Overcooked bacon strips. One way worse than the other. Can't believe they even serve this.

Very basic and overpriced. I called in to ask what the wait was like for 3 people. Was told 5 minutes. We got there in 5 minutes and it was packed. And they offered outside or wait 20 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We reluctantly decided outside and it was so cold even while under the heater.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered and got our food. My bacon was overcooked and inedible. I informed the server and he offered me fresh bacon strips. I accepted and they came out hot and cooked well. Just too salty. My eggs were ordered over medium and it came out very runny over easy. The service was meh... Oh! And make sure you have cash on-hand as this is a cash-only business. A few tables sat down and left after they read that disclaimer on the menu.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Little tucked away place, quiet location not to hectic in that area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is little small, old and crowded inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ate outside which is small but was nice and peaceful and had the propane heater on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is good with good portions. I got the Kauai combo, the pancakes are huge and fluffy made with banana so had a really good flavor and the eggs had pineapple inside which i thought was a really good combo! Mango sausage was tasty, everything was paired well. Orange juice is really good and fresh tasting. The country potatoes could use more flavor. Decent prices, i'd say average for the area. Service was just okay, not too friendly or attentive. Didn't receive our bill so my husband got up and went to the register himself to get the bill and pay. *cash only*

Not bad! A popular spot in Carmel, we were lucky enough to get seated immediately (by the time we left there was a wait). I believe they are most known for their eggs Benedict's (they have a ton of variety) but my husband and I aren't fans so we ordered other items. I ordered the Kauai Combo - I did enjoy the pancakes. The pineapples in the eggs were interesting but not my favorite. My husband ordered the corned beef hash n eggs which were fine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Giving it a 3/5 overall because the food was just fine - though portions are large, service was okay and the space was a bit cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wouldn't avoid it but I wouldn't seek it out.

It's a solid no frills breakfast joint. Food quality was good and service was decent. Pancakes are so simple but a lot of places are a let down, but the pancakes here were spot on!

    Ham and cheese omelette

What a hidden gem in beautiful Carmel by the sea. My friend and I arrived right at opening, we received the menus and had our drink order taken quickly. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette with a side of sourdough toast. The omelette was cooked perfectly, it was fluffy with the perfect amount of ham and cheese. The toast was toasted a little too much and the pieces were small. I normally have extra bread when I have breakfast, here I actually wish I had more. The menu is full with options, the only reason I didn't give five stars was because we go offered more water right before asking for the check, I could have used more water before. I will be back for sure to give them a second chance and try something else in the menu

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Katy's is a super tucked away little restaurant! Perfect for morning breakfast or brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Incredible service, all of the staff was so kind and we were seated immediately. (We came on a Sunday morning about 11am) Portion sizes are great, homemade juices and fluffiest waffles I've ever had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Feels like you're eating breakfast at grandmas house but in the best way![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check it out if you're in the area. But bring CASH. They are CASH only :)

    Carmel Joe's Special
    Tiffany C.

Katy's Place in Carmel offers a cozy breakfast spot with friendly, attentive service. The New York Benedict was a standout--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor--while the Carmel Joe's Special was just okay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of seating, but the tables are packed in tight, so expect a bit of a squeeze.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, a great spot for a satisfying breakfast. They are cash only though!

    Lobster Benedict
    Michael W.

The lobster benedict was very good and tasted fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cozy spot right in Carmel-by-the-Sea, with a great atmosphere for breakfast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoyed everything about our visit and will definitely be going back. This will be our go-to breakfast place on our next trip to California.

Mushroom omelet that comes with toast and potatoes, also a side of more mushrooms
    M S.

Tasty and a cute little place in Carmel for breakfast. It had fast customer service and refill of water. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of cute decor that makes you feel like eating at your Grandma's house.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A key tip one must know before sitting down is that this is a Cash ONLY restaurant- they do have signs for it but yes. Will be eating here again when in area (:

Do they still have gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free waffles?

Why do you put this as dog friendly ? That sounds like false advertisement?

Their website states "Dog Policy: service dogs only." So this is not dog friendly unless your dog is a service dog.

