Saw this place on Triple D, so had to give it a try. Came in on a Thursday at noon. Heard the place is small and often has a line out the door. Biggest problem was finding parking. Drove through several lots with others prowling as well. Ended up finding street parking right in front of of the joint. Line was not out the door, which was delightful since it was only 4 degrees out, but my butt was just inside right up against the door. By the time I got to place my order, a spot opened at the counter to enjoy the meal. This place is as much of a coffee house as it is a restaurant. I saw 4 taps and was hoping for an IPA, but they were for coffee and teas. Got a Diet Coke instead. Had the Smashburger and the fried rice to take out. The burger was one of the most awesome burgers I have ever had. I don't know what they put in it, but it was just downright delicious. It was crowded today at 11 am. I waited I. Line with my baby and then they reserved a table for us inside. Not bad of a wait at all, they were very accommodating. I got the tacos with beef and they were so good!! My friend got the joyas fried rice (no spice) and that was lovely too. And the portions were huge, and very good flavors!! read more

Worth the wait! The staff work efficiently to get through the lines that form around busy hours. Recently announced they are open until 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays. There is minimal seating inside for groups but we didn't wait long at all. More group seating outside and lots of bar space for smaller groups. The food is soo good and flavorful. Such a long line, especially for a rainy day, so watch what time you go, VERY little seating, biggest complaint. Very awkward and cramped inside, I must say. But service and food is all worth it. I cannot say enough good about this restaurant. I stopped here for coffee a few days ago and I have to say, its my favorite place to get a cup of coffee. It is just so smooth and creamy. Delicious. After hearing many amazing things about Joya's, my friends and I decided to check this place out for brunch. When we entered, there was a long line where you order and pay for your food. They will give you a table card number and bring the food out to you. I decided to get the SamBurger, their take on a cheeseburger, and a Thai Tea. The Thai Tea was pretty standard and tasted great. I thought that the SamBurger was alright, as I thought it tasted like a regular cheeseburger with a little kick. For brunch today I decided to check out Joya's. It is located on a cute strip of business in downtown Worthington. I visited Joya's on a particularly nice day so I was happy to see they had a handful of tables set up to dine outside. Inside you place your order at a counter and a server brings it out to you. The lady working the counter was friendly and complimented my shirt (good way to get a bigger tip from me lol.) I ordered the breakfast sandwich and a regular coffee. The coffee and water were both self served. I found the coffee pretty tasty. The breakfast sandwich came out surprisingly fast. The sandwich came with Pav-tato roll, bacon, cheesy eggs, chutneys, and chives. The egg was nice and fluffy and the bread tasted very fresh. The bacon really added to the sandwich as well. My only gripe is I would have liked a tad more of the spread on the sandwich. Overall it was quite nice. I also appreciated when I was ready to leave a woman behind the counter offered me a to-go cup for more coffee without me even having to ask. I'm glad Joya's is close to where I live because I can definitely see me visiting them more often! read more

