I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was deeply disappointing…read more I sought treatment here for TMJ/orofacial pain and went through multiple appointments, including imaging and digital scans for a custom appliance. After investing significant time and multiple trips to the office, communication became increasingly frustrating and inconsistent. I was told my appliance appointment had to be rescheduled because of a delay, only to later receive a termination letter ending the provider-patient relationship due to an alleged "breakdown in the therapeutic relationship." What bothered me most was not simply the termination, but the lack of clear, straightforward communication regarding the status of treatment already in progress. Matters that should have been simple became unnecessarily complicated. If you are considering this clinic, I would strongly encourage asking detailed questions upfront about billing, insurance coverage, timelines, and how unresolved treatment plans are handled if issues arise. This was an unexpectedly stressful and disappointing experience.

Each time I'd go in and seek help, I'm always met w/the same spiel of: "everything looks normal", "you're still young", "just stretch", 'specialist this-specialist that' blah blah bs. My Landlord, a former pt, highly recommended Airrosti after she noticed I was limping and I told her I was having sciatic pain that got triggered after a workout. I made an appt and was quickly scheduled to see Dr.Barragan. I'm ngl, I didn't have much confidence- given my history of being dismissed by white coats time & again. But I'm so glad I gave Airrosti a shot! and I strongly recommend anyone on the fence, to do the same! My appt started on time. I was seen by Dr. Barragan. Dr. B was very friendly & chatty right off the bat & it put me a bit at ease. Dr. Barragan *listened and asked questions re injury. Not only did he tell me (w/confidence) that he knew what was going on w/me but that he could help!! And help he did! Dr. B's got the magic touch Y'all!!: I went from constant chronic pain-to more tolerable flexibility on my hip & legs and the pain/tension I had on my back- it went from constant to way more tolerable in the hour I was in his office. The techniques, Dr. B used (though painful) were just what my body needed to help get 'that release', I hadn't been able to get anywhere else. The only downside is the steep cost if your insurance doesn't cover the appts. But the way I'm currently feeling vs how I was feeling 2wks ago is Def worth the cost. I def recommend Dr. Barragan !! She went to UW Med School, so extra points for that! Another cool thing is that Swedish uses MyChart, an online personal health record system where you can see your medical history, appointments, messages from your doctor, etc. Strangely, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that Dr. Karmali did not have any openings until January 2015. When my spine doctor initially recommended I try to make an appointment with Jason Attaman for a…read morebilateral nerve ablation, I vividly remember the hesitation in his voice. In fact, I recall him speaking the word "hesitant" in the same sentence as Attaman's name. My spine doctor mentioned two other clinics, but he said I could probably get an appointment sooner with Attaman than with the other two; he was right. The other two clinics were scheduling months out, so against my better judgment, I contacted Attaman's office. The initial appointment in September 2021 was easy to set up, and as I look back on it, I question the reason for the appointment. It was by video, and I learned very little other than that Attaman wanted me to get a second diagnostic nerve block (I had already had blocks on both sides) before he would do the ablation. From September through December 2021 on, communication with Attaman's office was a nightmare. God forbid I should miss a call from them while I was at work or wait a day to respond to an email they sent in the late afternoon, because it would take weeks to get back in touch with them. I suspect most of Attaman's patients, like me, are in considerable pain. The communication difficulties, under those circumstances, were agonizing for me. Every communication, in particular with "Jiji" would require multiple calls, voicemails, emails, and emails to others in the office to try to get her to respond. Aside from one medical assistant named Mina, it was almost as though Attaman's office didn't want me as a patient. Eventually, three months after the initial appointment, Attaman performed the procedure, but only on one side, despite his office telling me he'd do both sides in the same appointment. So, two months after my nerve ablation on one side, I had the pleasure of dealing with his office to schedule the other side. That procedure ended up happening in February 2022. So I had two separate procedures with Attaman. Did they work to relieve my pain? Not at all. If anything the pain was worse even months after the procedures. Does this mean Attaman did a bad job with the procedure? I have no idea. However, with any other doctor, I would have gone back and discussed the results and tried to figure out next steps. This sounds dramatic, but dealing with Attaman's office was so traumatizing, there's no way I would see him again. Also, although I don't think personal attacks are helpful, and each person experiences others differently, suffice to say, for me personally, I was put off by Attaman's bedside manner. In the fall of 2022, I requested that Attaman's records for me be sent to my doctor's office. They didn't send them. Surprise! Eventually my new doctor's office called them, reached someone, and got the records. When she talked to me about dealing with Attaman's office, I could hear the frustration in her voice. I had largely forgotten about Attaman until December 2022 when I received a bill from him for $600. I noticed that the visit dates were wrong on the bill so I called his office in mid-December and left a voicemail for "Jackie." Can you guess what happened? Yep, no return call. So at the beginning of February 2023 (still no return call), a year and five months after my first appointment with Attaman, I just sent him a check. Two weeks later I got another bill. I called Attaman's office (haha, yes I'm a glutton) and chose the option for calls from other physicians. When I told them what I needed, I was transferred again to the mysterious Jackie. There was no way I was leaving another voicemail for this person who had been ignoring my first voicemail for a month and a half. I called again on the physcian's line and demanded to know whether my check had been received. The person on the other end was able to confirm receipt within one minute of me calling. Dear god, let me forget Attaman's name! If I could go back, I would absolutely have waited to schedule with one of the other clinics/providers. So should you.

