Rise started work on installing insulation in in my home in mid March of 2025. The first group they sent, Energy Geeks, started work and the manager of the group advised he had plans and would be back to finish the following week. A little while later he advised they did all they could but found a leak in the roof and mold in the eves and crawl space and couldn't continue the work upstairs but finished the lower level ( easy to access) and that I would need mold remediation and roof leak fixed before the eves/ crawl space could be done. We just had a new roof put on ( roofing company came out for 3 hours, no leak). Had mold remediation company come out and no mold ( waste of additional money). Had to wait until the first week in July of 2025 to have a different crew come out as I advised I did not want the same crew. A new crew came out and did the work , no issues and advised it was difficult but not impossible to do and that was probably the issue with the original crew. Why couldn't they be honest and say they didn't feel comfortable doing it, it was too tight for them? I had taken out a loan to have the work done and you must have check in hand to have the work done, the work was completed for$615.00 less than what the check was for due to the original quote. Here we are August of 2026, 15 months after the work was done and the difference still has not been paid to the credit union or myself. I have reached out to RISE more than 10 times trying to have the issue resolved and there is always a different excuse, even so far as to say checks in the mail. I was advised they see the over payment and a refund is due. I am still waiting for the difference to be refunded. Would you wait this long for payment RISE? DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE WITH A CHECK UNLESS ITS THE EXACT AMOUNT! You will not get a speedy refund! Strange way to "help" people! read more

They came when scheduled to come, evaluated the site, recommended mitigations, and scheduled the work with an outstanding contractor. As this was done as part of Mass Save, the out of pocket cost to me was nothing. It was excellent value. One small criticism: While the work was in progress, Rise was unavailable to come consider modification of the contract to support more time on task than was scheduled. RISE of RI: Waste of time. Waited months for an "energy audit" at our condo complex and I took time out of work at the last minute when they finally scheduled an appointment to meet them. NO AUDIT, NO INSPECTION. They showed up with a thermostat that I didn't need but did nothing else. So, no recommendations for heat loss mitigation which was the point. Years ago, they visited our condo and make constructive recommendations. The person who arrived with the thermostat had no information to share! I would not recommend wasting your time! read more

The MassSave project in Massachusetts is a great program to help improve home energy efficiency. RISE sent an excellent representative to conduct an energy efficiency audit of our house. He recommended several improvements, which we accepted. A team was assigned to perform the work, which they did very professionally. Fraud!! Beware!! They charged me thousands of dollars for the insulation on Oct 27. Then when the the heat usage (thermos) for Nov, Dec, and early Jan were HIGHER this year, after installation, than last year, they blamed it on temperature being colder this year. I googled the average temperature for Nov, Dec, and Jan this year vs last year and found they lied. Average temperatures were higher or equal this year than last year. I don't know what recourse I have since the project manager Danielle is so rude. Just beware before you waste your thousands of dollars. read more

I can't say enough about the job that Rise did. They replaced lighting in our Knights of Columbus Hall in Cranston. They did the whole building inside and out. The installer Matt they sent was awesome. He let us know every day which part of the building he would be working in so as to not disrupt our business. Each day when he was done for the day he cleaned everything up so we had no mess to deal with. He did 2 event halls and the outside of the building in a little over 1 week. Matt made our job go very smoothly and did everything correctly from the beginning. We are very happy with Rise and can't wait to see our savings after changing out all the wasteful old lighting. would give them a zero is I could! We have been TRYING to contact Dan Ankahs and Nick Teabault with NO RETURN CALLS. RISE was contracted to do our attic and the company they sent damaged my ceiling, PAID for the ceiling repair which ADMITS THEY WERE responsible and now we cannot get anyone to call us back to get the painter in to finish the ceiling. RISE is supposed to be responsible for their contractors. Is it too much to ask for a return call!? I would have appreciated a response. Social media was NOT my first choice for action but when a company PROMISES responsibility and then wont even call us back, now they have left us with a WORSE situation as my UNPAINTED ceiling and they continue to IGNORE this issue, wont return calls AND ITS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS!!! I had a Home Energy Assessment done by National Grid. They sent out a representative from Rise Engineering who did an inspection of my home. Upon completion of their testing, inspection and evaluation, they found I was losing temperatures seasonally at a 2 to 1 rate. Prior to leaving my home, I was given a copy of a contract that would require me to pay less than 10% on an $8000 insulation job for the attic of my home. In my case, there was a section from the original quote that the contractor was not able to insulate, and prior to him leaving my house he had re-printed the quote, minus the area they were not able to complete. Approximately one week later the inspector from Rise Engineering came out and signed off on the work. Approximately four weeks after completion of the job, I received the bill for my portion of the program. One of the incentives they do offer is a no interest loan over a short period of time if you qualify , or you can pay it in whole when the bill arrives. Would definitely recommend anybody that is a national grid customer to have an energy assessment done. You will save money. read more

From the start, Rise Eng. was professional, prompt and thorough. The assessment team arrived on time, clearly identified themselves and the process then went to work. One member of the team went through the entire house, basement and garage to count all the incandescent light bulbs. He then replaced them w energy-efficient LEDs worth over $200, at no cost to me. That's right, free of charge. The other assessor completed his inspection and printed his report and recommended energy-saving improvements totaling $6,500. My final cost was only $1,200 with rebates and discounts. The improvements will be completed by an approved MassSaves contractor and their work will be inspected by MassSaves. Rise Eng. is honest, unbiased and objective. The future savings will cover my cost in short order. This is a major WIN for consumers and I highly recommend that you call MassSaves now. read more

