Views can't be beat and amazing breakfast burrito! Great pit stop even though it can get pretty busy and may be hard to snag a table

A cafe with a gorgeous outdoor patio and fresh food, perched on the side of the ocean. We had a banana protein shake ($8.25), Cobb Salad ($25), and Ham Panini ($21.50, perfectly crunchy and toasted). The food is fresh (and expensive, but hey you're paying for the views). I was devastated we didn't get there in time for their breakfast, but it's okay. There is another restaurant (Nepenthe) and a gift shop (The Phoenix) on the upper and lower levels. Staff are nice :)

Stopped for lunch on our way back up the coast after driving along thru Big Sur. The guy taking orders was friendly and threw in an extra pastry since they were closing soon. Had the cheddar and fontina panini and the caprese baguette (both came with fresh salads). Enjoyed the decent food with a great view of the ocean and coastline. The meal was definitely on the pricier side, but that is a given since there are not many options along this route.

Simply amazing!! First time to Big Sur and went here after a friend recommended it. It comes with an amazing view of the ocean and the surrounding area and it has plenty of outdoor seating. I didn't have high expectations of the breakfast burrito tbh, I just wanted something to eat. But I was completely surprised by how tasteful, fresh and substantial the burrito was! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone!

oh god the reuben. hands down amazing. the crust on the toast was perfect, meat seasoned perfectly, and a balanced amount of cheese. highly recommend we stopped by on our drive along hwy 1. try to come early for better parking and a chance at seating. Even on sunny days they have umbrellas and a nice breeze going. the staff is very accommodating. Cafe Kevah is so underrated.

Love the view. Service was fast and employees were very friendly. So nice to have this stop on our way back to Orange County. Next time we will spend more time here and probably will try their food from the restaurant upstairs as well

View makes it worth it! So incredibly beautiful! Feels like the most amazing breath of fresh air. I had the cobb salad and it was just okay, but did the job. Friends and family had wine and beer...it looked very refreshing. If you are looking for a beautiful picture...Cafe Kevah is the place to go!

Kevah has some fantastic panoramic views of the coast, plenty of seating on their broad patio. You order at the hut and go sit then wait for your food. Refillable coffee and free cold water, stirrers, cream & sugar.. If you're hungry from a day of dragging your boots up a mountain, their breakfast burrito will soothe that hunger. It's substantial and solid. The caprese sandwich was on an adorable little baguette cut in half but being perfectly honest requires a bit of jaw strength. Not quite Hercules but maybe a little Jean-Claude Van Damme. Salad on the side tossed in moderate dressing. Scrambled eggs cooked to fluff and little bunches of grapes for those of us who never buys them from the store, these were a pleasant fleshy surprise. Fine coffee with fantastic people watching. Keep in mind the sun will be in your eyes in the morning, so bring your shades or sit smart.

Came twice in the same day. Food was decent, slightly overpriced but view is absolutely breathtaking and calming. Makes ok food at slightly higher price worth it. The steambun was brilliant though.

10 star views and meh food. We wanted to try Nepenthe, but they weren't open and fortunately Cafe Kevah was open at 9am so we got brunch here. They have a stunning 180 degree patio with views of the redwoods and water - a great stop along Route 1. There wasn't much of a wait around 9:30 on a Sunday and we got a table with a view, but it started to fill up as we were leaving. The food and drinks are average diner quality which came out reasonably fast, and they do have unlimited coffee. We ordered eggs Benedict, the breakfast burrito, a mimosa and Bloody Mary which were all passable but you're here for the views.

You cannot beat a tasty breakfast with a view!!!! Our family & friends stopped here to grab a bite on our way to Monterrey Bay. It was earlier in the day and we had no problem parking in the lot. You order at the counter and seating is first come first serve. Beautiful views from here! It's almost like having breakfast in treehouse the way it's laid out. I will definitely visit again when I'm back in the area.

My friend and I stopped by here after visiting McWay Falls. We arrived around 9:30am and this place was open an hour before the phoenix store and I believe the restaurant opens at 11:30. It was kind of empty when we arrived but people started to show up around half an hour later. Everything was so quick, from taking orders to getting our food. Staff were super kind and friendly. The view was beautiful but the food was simply okay. The potatoes were crispy and perfect but simply tasted plain. I liked the cheese that came with the eggs and the bacon was crispy.

Cute outdoor cafe! We heard about this place on Instagram and finally made the trip out. The weather didn't want to cooperate at first as there was heavy fog, but it eventually started to burn off. Still, we weren't able to fully enjoy the views, but the experience was still worth the drive out! Plenty of seating (all outdoor) with trees and umbrellas for sunnier days. Service was friendly and food took ~15-20 mins to come out. What we ordered: Hot chocolate: pretty standard, nothing super special but definitely warmed me up Breakfast burrito: soo good! Came out super hot and flavorful. Pretty filling and was able to share the other half with husband French toast: husband ordered this; had a slight "pumpkin"/fall spice flavor to it..was not a huge fan Blueberry muffin: yummy! Was not expecting to like it as much as I did, and wish we ordered another one There is an onsite parking lot. It was pretty empty when we arrived (around 10:15 AM on a Saturday) but filled up by the time we left. Will definitely stop by again whenever we're in the area!

The Village has stepped up to fill the void and is a gorgeous space that serves as an event and wedding venue, dining destination, but most recently, has opened to offer upscale coffee and pastries in the morning hours. The selection is more limited than Big Sur Bakery but includes a solid choice of coffee drinks and pastries before offering some hot kitchen items like a breakfast sandwich starting at 9:30. The vibes of the building and the indoor and outdoor seating space are top notch with manicured lawns, rustic wood tables and open spaces. The Village only Parking is plentiful and its adjacent to the convenient General Store for supplies and the River Inn for lodging. We ordered a sampling of their $9 lattes (Chai and Matcha) and coffee (espresso tonic) as well as several pastries. The highlight were the candy cap (mushroom) muffins and chocolate chip cookie although I also enjoyed the baguette sandwich. Credit cards are accepted and there's plentiful seating inside and outdoor. Judging by the crowds, The Village is a welcome fancier (albeit pricier) option for those who miss Big Sur Bakery.

Between the amazing people who have become friends over the years to great home cooked meals and atmosphere (the ocean is practically across the road), I cannot get enough of this place! This trip I took a longtime friend with me and although it's been two days since we were there, she's still saying how impressed she was. She was absolutely floored that they use real butter and the portions were huge. In fact the portions were so big that I couldn't even finish half of my food! And I was HUNGRY! I can't believe it don't recall his name! But everyone there is AWESOME! I was tempted to get the super fresh salad, but decided instead on the clam chowder (as did Alicia), and the salmon was perfectly cooked. The veggies were so fresh and flavorful and the rice was exceptionally fluffy and seasoned perfectly. Not to mention the garlic toast was next level. I can't wait to get back over there! Their blueberry pancakes are calling my name! Trust me, if you want a good old fashioned stick to your bones diner, this place right here checks all the boxes! Plus it's pet friendly, if you choose to sit on the patio!