Utterly inept. Spinal cord damage Occipital neuralgia, a painful condition that is described as debilitating by all credible sources. The UW wanted to stop all treatment and pain care: if they had been successful, I would be screaming in bed all day, every day, instead of living my life. They were trying to hurt me. Thoracic scoliosis (also missed by every single UW employee, even though it was glaringly obvious to even a layman in my imaging) Several missed Tarlov cysts in my spine I was told I need an almost complete surgical ribcage reconstruction due to numerous abnormalities likely stemming from further discovered abnormalities in my spine and pelvis. I had 100% government disability in addition to my very recent failed neck surgery: still, untrained, unspecialized doctors told me I was lying for attention. Hilary Iskin even told me she didn't bother to look through my chart, but had still decided I was faking it based off of pure prejudice and preconceived notions. David Rink used past sexual violence committed against me as psychological "evidence" that I was fabricating my profound and extensively documented health conditions, and put fraudulent and libelous information in my chart. Both of them refused to make any referrals for me to speak to specialists - they even refused to refer me to an orthopedist after my spinal surgery. They hurt and stymied me and my family. The fact that I have been violently raped (with legal proceedings) made David Rink inherently suspicious of my ability to report honestly about my body. This is blatant and insidious misogyny, and Rink should lose his ability to access the charts of any female patients for the rest of his life. He should not have the ability to work with any victims ever again. He should not be in medicine. Hospital staff asked me about the rape, and Rink pounced on that information - I never would've told him I was assaulted, as he had already raised his voice at me by this point for asking questions about his proposed "treatment" (only antidepressants, which time.com says is a toxic, widespread, and misogynistic practice that sexist doctors use to invalidate disbelieved chronically ill women). Sexual/psychological history is supposed to be protected information in patient charts. I feel violated a second time, as he used my assault that he learned about without my knowledge or consent to revictimize me, all because I had the gall to have been a victim, and to have trauma, pain, and a medical history that he wasn't competent, integrous, or academically curious enough to decipher. I believe he is hateful, profoundly judgmental, sexist (an accusation I take seriously and have never before levied against anyone), and deeply dangerous to the well-being of anyone he doesn't personally understand ... which will be many, as he's still in training. Iskin is the sort of woman who says she champions women's rights, but is actually a judgmental mean girl - she was even weirdly passive aggressive about my skirt. Please, if you're a woman, consider a different doctor. She's stereotypically medically misogynistic and does not believe women's pain. Despite having 9 weeks to prepare for my appointment, she read nothing about me, and then declared nothing was wrong because she saw nothing (!!). Her medical neglect and malpractice snowballed into the rest of the abuse I suffered at the UW. Her cruelty, laziness, and abject lack of care or consideration changed the course of my life. I wonder what it is about me that made Iskin decide to dismiss me entirely before even speaking to me. My age? My sex? My autism? My disability? ... we'll find out in court. The UW constitutionally changed how I feel about doctors: I was diagnosed with C-PTSD by a therapist who specializes in medical trauma. I feel so much fear that I no longer go to appointments without an advocate, which has changed my life significantly as I'm disabled and have many regular appointments. I'm confident I almost died multiple times during a string of UW hospitalizations involving spinal procedures with major complications. The UW is a misogynistic and incompetent organization with residents who hurt, maim, and kill. At the encouragement of my new medical team, I'll be suing, and speaking publicly about these "doctors" and the UW for the rest of my life. More in my previous reviews. (Don't listen to the reviews on the UW Medicine website - you can't submit reviews online and won't find a single physician rated under 4.8, it's corrupt. Turn to healthgrades, where these doctors have a 1 or a 2 rating.)

She recommended three treatments in one week, and for all of them I was on the table 45 minutes or longer (I believe one was an hour and a half). When I inquired as to the ideal frequency of visits I was told that coming in as often as possible is best. After the third visit, my health crashed with incapacitating symptoms of overexertion. I also began having significant breathing trouble from an ongoing throat issue that Dr. Steinecker had been fully briefed on in our first meeting. After several hours of throat wheezing with each breath I made contact with Dr. Steinecker, calmly communicated what was happening, and was advised to "talk myself down" and counseling was the recommended treatment. I now see a different cranial osteopath. The throat/breathing issue also happened the day after my second treatment from him. Rather than assuming psychological origin, he made various physiological recommendations that relieved the situation and has since identified the problem. Also, he finds that half an hour every 2-3 weeks is plenty and is extremely cautious about over-treating any of his patients. I solicited a third opinion from another cranial osteopath who agreed the treatment I received from Steinecker was far more than *any* person ought to be given at once, let alone someone in my state. Devorah is a humorous, easy-going, compassionate doctor with skilled hands and significant ability to sense exactly what manipulation is called for and where in order to alleviate pain and other issues. It's mind-blowing, and if that's all you need then you may well have a satisfying experience as her patient.