Don't waste your time and money with these people. I had 3 of their inspectors come out all saying different things about the moisture. None knowing how to fix it. I then had 3 different independent contractors come out to try and figure out the issue that they created. All agreed that there was too much insulation and not enough ventilation. They didn't do a good job to begin with, and now I have a potential mold issue. read more

RISE ENGINEERING is supposed to provide Mass Save Energy assessments to increase the energy efficiency of homes in Massachusetts. They do not. Be very wary of this company. They have poorly trained unprofessional assessors. I think this may be a sham organization to meet some type of utility regulation. I had an independent energy assessor do a complete audit. Then they said in order to get the "rebates" I had to have it done again by this company. Big mistake! Better to just find a a reputable company to do insulation and install a new furnace if needed until Liberty Utilities gets serious about really doing energy assessments. read more

A phone call did set up a new service date to complete the project. I was there on the day at the time window--no show by Rise Energy. Two subsequent phone messages--no responses. Review of Rise Engineering, the company in Rhode Island that you contract to do your energy audits. PLEASE READ THIS! AND PLEASE SHARE!! We were new homeowners and saw that National Grid did energy audits. We called and made an appointment for our old Victorian house in Warwick. The whole point was to reduce energy cost in our house. Two nice guys came and did the whole lightbulb replacement stuff, did some sealing, etc. IF ONLY WE'D STOPPED THERE! They came up with a list of repairs and improvements, and since they seemed so nice and the program paid 50%, we agreed to the tune of $5,000. The contractors came with a work list that they immediately altered and changed (you need this, you don't need this), and we deferred to their knowledge, and by all appearances they did a good job. But when winter came, we saw no improvements in our energy use, blower tests, etc. So we called, and they sent out a couple of new engineers who found a part of the house that had been missed and had contractors come and insulate it. STILL NO IMPROVEMENT, HOUSE IS STILL FREEZING. So we called again. And they came out again, and this time, said the root problem was a vent in our basement near the furnace (which had been there the entire time). And they let us know that they don't repair that kind of thing. So the question we asked was: Why are we paying you for all this work when by your own admission it was frivolous and not the issue? Their answer? Because we did the work, frivolously or not. And then they sued us. WORST THING WE EVER DID WAS GO FURTHER THAN THE FREE ENERGY AUDIT! And if you read the other comments on their site, all the positive comments are from people who did the energy audit and nothing more. The negative comments are all from people like us who trusted Rise Engineering when they said they could help. read more

My home was woefully under insulated . I had Mass Saves do an audit and they contracted with Rise Engineering to do the work. Original plan was they would need 3 days to do it. But when Keith A. came that first day he had to make adjustments for more insulation. He, Chris S. and Tristan got right to work. Then they were able to bring a second truck and crew in (Keith G. and Peter C.) that afternoon. By 6:30pm I had my cellar sealed, insulation blown under my aluminum siding and my attic floor, stairs and door insulated. The cost: $1200. The people so nice, so competent. When I bought my home last year, I was told by my realtor to call RISE Engineering and have them do an energy assessment. Their assessor walked me through the tests he was doing and why he was doing them, it was very informative. Once he was done, RISE recommended that I get about $2,000 worth of insulation blown into the attic and a few other things that would make the house more energy efficient. They also set me up with contractors to do the work. The best part is that I received a 75% discount on all the work, so I paid a little under $500 dollars for everything that was done. The upstairs bedrooms are much less drafty, and my utility bills are not high at all. If you just bought a home, I would highly recommend calling RISE and getting an assessment - great team, great work - very pleased! read more

Had a great experience with RISE this morning. Marshall came out and did a pretest. I had no idea what he was doing, or why, all i knew was that our house was drafty, an obviously poorly insulated. He explained everything as he was doing it, in ways that I could understand. He went above and beyond. I usually hate when people come in to do work in my home, but he was awesome. He was so upbeat, you could tell he loved his job, and made me feel completely comfortable with him in my home. When I spoke with Joanne to schedule the appointment (another awesome experience, she was so helpful and knowledgeable), I was a little hesitant to make the appointment for 8am on a Saturday, because I'm used to people not showing up on time, and taking forever, and thought it was going to take up a good portion of my day, but Marshall showed up on time, got everything done quickly, and was gone well before 10am. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to having the rest of the work done. read more

I contracted with RISE via National Grid for a home energy audit. I took time out of work on April 6 to meet with the auditors. They did an ok job...one complaint was they missed replacing some obvious outdoor spotlights with their LED bulbs. Where they really dropped the ball though is following up. I wanted to go forward with one of their recommendations and after over a month and email correspondence with their "specialist", I have not even been scheduled for a time to have that work done. I know I chose the $120 option versus the $4,000 option, but they should not matter. I can't help but think they are more focused on selling the big jobs than actually saving me money and utilizing electricity more efficiently. The $120 job is to replace thermostats that do NOT completely shut off the electric heat! I feel like I should send them a bill for the time I took out of work since apparently I did it for nothing! read more

Junk service from the initial contact to the mess they left me to clean up. Can't believe how much they paid the guys for 4 hours of work. Look on your electric bill, it's terrifying to think we pay into this program. Since we live in a communist country, we are forced to pay into this program (I would never). Don't get me started on the person who is suppose to inspect their work, an absolute waste. From start to finish just some of the most terrible service and they are not fully knowledgable of what to do in your house. Do not take their advice, it comes from a script and not an actual contractor who know's what they are talking about. They give you no options other than the script they read from and there are a handful of ways I could address the issues they pointed out. What a terrible experience and a ton of time put in. After they left I had to spend more money and go over their work because it was done so poorly. Sticky stuff all over walls, my appliances, etc. Hell, I only excepted only 10% of the work they recommended and they said they sent the best team to my house, scary. read more
