Beautiful, comfy loft ambience and possibly the best Benedict I've ever had. The avocados and sautéed mushrooms were a nice touch, portion was pretty large, and the gratin is super special! Staff was very attentive. It's a convenient and welcoming spot to take a break along Highway 1. The Eggs Benedict was good -- nicely cooked eggs and flavorful overall. That said, the beans and tortillas on the side didn't seem very fresh and tasted like they may have been microwaved, which was a bit disappointing compared to the main dish. We visited Pfeiffer beach before noon and were very excited to have lunch at this popular restaurant today. The food was okay, nothing special, but the attitude and customer service was terrible. I would say this is the worst customer service we have had for the 5 days here on our vacation. First: the middle-aged female server pretended not to understand my English. She messed up our orders. Totally forgot about the order for my son and messed up my husband order. Second: They chased away an Asian visitor (in a rude way) when she asked to use the restroom. Third: At 1:42 pm, they turned down an Asian couple saying only serving take-out now since it is closing time. About 10 seconds later, a non-Asian customer walked in, he was seated right away at the bar area and getting ready to be served. To be fair, this is a very nice and cozy restaurant that is highly recommended by both Google and Yelp. Unfortunately, what we experienced today was telling us otherwise. Not sure if it is about discrimination, but we have seen the obviously different treatment for Asian here today. It was very uncomfortable. To onwer: please review your servers' attitude and perhaps provide in-service to these ladies. They should show respect to all customers. Fair... all around and easily accessible from the highway. There is a very nice outdoor patio. A good place to take a crowd for breakfast.

First of all, we walked in and were greeting with kindness. We were taken to our table and I listened as the table behind us kept changing their order on the poor waitress. She managed it all with finesse and a smile. I ordered the egg plate and got the potatoes au gratin. Oh my goodness. Everything was so delicious! The outdoor seating was lovely. What an adorable little café that we were lucky enough to stumble upon. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious and the prices were great. You can't ask for anything more than that. I started with a really good cup of coffee which is not always a given in a café. I had the blueberry pancakes which were so good and packed full of big, juicy berries. Cute, quaint low key, friendly place with tasty food and fast service. They even have a charming little outdoor seating area that we enjoyed on one of our trips there that is past the main restaurant area out a door by the breakfast bar. Breakfast service is on point with portions definitely fueling us up for our hiking adventures for the day. Kitchen and waitstaff even accommodated our request for a fruit bowl minus melon returning with a beautiful bountiful bowl of the freshest medley of pears, apples, strawberries and plums that was TO DIE FOR! Just ate here on April 1, 2022 for the first time ever and I can't believe I haven't tried it before. This restaurant is located 60 feet from Highway 1 next to a Chevron gas station. It had a comfortable Big Sur feel to it inside. We ordered the Steak and Eggs with Gratin Potatoes and a homemade muffin and it was delicious. My medium rare steak was perfectly cooked. Parking was directly in front of the restaurant and very convenient. Breakfast menu stops at 11:30. Lunch goes from 11:30- 2:00. On this day the outdoor seating was not available. read more
