map/Islands/Activities: The center is huge! There are many activities and shows that you can experience. Each station I visited left me feeling so informed about the culture. You will be able to learn about the 6 island nations of Samoa, Aotearoa, Fiji, Hawaii, Tonga, and Tahiti. DO NOT MISS: Welcoming ceremony The hosts greet and welcome everyone with a display of music and dance showcasing the 6 nations. Wow! There was such beauty and love with every island performing their greeting to us. Mahalo! EXHIBITS I enjoyed: Rhythm of the Islands Coconuts "Tree of Life" Polynesian Football Hall of Fame The Polynesian Cultural Center is a MUST if you are visiting Hawai'i for the first time. You will be enlightened and inspired after learning about the beauty and culture of the Polynesian nations. I enjoyed learning about the history of family life, music, sports, and art at the exhibits. All of the uncles, aunties, and cousins working, showed so much genuine love and kindness when they were teaching me about their heritage. Your lessons were very uplifting! Hawai'i Mahalo Nui Loa! Maraming Salamt Po!

I have gone to the Cultural Center every time I have visited the islands. This was my 3rd visit here. We went through the different villages with our guide. PK was our guide and he was wonderful, very knowledgeable and kind. My fiancé got sick from something he ate prior to our arrival and had to sit out part of the tour, but PK kept checking in to make sure he was doing okay. Over the years when I have gone to the cultural center the tours have differed slightly, one of the most interesting still is the tree climbing at the end of the day. We also attended the luau & Ha; the breath of life show. I love a traditional Luau and the Taro bread that they have - I can't find it anywhere in the mainland and it is one of my favorite things! Kalua Pork is one of my most favorite foods and I love watching them remove the pig from the emu and carve it on the buffet line. Ha, was one of the best evening shows I have seen thus far. It held our attention we were completely captivated. It was such a beautiful performance. I would highly recommend the show and the cultural center. It is wonderful to be able to learn about all of the Polynesian cultures and practices. It is such a unique experience.

Went to the Polynesian Cultural Center because my friend has never been to Hawaii, so I figured this is one of the places she should experience to learn a bit about the Polynesian Islands and the people and culture of the islands. We purchased the package that included a guided tour, canoe ride, Ali'i Luau, and evening show. As much as this package cost, it's good to know the price we paid helps to support the students at Brigham Young University. These students come from all over the world, so it's a wonderful opportunity for them. The PCC is huge, so there really isn't enough time to see and experience everything. After the tour it was time for dinner and then we had about an hour before the tour started. It's nice that your entry is good for 3 days, but if you're staying far from the PCC (as we are), it's difficult to return to finish seeing everything. We also booked the shuttle from Waikiki at $29 per person, round trip. For us, not liking to drive at night, it was worth it. We didn't get back to Waikiki until 10:30 p.m.

Worth the drive. They are closed one weekday which really wrecked my plans up so I rented a car and drove out there. It's a lovely drive, everything just seems low key in Oahu. Slower highway speeds...breathtaking views on the journey. Anyway the actual PCC, my visit was rushed but still fulfilling. I rode the boat, I toured and caught performances at 4 or 5 of the 6 island villages, talked to the people, had a drink, got tatted up, saw a wedding, fire show. The standout performance was short middle aged gentleman at Samoa, dude was hilarious. You could easily spend all day there especially if you buy the buffet and attend the Breath of Life show; which unfortunately wasn't included in my pass and they don't sell tickets to the show alone. Only downside...

For what you can learn about so many different cultures in the same day, this is an amazing packed day full of performances and activities. Lots of it can feel geared towards a younger audience but it is equally enjoyable to all ages. There aren't that many great food options in the park itself but there are some restaurants nearby. You could spend more than 1 full day here trying to fit everything in. There is always someone around to help with any questions you have about the center. The show at night has a grand accumulation of dances from various cultures weaved into a story. It lulls at time but still has some great moments and finishes with some amazing fire dancing at the end

I learned so much during my visit here, but before I say more, it's important to know that the Polynesian Cultural Center is operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Brigham Young University). Because of this, some aspects of clothing, politics, and history are presented through that lens. I highly recommend visiting the Bishop Museum first if you'd like a broader historical context before coming here. Our tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable, engaging, and, like many of the guides, a student volunteer from Brigham Young University. Throughout the day, we experienced cultural lessons, traditional games, storytelling, and interactive demonstrations, culminating in the final evening performance. Be prepared: it's a very long day, ending around 10 PM. Wear comfortable clothes and good walking shoes because you'll be on your feet quite a bit. Cameras are not allowed during the final show. The performance itself gave me Jesus Christ Superstar meets mega-church production vibes - but regardless of style, the storytelling and production quality are genuinely impressive. The luau is okay, plenty of food. There are plenty of gift shops and fun things to browse, and don't be shy about trying the food samples from the different island villages, be adventurous and taste everything you can!

We came by after seeing so many ads on our social media while staying in Hawaii for a week. After checking out, we saw a few stores that all somewhat served the same king of things like shirts, dresses, things that tourists would wear or gift. There's plenty of good restaurants to eat from, we ate from a food truck that was serving shrimp tacos. I also had an espresso drink from the North Shore crepe shop. The whole area seemed like it had better days but, looks to be losing a lot of foot traffic and visitors or tourists. Maybe I came in during a slow season of tourists during October/November but, it really wasn't bustling enough. We bought gifts for our families from the ukulele shop and some of the gift shops but, that was pretty much it, we kept it short because we had local staff walking around asking for surveys to be filled and we've done it once but, was approached 2 more times from others who didn't know we were already approached.

