Extraordinary! Everything we ordered was absolutely perfect. This is truly an authentic Mediterranean restaurant with the perfect choices of dinner options. We started the evening scouring the menu for tonight's choices and settled on pierogies and falafel for an appetizer. The warm pierogies with potato and cheese filling had the right amount of creamy texture with the perfect crunch. The falafel with tahini and garlic sauce completed the appetizer. I saved some of the tahini sauce to have with the falafel wrap. The pita bread filled with falafel and veggies, accompanied by a side of tahini sauce, was the perfect balance for an evening meal. I noticed quite a few people coming in for dessert, which included the cheesecake. Admittedly, I was too full to enjoy the cheesecake at the restaurant, so I ordered a baklava cheesecake to go. It was amazing! The crunchiness of the sweet baklava paired with the cheesecake is a perfect balance to the tanginess of the cheesecake. The quality of ingredients and flavors used are perfect in every dish. The selection of food choices is hand-selected and crafted to perfection. Phenomenal restaurant! Excellent place!! You know how sometimes you get to a place right before they close and they give you attitude?? Well not here! Tonight I was the a-hole who shows up 30 minutes before closing time but EVERYONE was very warm and welcoming!! We started with loaded hummus which also came with this like flat bread pizza that was great. For my main course I didn't know what I wanted but had it narrowed down to 2 chicken dishes. I asked my waitress for her input and she told me not to get either because "chicken is boring" okay then!! I got a Cuban sandwich which was very good. As a side I got the tomato cucumber salad which was also very good. The chef came out near the end of dinner to check on us and see how we were doing. We sat outside on the patio because it was a lovely evening so I can't really speak to the ambiance but the patio was very nice!! I'd definitely come here again I only wish my traveling partner had heeded my advice and we could have come here before our last night in town!! read more

We were staying in South Charleston for several days and this was on our short list for dinner every night of our visit. Finally, on our last night, we finally made it in. It did not disappoint! We started with the loaded hummus. Phenomenal. Loaded is a perfect description. I ordered the Olive Tree gyro. Fantastic flavor. I paired it with the cucumber and tomato salad delightful. The meal was surprisingly filling and I waddled out of there like a stuffed grape leaf. Oh and I had Merlot for my beverage. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The chef stopped by the our table. Super friendly and inviting. It was a lovely evening and we sat outside. All in all, I'd call this a delicious and wonderful dining experience. read more

I do not recommend going here. First of all the Owner was very argumentative and condescending. He did not want to hear of anything that they did wrong. We went for the Mother's Day brunch and it was a disaster. We were put into some back room it had no decoration. It was just table set up. There was no salt, pepper or sugar on any of the tables. The food was set up outside and we had to walk a little ways to get our food. The only thing that was served hot was the fried chicken. Everything else was stone cold! the fruit and cheese was picked over by the time we got there and kids had rummage through everything with their hands and was tossed all over the place and it was just a messy gross disaster and they refused to refill what was missing. Nothing was cleaned up after people had spilled and dropped crumbs in different things. It was left dirty and sloppy looking. Also, we got the dessert table and everything was taken ....after three attempts of asking they finally put out a small bowl of fruit and a small plate of desserts, but we never did get any cheeses or anything because they refuse to refill anything. They charge $50 a plate for this. It was not worth it. And it's very much a shame because the food seemed like good quality. It just was served cold when it should've been hot and there wasn't enough food to go around for the amount of people that were there and they refused to refill anything. Only after nagging, we got a tiny bowl of fruit and a few desserts put on a small plate. read more

The service was great, and the food was equally as good... We ordered a couple gyros, with cucumber and tomato salad, house potato salad, and baklava (some of the best of I've had since being in Turkey). We'll stop by again when staying in Charleston. The apricot jam on their charcuterie board is simply to die for. It reminds me a lot of what a hot honey resembles. In addition to what is pictured, I had the tabbouleh salad which was fresh, zippy, and tart-- just as a perfect tabbouleh salad should be! The music playlist with the pairing of their outdoor dining is something I genuinely appreciate as this dinner was shared with my dad whom I've not seen in person for many months. What a busy evening in this restaurant. Every staff person was extremely busy and each one did their job with efficiency. Yum what a great gem in South Charleston. On a business trip we stayed at the Fairfield Inn and this fabulous restaurant was a block away. So close. Walked over and the restaurant was very spacious and they offer outdoor seating as well. We ordered the shawarma sandwich and also a gyros sandwich. Both were delicious. I really enjoyed the gyros slightly more. It just was very tasty. We also got the baba ganoush which I loved. The hummus was good too but I just enjoyed the ganoush a bit more. We also got the baklava and the special of the week butter cake which were both fantastic. Highly recommend this spot. I'm most certainly visiting the Olive Tree again when I return. read more

I came here for the first time last month and forgot to leave a review. For appetizers, I had the fried feta. I was a little nervous to try it, but it ended up being really good especially with the apricot preserves. I also had the shrimp ceviche, and it was really good. I would've preferred a bit more shrimp compared to all the peppers and onions, but overall it was still delicious. The chips that came with it were amazing too. My girlfriend had the turkey club, which she kept raving about she had it once before and loved it. I tried the Tony P burger, and it was great. I would definitely come back. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée cheesecake, and it was excellent. I highly recommend it! The food definitely won't disappoint, especially if you're in the mood for something a little different. The vibes were great. I also had a sangria, and that was great as well! The chef even came around while we were eating to check in and ask how everything was which we really appreciated. Nearly took my 90 year old mother to the Olive Tree for lunch. Parking lot was full, so dropped Mom and my wife off and parked next door. By the time I got back, they were seated outside. My wife explained that they offered either outside or at a high table (not good for Mom). At 59 degrees, I decided it was too cold, so went to get the car to pick them up and eat elsewhere. By the time I got back, they were seated at a regular table indoors. We waited ten minutes, and tried to get someone's attention to wipe off the wet table and bring menus and silverware. Finally, the last straw. A server showed up and very sarcastically asked "You want menus and silverware, is that right?" Instead of answering, "No, we plan on guessing your offerings and eating with our hands", I said " No, we're leaving". We had a wonderful lunch at Elephant Thai on a clean, dry table with attentive, friendly service. We may give Olive Tree another chance, but the odds aren't good! read more

Our server was very impatient with us ordering when we requested more time to look over the menu she said no.
