I give this place 10a across the board. The ambiance was amazing and I loved the decor. The service was great. We were constantly asked if we needed anything. The food great!! I was on a girls trip with a friend and we were looking for brunch options before we headed out on Sunday. We had some car trouble so we were looking local to the hotel we were at and Social popped up! Weirdly, there was no one on a sunday at prime bunch time..which made us a little skeptical. But, our meals were both great! I got the chicken and waffles and my friend got the steak. The menu was pretty limited but had some really solid options on there. In researching where to eat while visiting from out of town, this restaurant was at the very top of the list and actually the only one we had in mind for the day. We were greeted kindly and seated quickly at the bar. The ambiance and décor was the first thing I noticed. The person who came up with the design scheme did an amazing job with the colors, patterns, and materials used for seating, tables, flooring, the bar area, and even the bathroom. On my way to the restroom, I passed a DJ as he played music. The bathroom was decorated just as nice as the sitting area, but had pretty dark lighting. Upon return to the bar, the server asked what we wanted to drink, as she sat down beautifully decorated glasses with water in them. I hadn't had time to view the menu yet and asked her for a few more minutes. As I began to view the menu, I realized the menu only had brunch items. I double checked Google and the restaurant's website to make sure I didn't miss seeing a brunch menu or anything indicating there is only brunch offered on Sundays. Upon returning the server apologized for the wait due to being the only server present at the time. We asked what time brunch would be over thinking we'd just burn time elsewhere until then. She shared that brunch was until 6pm. I suggested someone update the website or google for future patrons. I don't know why I haven't heard of this spot. Now that I know, I won't forget. This is a unique and needed addition to Birmingham nightlife. It's a place to get a meal after ten. There's a really nice menu with everything from sweet potato to lamb to lobster mac n cheese. I had the Brussel sprouts and sweet potato. The rest of our party had the roasted chicken, wings (lemon pepper and hot honey), and lobster mac. Even the brussel sprout nay sayers said they were delicious. There were no complaints about any of the other food. There's a full bar with some really good signature drinks. Beer drinkers, there's no beer. From the moment I walked and saw the purple lighting I knew Inwas going to like this place. The decor is amazing from the ceiling to the floor. The highlight for me was the chandlers and the light up bar top. That's a vibe in itself. I couldn't not get the lobster roll. Oh my God, talking about a good time on the palate. Lobster was perfectly cooked, sauced right with a nice crisp on the bun! I ordered the Sensei for my drink. I would not recommend this one. It was really dry tasting and harsh to the throat. Almost like it was straight syrup with hardly any water to balance the pieces out. I couldn't even drink it. The servers were kinda ignoring us for the most part I felt like. A group of friends came in to have dinner. Despite only having two patrons in the restaurant, the waitress was unfriendly. We asked if we could add a table and were told no but we could add a chair. Then we were told that the manager had to be called to add a table. Again, two total customers in the entire restaurant on a week night. Our group left concerned that the service would not improve and walk a few doors down and enjoyed our dinner and drinks. I had a great experience at SOCIAL from the time I walked through the door by the host and was greeted by JT our server. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and the restaurant all together. We all had the honey lemon pepper wings. They serve the best chicken wings ever. They are breaded which is not your usual restaurant wings and tossed in whatever delicious sauce they use for that flavor. I had the hasselback sweet potato as my side. My friends had the lobster Mac and cheese 9/10, crispy potatoes 10/10 and the sautéed crab claws 9/10. To drink I had the drink with cognac it was 10/10. I can't remember the name and my friends both had a lychee martini 10/10. I would recommend this place to everyone. The service, quality and taste of the food, and ambiance make it easy to give this restaurant a 5 star rating! I attended a birthday dinner at this restaurant. Everything was sooooo good, I returned for brunch with my family the next day. For the birthday dinner, there were over 50 people in our party and the servers did an amazing job at providing quality service the entire night. Most restaurants would take a long time to serve a large party like ours, but SOCIAL had our food and drink orders out to us very quickly. Everything was hot and tasty as it was freshly made. Our drinks were soooo good and not watered down at all! A thing gentleman named JT was our server. He checked in on us throughout the night to ensure we were enjoying our food and the experience.