With the weather being so nice lately, luckily we got some outdoor street seating, which was a treat. They have lots of options including burgers, wings, sandwiches, rice, and noodles, with an Asian twist of course. I'm a big fan of flat rice noodles so the Kway Teow Danny immediately caught my eye. It had a nice smoky flavor and lots of grilled veggies, chicken, and chunks of pork, topped with a poached egg. It was served with two spicy extras, including sliced red chilis and a red chili sauce. I preferred the chilis because it added a much better kick The Joya's fried rice was a good option if you like extra crispy textures, since it had fried pork, what looked like fried chicken?, rice crisps, and peanut chili crisp in it. In terms of sandwich options, the Joya's party melt was a unique one, with a burger style meat and a little bit of cucumber kimchi, onion, and sauces in it. Once you order and pay indoors, they give you an uno card table number and then bring the dishes out to you. The servers are very friendly and quick. Was looking for a new coffee/breakfast experience while in the area and came across Joya. It sounded like a place full of flavor and that it was. I ordered that Kati Roll which was really tasty, but the star of the show was definitely my friend's Not Pad Thai noodle dish. It was a veggie option , made with tofu. I'm typically not much of a tofu person but it was delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly and again, so much flavor. I'd definitely come back for them. This is it, you talk about good food, this is the place to be. The food the service and ambiance definitely put the Joy in Joyas. The service was very friendly, the ambiance was very downtown, hustle and bustle vibe, it was great but just wasn't for me. But the food made everything worth it, I got a Bobby's breakfast sandwhich, Bobby's way. Having been wanting to make a visit for a while every time I came back to see my folks. The restaurant is Bengali fusion and all the food is delicious! We came when there was a farmers market happening in the neighborhood but service was still very quick and attentive. I got the Bengali chap cheese and also tried my friends kati roll and it was soo good. On the house we were given hush puppies and it was such a nice surprise. If I could give this spot 10 stars I would. This location is nowhere near me but we made the trek over to Worthington to see what all the hype was about and it's DEFINITELY worth the trip. Columbus likes to brag about how they're a "test city" for new and innovative dining and restaurants yet damn near everywhere you look it's chain after chain after chain with the same old same old. JOYA's definitely does NOT fit this mold. They are making dishes that are BOLD, IMAGINATIVE, with FLAVOR PROFILES that are UNMATCHED. Whoever the hell sat down and thought out the menu SNAPPED (in a good way). For example the milk chai tea sample the owner or manager passed out to the folks in line was AWESOME and I'm not even a big tea drinker. The Egg Sandwich BOBBYS WAY, was savory, unctuous, with a hit of sweetness that paired excellently to the overall sandwich in itself. The hash puppies loaded was OFF THE CHAIN! The not so pad Thai had a mix of flavors that were unique and very pleasant to the palate. The crispy Manchurian sandwich was delicious, moist, sauced to the gods yet crispy with an awesome slaw that balanced the sandwich well. The housemade rice crispy sample was spectacular and will never make you want to eat a factory made rice crispy treat ever again! Enjoyed the kati roll a little more than the breakfast sandwich, however, I felt like the paratha wrap was a little stale. The lamb filling was delicious. The breakfast sandwich, which was also good but not mind blowing. The bread, potato patty, and egg were all very soft and mushy, so the sandwich kind of fell apart as I was eating it. got the kati roll and joya's breakfast sandwich bobby's style. i really loved the kati roll in the flavor. it was so good and well crafted in the filling. it could be a bit heavy, but i would still get it again! the sandwich was good, but i think the normal one would've been better. i expected the totbrown from bobby's style to be similar to a hashbrown rather than a fried mashed potato patty. it really overpowered the whole thing in the texture and made it seem less flavorful when compared to the kati roll. i also didn't taste much of the hot sauce the rose mocha was also pretty good! not a huge fan of rose and thought it complemented the mocha well came for brunch on a sunday and there was a line out the door. they seat u after u pay if u want to dine in and seating is available or with estimated wait time. staff was pretty accommodating when trying to help us find a seat for our party of six, but we took it to go rather than wait. after ordering, i think we waited around 25ish min for our food read more

Joya's is popular, perhaps too much so for its own good. Be prepared to wait in line. Be prepared to wait for your food. Is it worth the wait? Yes. But, just be prepared. I'd heard the rave reviews and been wanting to try it for quite some time. The inside is much smaller than I was expecting. There is little to no inside seating. Especially if your party is greater than 2-3. During peak times, the line is out the door and around the corner. You order at the counter, and if dining in, they will seat you when your food is ready (if there is an available spot). I tried the Crispy Manchurian Sandwich. Surprisingly it was ready in about 5 minutes, but my friends food (we ordered together), took about 15-20. So we awkwardly stood in a corner trying to stay out of the way while we waited. The sandwich was a bit messy due to the sauce, but it was really good. For the price, I'd expect it to come with a side. Overall, I would definitely get Joya's again, but try to visit on an off-peak time (if there is one?). I'm also wondering why they haven't upgraded to a larger space given the popularity. read more

