The menu provides an excellent choice in food. Ambiance nice. Wait staff efficient and friendly. I ordered the Thai Chicken Wrap. What was disappointing was the tortilla it was wrapped in. Tasted like the old lard ones and was even burnt. The Thai sauce is missing something. There was a bit of bite but the Thai taste I'm accustomed to. Maybe tamarinds? A group of us were looking for a chill place to meet up after class. It was not that long after lunch, so we thought Boba should be good! Well, this is not your average Boba spot. It's kind of dark on the inside and when we first came in, it didn't really look like anyone worked there. It's a pretty good sized space and they easily accommodated our group of 9 without prior reservations. The interior is clean, but has a divey feel to it. The servers were pretty pleasant - no complaints there. So the menu... it's a lot. So many different options, but it's difficult to understand the theme of the restaurant. It's just all very confusing. OK so they have Boba which is Japanese, and then kind of keeping with that theme, they have different fried rice plates... but then they also have quesadillas... club sandwiches... there's no theme. I ordered a Lavender Milk Tea and built my own quesadilla with chicken, bacon, green chile and beans... but the star of it all was the sweet potato fries as my side. Will I eagerly try to go back? I have to say the soup is very good, but it is WAY overpriced for what you get. $12.95 for a regular sized bowl of soup is a little on the steep side. They also advertise that they have draft beer but they DON'T. The service is mediocre at best. They are friendly just not efficient. My daughter and I stopped by for lunch today (our first time there) and all in all it was a pretty good experience! Nice, clean, quite and the staff was super cool (we'd go back for the interaction alone). Unfortunately at the time they had no fish or beef (supplies are finite and can run out, nothing to stress about) but they had plenty of options. I had the Thai wrap and my daughter had the chicken stir fry and both rocked! If I'm craving the best homemade soup in town I go to Boba's Cafe! The potato and leek soup is semi-thick and has the best texture that I always enjoy. Shredded cheese and green onions atop the soup and even though it's made with few and simple ingredients the flavor is out of this world. I also ordered the Asian chicken salad made with perfectly crispy strips of chicken, slivered almonds, crunchy noodles, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers on a bed of greens. This review is based purely off the food as I had it delivered to my hotel. I ordered the potato leek soup (omg 5 stars) and the tuna sandwich with sweet potato fries (3 stars). The soup is a must and is so creamy and decadent. The tuna sandwich I could have easily made at home.. they sprinkle some sunflower seeds on it but that's about it. The fries were cold by the time they got to me but I think they would have been good had I got them fresh! Overall a decent option if you are in Las Cruces. Went here for a luncheon with a friend. Was very excited find out they had Boba and amazing food. The sizes of the food however are quite large so I ended up taking us some home and I ended up with two meals for the price of one Update may 2018 Went back a second time and tried pickup and unfortunately the food was not great. The salad was hot due to being places under a hot app. Tomatoes and cucumber were like rubber and inedible. Hot app was over cooked and unable to be eaten. The drinks are ok but not happy with the food Called in and they offered to replace the dishes with an IOU for a later date. Hey guys ordered in for my later date on the IOU and I was not impressed. I've eaten at Boba Cafe several times. I usually get the green chili wanton soup, which is just a little bit spicy, perfect for a lightweight like me, and very good. I also like their sweet potato fries which are always a generous portion, although I have to admit that I like putting cinnamon sugar on mine when I get home. It's not very healthy, but oh so yummy. I like Boba's because of the quality of their food. It's healthier than other restaurants, so it's a nice option. They now have dining available and the staff is always friendly. They also bring your order out to your car if you prefer. read more

I like this place. They have plenty of vegetarian options including a pineapple teriyaki wrap which I got today. They don't have sweet tea but you can add any flavor to unsweetened tea. I chose blackberry and it tasted really good! They gave me a lot of fries with my wrap too so it was a good value for the price. However the fries were not salted at all. At least they have salt at the tables. The wrap itself was pretty delicious. Just wished it was crispy tofu instead of soft. I would recommend giving it a try read more

