This show features some great dancing and some even more impressive fire dancing, but plan ahead…read morebecause it is a late night. If you visited the Polynesian Cultural Center during the day, the show brings everything together - you'll appreciate how hard it is to catch sticks while dancing or to swing ball attaching to strings in the air without them crossing over each other. The show has a very loose story line tracking the life of a man from birth to middle age. Each phase of his life is danced out using a dance from one of the PCC's 6 islands. The storyline isn't really the main purpose of the show - it's more to feature the different countries' dances. If you accept that there's not much of a story, you'll likely enjoy: -the amazing backdrop (while the seating is covered from the rain, the show backdrop consists of real lush greenery) -the young kid dancing some excellent hula -the Tahiti women with their excellent butt swinging (it's memorizing but I don't know how else to describe it) -the Samoan fire show featuring men sitting on fire, putting fire on their feet and even one man putting fire in his mouth By the time the 7:30pm show ended, it was almost 9pm so you'll need to budget for a long dark drive to wherever your home is.

Unfortunately, any photography and video recording were strictly prohibited during the performance so I have no photos to post. It is advisable to book your tickets online (the website will ask the date of your visit). Show tickets were included in our 2-day admission to the Polynesian Cultural Center (self-guided experience through 6 island villages and the Ha show). Discounts offered for kamaainas. The story was captivating and it beautifully illustrated the culture well with lots of visual displays. The choreography was impressive. There must have been over a hundred performers in the show... there were special effects, animation, and high-tech surround sound and lighting which we enjoyed. We got seated in one of the front row seats but really there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The show was about an hour and fifteen minutes. Review #3857

I highly recommend Ring of Fire Hawaii for your wedding or event! Although we don't live on Oahu…read moreand were planning our wedding from a distance, Jackie and Jay were easy to communicate with and made the entire process seamless. My husband and I wanted to have a hula tribute dance to celebrate our late grandparents (one of which was a professional hula dancer), and ROF not only made this vision come to life with a moving hula performance, but they went above and beyond to make this moment so special for us and our family members, like suggesting to have their live musician play songs that my husband's late tutu used to perform to, which was such a thoughtful personal touch. The hula dancer's performance was beautiful--it brought tears to everyone's eyes and was so deeply moving. Following the hula performance, we had fire knife dancers perform and they were amazing! They were very talented and we loved how interactive their performance was so all of our guests felt engaged and included. Ring of Fire- Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to make our wedding day so special! You created beautiful memories for us that we will forever cherish! If you are looking for a wonderful and authentic Polynesian performance for your special event, look no further, book Ring of Fire! (Photos by Mary Costa Photography)

Ring of Fire - Our beautiful dancers often use Hawaiian implements such as these "pu'ili", or split bamboo, as instruments when they dance.

Let's be honest, this is no Kapolei Commons so don't expect it BUT I appreciate that we have this…read morelittle theatre so we have the option of staying close to home(I live on the NS). Yes, they could do a little updating but I'm not coming here expecting to recline in luxury sipping on champagne *get real* Their prices are comparable to theaters in town but sometimes I don't want to pay $20 gas and would rather use that on dinner instead. This movie theatre is GREAT and offers great options for all in the family. If you're wanting to watch an adult R movie this is not the place for you LOL. GRATEFUL for business owners who make a difference in our community. This little mom & pop theatre offers so much to our community and I'm grateful for that. Thank you for keeping this theatre going for all of us on the North Shore who don't always want to drive into town.

Laie Palms Cinema Keep your money, buy a bus ticket round…read moretrip to any of the theaters in Honolulu and enjoy a real movie. There used to be a commercial before some of the movies in Dole at least - had big action screens going on in the screen and then the picture got smaller and smaller til the size of a phone - with a tag line of go big or go home. Here is why you watch some movies like a Star Wars/ Star Trek or Pearl Harbor- ON the Big SCREEN. Action! I get it a Michael Moore film or English Patient or a documentary on dung beetles or library studies can be done on any screen. I don't think the place is clean at all. Part of the reason I go to the movies is the 'illusion' of things being better than my own house. The front lobby- I think is horrible. People are maybe friendlier than other places but that is to be expected. Less people served= less problems in general. I suggest going to a bigger theater.