It was hustling and bustling and we had to wait about 30 minutes for a party of 7. We ordered the filet mignon, prime rib, bacon wrapped porch chop, fish of the day which was sea bass. For dessert not pictured was the crème burlee, bread pudding, and affogato. Some of us got the same meal. I had the prime rib median well and I wasn't expecting it be so big! It was tender and came with veggies and a baked potato. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the veggies were cooked. I'm not a huge fan of squash but I really enjoyed it. I had left overs because of how big the steak was. We also had a basket of garlic bread which was good. It wasn't the best garlic bread I've had but it was and they gave us a lot. I tried both the bread pudding and affogato which were delicious. All were made in house including the ice cream. Overall, it was a great experience as the ambiance was amazing. It was like three different sections: outside, inside, and closer to the bar area which got really packed. I want to return to experience the Sunday brunch.

I also added a side of bacon and a biscuit with jam. When our food arrived I immediately asked them for butter for my biscuit which then never arrived. At some point my husband got up to ask for butter, while he was gone the server came back and asked how our food was, to which I responded can I please have some butter. She then proceeded to ask me the most ridiculous question of "oh did they not bring you any butter?" To which I responded by presenting her with my butter free table. Oh my husband returned. He told me that apparently they charged $1.50 for butter. When the butter finally arrived more than like 10 or 15 minutes later from the original time that I asked for it, my biscuit was inevitably of course cold. So then when the server did finally come with the butter, I actually told her I was like you know what my biscuit is now cold and I don't have any need for the butter so I just want to send both back. To which she offered to heat up the biscuit... I told her that that wasn't necessary that I just wanted to send it back. When our bill came, they charged us both for the biscuit and for the butter. When my husband let the server know she made a mistake and she forgot to remove the biscuit and butter her she then told him that she had to go talk to her manager. At this point, I already thought it was a little bit weird that she had to have a conversation with her manager about something that she need to remove from the bill, but whatever I didn't really think much of it. A couple minutes later, the manager arrives and asks us if we had any issues with the bill. I let her know that they didn't remove the butter or the biscuit after we sent it back. To which she then now had a new argument for me saying that we had been told on the menu that they charge $1.50 for butter... That wasn't the dispute the dispute was that we sent everything back untouched. So why would we be charged for it? She then proceeded to argue with me telling me that I was very rude. And then she rolled her eyes and only spoke to my husband from that point on. Of course, they ended up removing the butter and the biscuit which by the way came out to a total of $7.50 when she returned, she told me to never come back to the restaurant again. I have never in my life been told any such thing. But, worry not this unnecessarily pretentious group of stationaery employees... I shall never return to this establishment again you couldn't pay me to come back and re-experience this extremely underwhelming throw away of a service ever again.

The peaches were ripe without being overly sweet, the salty cheese offset the fruit perfectly, and the pine nuts added a great bit of texture. The biggest surprise was the gnocchi. I normally avoid gnocchi because I find it too heavy, but our waitress convinced me to try it and I'm so glad she did. It wasn't made with potatoes, so it was much lighter than expected, and the creamy, cheesy sauce was perfect for dipping the bread into. We also shared a half Margherita and half Salumi pizza. The crust was thin and European-style, with fresh ingredients and plenty of cheese. The Margherita was light and flavorful, while the Salumi had great depth from the salami, red onion, and house-made chili oil. We were told the peppers are roasted in the pizza oven, which gave the oil an amazing smoky flavor. Our waitress was incredible. Even in a full restaurant, she made my family feel special. She seemed genuinely excited about the food, the restaurant, and her job, and that enthusiasm made the experience even better. The atmosphere was also so charming. The room we sat in had little building facades that created an almost optical illusion, making it feel like we were dining on a street in France. It's easy to see why La Bicyclette is included in the Michelin Guide. I'll absolutely be coming back anytime I'm in Carmel.

I love corn beef hash and this take with the braised corned beef just spoils you with deliciousness. The poached egg was perfect, I have never braised corned beef but I'm going to learn to try and make a dish like this. My wife got the chicken and waffles, and she gave me some and it was perfect, the one thing that hit the most was the breading on the chicken was so delicious , they made sure the flavor complemented the sweetness of the waffle and syrup, the chicken was tender and with the waffle it was just something else.
