They had our truck for about a month (yes a long time, but this truck has spent more time in the shop than the road, so we're used to it). They replaced the injectors that they initially said were bad, but it didn't fix the problem of no power. They continued diagnostics until our truck was running properly. All in all, the job should have been over $6,000, but that was not the quote they gave us, so they didn't charge us that. They replaced parts and didn't charge us extra labor. They were determined to find and fix the issue. They did. Our truck has never ran this well. We are extremely satisfied and will be returning there for all future needs with any of our vehicles.

MINIs are built to last, and many owners take pride in maintaining their cars well beyond that mark. To be turned away simply because of the age of the car -- at an authorized dealership -- shows a lack of commitment to loyal customers and the brand's community. A car's age should not disqualify it from proper service, especially when MINI promotes durability and long-term ownership. MINI USA needs to take responsibility for this policy and ensure that all MINI owners -- regardless of model year -- can count on the dealership network for support.

These are not wear-and-tear issues -- they are serious engine problems that should never happen so soon after purchase. This experience has been stressful, expensive, and unacceptable. They told me there had been one previous owner, that was true. They told me it was a commuter vehicle, explicitly claiming it was not a work truck. The first time time I washed it, a business logo appeared on the back windows. It can only be seen in certain light, with a thin layer of moisture applied. But, it does seem like it was, in fact, a work truck. Next up, come time around a year after purchase. Paint on hood, bumper and above wheels faded. The paint does not appear to be original on these parts. Lost their shine. I would speculate they aren't even the original parts. I do not know the details, but reviewing the carfax I see the vehicle was partially rebuilt just before the ownership transferred from the original owner to Charlton. But they did not mention that. Did they not know? Or did they just lie to me?. I guess when the dealer tells you something to your face, you have to check the carfax and not trust what they tell you. But I did not know that. I was young and naive (still am maybe). Thirdly, the salesman mentioned he had been driving the vehicle personally prior to the sale. I would rather not know that the salesmen drive around in the vehicles until they are sold. That kind of taints the experience, eh? Fourthly, when going over financials, the salesman asked how I made my money and complimented my salary. Next, he bragged that he, in fact, made more money than I did. Well, good for him. Upset, he interrupted me, raised his voice, talked over me, insulted my intelligence, and tried to bully me into authorizing the repairs, saying "You WILL call me back this afternoon and you WILL tell me to repair your car." Considering his treatment of me, when I went to retrieve my car, he overcharged me, forcing me to pay $60 more than he quoted me for the diagnosis. He also demanded that I pay in cash and then, made me wait 20 minutes for change. Never once did I receive a sincere, voluntary apology. For anyone considering repairs, don't waste your time here.

But the expertise and service sure will. The owner, Wolf, has been doing this for decades and really knows about cars. Their guys replaced my entire engine in less time than it took the dealership to even look at and diagnose my car. If I'd have towed my car directly to Dallas Auto Hospital instead, it would have saved me a thousand dollars in towing and replacement car rental fees. The other great thing about DAH is that they will try to find the least expensive way to fix the car - they won't mysteriously "find" all these problems that don't really exist, just to jack up the bill. Because my auto expertise is (to be generous, LOL) extremely limited, I rely on honest people like this to tell me what's going on. Wolf also gave me some helpful tips like "never let your gas tank get below 1/4 of a tank, because it puts sediment into the system." Great to know, and I'd never heard that. There are customers who've moved away from the Metroplex, who still bring their cars to DAH - folks who've been using them for 20+ years. That tells you a lot.