Well organized. Primarily run by college students. Great way to learn about the different Polynesian cultures. Different little village areas for each culture discussed. Areas to learn a skill. Everyone was kind and helpful. This is a large park similiar to Disneyland and there is lots of walking. There are rental scooters if needed for $50. We did the great banquet hall all you can eat... it's not a much food as it appears, but we were both able to find things we liked. Last but not least was the fire show. Great show, nice way to end the evening. While I enjoyed the experience and learned a lot about different historical cultures (Hawaiian, Tonga, Somoan, New Zealand... and I think I'm missing one more). I also felt uncomfortable. The kids are primarily students from Bringham Young a Morman college. The kids have to work at this center 19hrs a week during school year and 40 hrs during breaks. I believe in spring your way through school, but these kids are doing hard physical task and then completes day going the show. It felt a 'dog&pony show'. Some kids seemed to enjoy what they were doing, but not all. Most where displaying physical depictions of their ancestors life. Maybe I'm wrong, but I felt uncomfortable.

How's the theater look like for breath of life show? For gateway seats, is it better to choose the side front seats or back middle seats for audience experience?

There are no bad seats. We were front row on side of middle. It was great but we noticed the upper seats were able to see some of the dances from a better perspective by looking from above.

Is 'Ha Breath of Life' their Luau show? Or, is this show in addition to the 'Luau at Hale Aloha' dinner?

Hi! The luau show is different. It's a series of performances during the dinner portion of the luau package. The "HA: Breath of Life" is the event/show of the evening after dinner. It's the culmination of the whole PCC experience....it's my favorite… Read more

Do you guys accept kamaaina discount?

    Yes

Is there a difference in food/buffets with different price points?

Yes, each meal experience option is different. Off the top of my head, the Gateway buffet costs less than the Ali'i luau. However the food is AMAZING still with live music entertainment; you just do not get the luau experience.

Does anyone know if we can get tickets at the door? Self guided tour not luau package?

If you visited the Polynesian Cultural Center during the day, the show brings everything together - you'll appreciate how hard it is to catch sticks while dancing or to swing ball attaching to strings in the air without them crossing over each other. The show has a very loose story line tracking the life of a man from birth to middle age. Each phase of his life is danced out using a dance from one of the PCC's 6 islands. The storyline isn't really the main purpose of the show - it's more to feature the different countries' dances. If you accept that there's not much of a story, you'll likely enjoy: -the amazing backdrop (while the seating is covered from the rain, the show backdrop consists of real lush greenery) -the young kid dancing some excellent hula -the Tahiti women with their excellent butt swinging (it's memorizing but I don't know how else to describe it) -the Samoan fire show featuring men sitting on fire, putting fire on their feet and even one man putting fire in his mouth By the time the 7:30pm show ended, it was almost 9pm so you'll need to budget for a long dark drive to wherever your home is.

A lot of friends didn't want to go because of the price and things they heard from other people but I'm glad I didn't let their negative comments keep me from experiencing the haunted lagoon for myself. Truthfully though, I would not have gone if they didn't have their offer on Hot Deals Hawaii. We waited an hour and a half but I think it was worth the wait. I liked that they had a video showing around the middle of the line. It was pretty humorous and kept our spirits up. I also loved that they had 2 haunted houses that we had to go through before reaching the lagoon ride. The first haunted house was pretty freaky, thanks to the 3D glasses they had us put in. The glasses blurred our vision a little, adding to the horror effect. The 2nd haunted house was right before the lagoon and wasn't as scary as the 1st but definitely got us in the mood to be scared. The lagoon itself was awesome. The special effects were great and the ghouls and ghosts were really good. All I can say is..be ready to get wet. Don't bother sitting in the middle just because you don't want to get wet because you will no matter what. You might as well sit in the front and on the sides so you can get the most out of the ride. I'm not a fan of the ride to and back from PCC but haha..that's kind of beyond their control :P I almost forgot to to add: I think part of the reason why it seemed scarier to me than some other haunted houses and what not..is because the ghosts and ghouls would actually touch you..in the maze and on the lagoon ride. I've always thought they weren't allowed to touch you and that's what keeps me from being super freaked out...didn't quite work that way this time -__- lol

I don't know about the other years, but this year, there was a dance performance by, I believe 24/7 dance, and then after that you go through a 3D maze. I got freaked out by the first character! It was a small boy and he was just...there! Then you walk over to get on a boat to ride through the lagoon. So many spooks, scares, and thrills. I thought it was well done! My driver of the boat sucked. We kept getting stuck or running into trees. But other than that it was fun. TIP: WEAR BLACK. You will get dirty since the water is dirty. And yes, you WILL get wet. I highly recommend Ring of Fire Hawaii for your wedding or event! Although we don't live on Oahu…read moreand were planning our wedding from a distance, Jackie and Jay were easy to communicate with and made the entire process seamless. My husband and I wanted to have a hula tribute dance to celebrate our late grandparents (one of which was a professional hula dancer), and ROF not only made this vision come to life with a moving hula performance, but they went above and beyond to make this moment so special for us and our family members, like suggesting to have their live musician play songs that my husband's late tutu used to perform to, which was such a thoughtful personal touch. The hula dancer's performance was beautiful--it brought tears to everyone's eyes and was so deeply moving. Following the hula performance, we had fire knife dancers perform and they were amazing! They were very talented and we loved how interactive their performance was so all of our guests felt engaged and included. Ring of Fire- Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to make our wedding day so special! You created beautiful memories for us that we will forever cherish!
