Slow service that was due to only 3 people running the shop. The food was okay, nothing special, but their sodas were nice and refreshing! Love the old soda memorabilia everywhere

Lynette and I were on our way to Lubbock, Texas when I noticed a sign for a Museum at West Texas A&M at Canyon.  It's an awesome Museum but by the time we came out we were hungry.  Driving to the downtown square we discovered a little time machine of a restaurant, Rocking Zebra Soda Shoppe.  This place is AWESOME.  It took me back to my childhood when my buddies and I would go to the Walgreens or Woolworth Soda fountains in downtown Elmhurst, Illinois.  This place has all the same sort of burgers, sandwiches, phosphates, milk shakes and malts.  You can add flavors to your fountain drinks. Plus the ice cream sundaes and banana splits. And everything is just as good as you remember.  The service is friendly,  like you've know the waitress for years.  Plus the atmosphere (and the music on the jukebox) takes you back like it's the 50s or early sixties.  They also sell alot of the old fashioned candy and craft sodas. Yes, there is a time machine, and it's located in Canyon, Texas.

What a wonderful spot for a quick lunch or to satisfy that sweet tooth! The staff are fantastic and the 50's/60's vibe in the front with the 80's in the back is SO FUN!!!! They have a diner feel with soda bar and booth as well as diner tables. Records hang from the ceiling, cola memorabilia and decor deck the walls and "Sh Boom" from The Chords tells you how "life would be a dream, sweetheart"! In the back a lunch box wall takes you back to the 80's with the gremlins and MASK!

Sundae perfect-sized to finish off lunch.

Great Rueben followed by a tasty sundae. Service was pleasant, even met the owner. The atmosphere is fun. Interesting decor.

Great little restaurant! A blast from the past with lots of memorabilia. Good food and ice cream.

The atmosphere is amazing, I love getting milkshakes and limeades! The food is pretty good but the ice cream is to die for!

We ate at the Rocking' Zebra in June. Love it, don't miss it, if you like soda shop nostalgia.

They were both wonderful. I'm usually not too impressed with most cakes and cupcakes from any place that isn't home made and these were absolutely wonderful. The buttercream frosting was spot-on, creamy and delicious, just the right amount of sweetness. The girl even told me their frosting wasn't overly sweet and I see why she mentioned that. It was a perfect match with the rich moist chocolate cake. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that the case that used to have cinnamon rolls was missing. I mentioned it to the girl because I remembered how good their cinnamon rolls were. She said they didn't sell cinnamon rolls anymore which was disappointing. She mentioned a new owner took over last October. Whoever she is she's doing it right, cinnamon rolls are not. I can get those at Kind House Bakery or Girasol Bakery. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the girl answered my questions cheerfully. She forgot to mention their cupcakes were so delicious I can't wait to go back and get another. I'm upping my previous review from 4 stars to 5.

The cashier was very friendly, and there were lots of gluten free, vegan, and sugar free options, as well as regular options as well. Day old treats are always a great alternative to fully priced fresh ones, so that addition was appreciated. Only critique is that the cookies were a little overpriced; it was $10 for one regular s'mores cookie and one chocolate gluten free and vegan cookie. They were good cookies, but not incredibly memorable. Regardless, would definitely recommend and return!
