I decided to take a chance and headed in. I got the grilled chicken bowl and I let the server pick their favorite smoothie for me. The chicken bowl was just meh and definitely too much money for the portion size. The smoothie was pretty good not sure exactly what was in it but there was definitely acai and some type of nut butter. Stopped in during the 2022 Pride parade. I just wanted to comment on what a solid establishment with good people working here. Loved they allowed people attending the parade to use their restrooms during the event without any purchase. Tons of people dining here (perfect location right on High Street). Check out their fresh smoothies and their Açaí Bowls. All made with natural and fresh ingredients and their hand-made. Definitely a business worth supporting. I saw a mother needing a restroom space, as well as some LGBTQIA folks, Allies, and parade attendees as restrooms were few and had to be sought out. It did not appear to be crazily abused but it was refreshing to see this in good practice. read more

I stop in this shop while I was waiting for my son. I made a purchase because you have to in order to use the restroom. It sits on the corner of High and Gay St. I ordered the Turkey Avacodo Cresant sandwich. It was okay nothing special for 9.59 it could have had more meat. Walking up to Rio, they have the cutest little patio with flowers. The menu consists of breakfast options like avocado toast/bagel or croissant sandwiches, some lunch protein bowls, smoothies, and even coffee. We got the iced mocha which is very rich, tasted great. The Avocado Turkey and Cheese croissant was beautiful and all with fresh ingredients - perfectly filling. The Turkey and Cheese Bagel was hot and gooey. This place won't last long. Walked in on a cold day and it was about 50° inside. You could hang meat in there. Got a cup of coffee to stay warm while I waited for my açaí bowl. The coffee was good. The açaí bowl was tasty but it was very small for the price. I'm sorry but 6 blueberries, a quarter banana (maybe), half a strawberry, a tablespoon of granola, a spoon of peanut butter over some açaí mix is not worth the price. I should have turned around when the place was completely empty of other customers. I don't normally write reviews but I feel ripped off. Sorry rio fresh, not recommending you. It is family owned, and each family member has been so friendly and accommodating for my mother's dietary restrictions. They've gone above and beyond to give us excellent service! The smoothies are all natural with no sweeteners or other bad stuff, and the combos are amazing! I never would have thought that some of these fruits would taste good together but they do. First time visitor today... on a whim. There were few customers and I wanted something light... and while I am always tempted by bowls. I stayed true and ordered a salad with tuna. I was eating in and was told to have a seat and they would bring it out to me. I sat and watched people come and go with take out and eat in orders. I try not to be impatient but after 15 minutes of watching I went up to ask about my salad... which was in process when I asked. I'm guessing that the bowls are scoop and serve but still don't understand why a salad required so much more time. The salad was brought out to me soon after and the server thanked me for my patience, which I appreciated although I didn't think I displayed a lot of patience. So, the food was fresh and light... which is what I was looking for... but it left me wanting. It wasn't bad. But I was hoping for something a little more memorable. Now, it's hard to judge a place on a salad, although I expected the tuna to be front and center... it was more like glorified bacon bits. I probably need to return to try a bowl... but at $10.75 they are higher than most the food trucks, which seem to do really well with bowls. This was borderline 2 stars but since salads do not seem to be their forte I figured I should something more in their wheelhouse before going there. read more

Slowest service ever! There were 4 people "working" and only one was making smoothies and sandwiches. Also the trash was completely overflowing near a table. They made my smoothie wrong and instead of trying to remake it, they wanted to give me a refund. They told me "You don't have time to wait on us to remake it"....ummm, I am pretty sure I know how much time I have in my day. I told them to remake it and they said they had to do the others who ordered after us first before remaking mine. It wasn't even that good once they remade it. I live a couple blocks away and really want to love this place. I've hAd several good smoothies and the staff is super friendly. BUT...the opening times are extremely inconsistent. I honestly can't figure out when they are open because it seems like on most days when I walk past it, they're not open. There's no sign to explain it either. If you look on Yelp or google, the hours listed are like 7-7 but this is definitely not the case. I've walked past this place in the morning and afternoon with no sign of it being open. I overall feel very confused about what's going on and feel like if they just put a sign up at the door explaining the inconsistent opening times that it would at least make it more understandable. read more

Columbus is a unique city because a majority of their restaurants and businesses shut down on weekends. Thankfully this wasn't the case with Rio Fresh Cafe. We stopped in, desperate at that point for some breakfast. We ordered the omelet, and were pleasantly surprised by the lower end prices. We ended up waiting probably 20 minutes for the omelets, but they ended up being very good. They had challah bread baked on the bottom. I will say, the size portion isn't huge, but we were satisfied enough not to worry about waiting around and ordering more. Not sure how new this business is, but it seemed like they were still unpacking some boxes so probably pretty "fresh" pun intended. We ended up taking out food to go after waiting (and spending over $30 including tip). My avocado sandwich on a "brioche" bun was some veggies on a store bought hamburger bun.
