I placed an online order maybe 15 minutes out, and immediately after I walked in the door, the friendly folks standing at the end of the bar let me know it was ready. It's not often you find poutine that's not smothered in beef gravy - and I don't eat beef. Their chicken poutine with green chile sauce was yummy. They carefully packed the chicken nachos with the topping separate, so they wouldn't be soggy when we got to our hotel. The food was filling, flavorful, and fast. They also had some cool merch. It was so nice to have such friendly folks greet me. If passing through again, we'd stop for a beer and a meal.

We had actually tried out a new place, and were gravely disappointed. Two words, "fake" "meat". So, yeah, with the nastiness of the previous place leaving us yearning for a good burger (other than those from home!), we were in the area after a long day of sports nearby, and decided to grab a couple of burgers. Again, it's not fast food. There were some disappointments, but not deal breakers... 1) The burger patty on my burger was about 2" x 3" It was pretty d TINY!! But...at least it was real meat, lol!! And THAT is what we went there for. The bun? These are homemade and usually very good. The top bun on my burger was hard as a rock. It was either stale to begin with, or microwaved after it was toasted. Not too much of a deal cus I'm low carb anyway, though I had planned on breaking my diet for what I already knew would be a tasty house made bun. So, I wasn't too put off, by having an inedible bun. As it was, the under bun was perfect, and toasted with garlic.... and I DID break my diet for this, which I ate by itself. This bread is tdf! So there's that! Since I planned on breaking my diet anyway, I went ahead and order fries. The fries were not greasy like they used to be years ago. But they didn't seem fresh either, like they were years ago. Not soggy, not bad. I'll let it pass. We don't like seasonings on our fries so we got them "naked", and they were actually pretty good that way. No salt, nothing (though I did, later on pour on some gooey cheese for some nice cheese fries). The burger itself was good. I got the mushroom swiss burger. I'm not so sure that the white goo on my burger was swiss though. I've never seen swiss melt into almost nothing like that before. Perhaps it was grated? Still, never seen gooey almost liquid swiss before. I think it was either "swiss cheese product" (white american cheese), or provolone or something. Would have been nice, like tdf if it had been real swiss cheese. The grilled onions, fresh meat, fresh bottom bun (lol) made this burger. Also, again, I appreciate that they put garnishments on the side. I just ate them straight up, including the giant leaf of lettuce. A good overall meal. So even if Voodoo disappoints in some areas, there's always a treasure somewhere, and it was an enjoyable meal. Take away from this... wish the buns weren't stale or microwaved. Wish the burger patty was a decent size, not slider sized. Wish the swiss cheese was real swiss cheese. Not even gonna say I wish prices were lower, that's a given. My burger with fries was over $15.

Truly disappointed! It wasn't as busy as it usually is during the lunch hour. Our order was not placed until 30 minutes in! One drink was wrong and although we were given a discounted price, it was upsetting to be arguing with the owner/manager. She even made us feel stupid by saying that at another restaurant they probably put salad dressing on their salads, but not there at Boba Cafe. She's only been there for two years. Is Boba Cafe under new ownership or management? I am not coming back here as I can get overpriced food with better service somewhere else. read more

I normally get their green chile wonton soup and it is fantastic but this time I decided to change it up and get their tortilla soup. They are getting a token 4-star for all my previous great experiences but I do NOT recommend getting the tortilla soup. It's like a weird chicken noodle soup with potatoes instead of noodles and sparse amounts of black beans, green chile, and tomato. Stick to the green chile wonton soup or their bubble teas. If you want a traditional tortilla soup you wont find it here :( read more

I ordered at the counter and the young lady who waited on me was very pleasant and efficient. There seemed to be only one other person in the bistro, an older gentleman who was cooking on the grill. As I am always on the lookout for a good gyro of course I ordered their Lamb Gyro. I also tried their "Lamb over Rice plate which came in a tin foil pan. The gyro was served wrapped in paper and foil. The food was brought out to my table by the young lady in about ten minutes or so. There was no follow up. Utensils were plastic and lots of napkins were provided. The gyro was wrapped in a pita with a nice texture and good flavor. All the fillings were diced! This was not your traditional Greek gyro with cut off slices of meat and strips of lettuce. There was NO TZATZIKI SAUCE on the gyro or served on the side. The sandwich was served with diced lettuce, tomato, onion, and a white sauce and a spicy red sauce. Not your traditional Greek gyro. However, it was full of flavor! This was a very tasty sandwich...although I did kind of miss not getting my teeth into larger chunks of lamb. But, this Middle Eastern version of a gyro was most enjoyable. Rate this gyro a "B+." The Lamb over Rice served in a tin foil pan was a large meal for the money. A bed of flavorful rice was topped with diced lamb, crisp lettuce, onion, tomatoes and more of the white and spicy red sauce. It was a flavorful and filling meal. Rate the plate a "B." This was an interesting dish served at the Moca House. The restaurant is a welcome addition to the Las Cruces dining scene. I will return and maybe try their Philly Cheese Steak, although I will say that the Moca House will be more known for their exotic Middle Eastern drinks than their food. For the overall dining experience I will give it THREE AND A HALF STARS...meaning above average for a casual order-at-the-counter restaurant.