The food is good, but a few weeks ago I went in, was greeted by a lady at the front. I sat down by the front window. Then I sat there for 17 minutes and was completely ignored. People around me were getting service, but not me. It was fairly busy, but not insane. I got up & left. I went to The Game down the street & was late from lunch because of the delay I went back this week and it took 1:30 to get out of there. Boba Cafe is near New Mexico State University. It's one of few places that have bubble tea, which is ok compared to California. I wish the tapioca was a little smoother and fresher. The menu does have plenty of selection and the beautiful dining area has a colorful fiesta look. read more

Cabaret in Las Cruces...who woulda thought? Boba Cafe has 6PM showtimes Thur - Sat which includes hor'dourves, entree, beer or wine beverage and gratuity....all for $25. I personally haven't been to the show but I was just shocked to find a dinner theater in LC. Right now there's a performance that features music from West Side Story, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Dick Tracy & more. We tried the lunch: An asian noodle soup, a turkey sandwich (which would have tasted a whole lot better if it were grilled) with fries and the macadamia-pineapple upside down cake. All were okay. I do have to agree that the tapioca balls in my banana bubble tea drink were off....chewy, shriveled...not what I'm used to. Of course, if I am itching to have a bubble tea drink, I will come here to satisfy the craving. Loved the service... read more

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! In March 2019 I once more ventured over to the Boba Cafe, not having been there in a number of years. I just had to give it another shot and try out their famous "bubble tea." I found the place fairly attractive and comfortable for dining....clean and full of light. Some nice music was playing over the sound system. I was told that they have a cabaret night on a couple weekends each month featuring local talent. Ok, I guess, if you're into that. The menu had a number of choices available at reasonable prices. The service I was less than impressed with the last time I was over there but on this March 2019 visit the service was quite good. The young lady waiting tables was helpful, most pleasant, and efficient. Regarding the food: I ordered their "Boba Milk Tea......iced. AND I MUST SAY....I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE ATTRACTION IS. NOT ANYTHING SPECIAL....OVERPRICED....AND I DOUBT I WOULD ORDER IT AGAIN. NOT IMPRESSED. I also ordered their Philly Cheesesteak with fries. And, you have to be kidding me! The Philly was not served on a French roll as the menu says but on a generic Walmart Hoagie Bun. It was warmed on the grill however. Inside were grilled onions, green and red bell peppers and melted cheese. They made the sandwich palatable. The meat however was a joke. It was merely grocery store shaved roast beef....TOTALLY TASTELESS. TERRIBLE. I have had many Philly's in my time but this was the first one using the bland grocery store roast beef designed for cold lunch sandwiches. Compare that to the Philly I had recently at Hubcaps Cruz In Cafe made with deliciously seasoned "RIBEYE STEAK." The Boba sandwich was a joke by comparison. The fries that came with the meal were not much better....right from a freezer bag and having no flavor whatsoever. Even a lot of salt and ketchup did not help. All-in-all, not a good meal. Overall restaurant rating.....THREE to THREE-AND-A-QUARTER STARS.....meaning, for dining, pretty mediocre. Without the decent ambiance and service the rating would be lower....based on the food quality alone. I thought about it later and decided that if given the choice I would rather eat at Burger King or Wendy's. Will I return to dine here? I think you know the answer. One of our favorites. Everything is cooked as ordered. The fried foods are perfect, not greasy, always crunchy and flavorful. Their green chili wontons are amazing. Wraps, soups, club sandwiches, they are all good. The tea is brewed fresh. Their staff is courteous and quick, your food is brought out as soon as it's prepared. I was doing my laundry in the same shopping center as Boba Cafe and was starving so I decided to try it out. First off, it was nice and cool inside. Good sign. Second the people who were running the place were young and tattooed. Good sign. The inside was colorful and kitschy without being tacky. Very good sign. I decided on the Albuquerque Tortilla Soup and ordered a bowl. I ended up with a gallon. Holy soup, Batman! Anyways, my mom and I ended up splitting it, as it was more than enough for two. It was awesome - spicy without making you regret eating it. It looked like a chicken and green chili base - which is different than the typical chicken and tomato base usually found in tortilla soup.