I've been wanting to get here since they opened and I finally made it! Now I've been twice in the past few weeks (and I live a solid 30 mins away). 5+++ stars from head to toe with this place! Service, food, patio, bar tables...literally everything has been top tier. I guess I'm surprised to have decent service these days, so I'm overly impressed, especially with a fast/casual spot. The employees genuinely seem happy to be there and answer (alllll) my foodie questions with patience (NOTED!). And the food...YOWZA. The Joyas latte, the special orange coffee I had today, the breakfast tacos, burger, breakfast sandwich, toast in a box, the special hard boiled egg...all insanely delicious and unique. Absolutely fantastic menu full of creativity and variety! Avishar has done an amazing job bringing Bengali flavors to the Midwest palette. The staff is very personable and even with a long line, they want to take time to make sure your meal is as you mean to order it and is allergen free. We giggled overhearing a cook tell a customer "don't worry, nothing here is ACTUALLY spicy". Very helpful insight. Since I wrote this review two years ago, I've been back several times, and I think it's worth bumping it to five-stars (I mean, we can argue about stars and meanings all day long, but for what it is - it's a five-star place!) IT IS CRAMPED. It's small. If it's during a rush, you may not have a seat. This is only really a problem when it's raining or too cold outside to enjoy downtown Worthington. But they can't really change too much about this (maybe some interior designer can come in and optimize the seating space?) The service continues to be excellent - I've never ordered or been served by anyone that makes me second guess myself. I have not had a bad dish - but you HAVE to be adventurous in your eating, they use FLAVOR here - this isn't bland foods, it's rich and tasty. If you can't handle FLAVOR, don't bother coming in, because you'll complain, or worse, make modifications to the food and then complain it's not as good as you expect. read more

My friend got the Cheesy Double Crunch Tacos with beef. The only problem was that all the tables had signs on them that said "reserved for card holders" or something like that. Having never been there before, I didn't know what that meant or if I should have done something in advance with a card to reserve a table. turns out it just means reserved for Joya's customers so I don't know why it doesn't just say that. read more

I had heard so much about Joya's so decided to give it a try with a friend to meet for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. I get the hype. Even on a Tuesday morning there was a bit of a line (though manageable) ahead of the store opening. There are a few places to sit outside the store that makes it easy to wait. The store itself has limited seating and thus isn't super comfortable, but I would say you likely wouldn't come to Joya's for the ambiance... you come for the food. I ended up ordering the egg toast in a box and was pleasantly surprised with the result. Flavorful eggs and a fluffy toasted bread were accompanied by a litany of toppings and items that made pops of unique flavors presented... in a box! I had also ordered a Joya's latte that was delicious and presented with impeccable latte art - and is a great touch for a place that gets the food and drink details right. The only reasons for not being 5 stars is the seating as mentioned above and the pricing as I do feel it is a bit expensive for what you get. Bottom line, I'll probably return to Joya's to try other menu items, but wouldn't wholeheartedly make the recommendation as I can see how the small shop gets overwhelmed... but the fact that it continues to get guests with relatively high prices is a testament to the unique and wonderful flavors coming out of that kitchen with many of the small details done right. read more

A Bengali brunch spot is not something you encounter every day, so I'm very glad I got to stop by Joya's on my latest trip to Columbus. It was definitely bustling, but they were able to accommodate our party of 5 at a lovely table outside. Their vegetarian menu is extensive, and the staff was great at explaining what everything was, including their many spins on chai. I ended up getting the veggie Not Pad Thai, as they were sadly out of the Bengali veggie chap cheese. It was flavorful (not in a traditional Pad Thai way, but still yummy), and they don't skimp with the tofu/egg/eggplant toppings which is always appreciated. To be honest, I am not sure how their nitro chai is different than just cold chai, and I am of the opinion that chai should really not be served cold, but besides that ideological difference my drink was quite pleasant. My daughter and I went on a Wednesday at 11:30, she ordered the breakfast sandwich, and a blueberry cookie. I ordered the Thai Tea & breakfast tacos with eggs. As a 49 year old that's traveled the world, those were the best tacos I have ever had in my life. The magic they perform with black beans & potatoes is unmatched. They had a hard shell inside a soft shell but it wasn't too much and even they were hand made. The cookie flavor was not what I expected. Just perfection with some cereal flakes on top.
