Have tried Rita's Crepes twice at the Bethesda's Farmer's Mkt. I had to wait more than 20 minutes each time for order (it was not a fluke the first time) and ended up tossing today's crepe. The teenage making my order sneezed while she was making my crepe - into her gloved hand that she used to make my food. The crepe was so burnt that it was crispy and fell apart when she folded it. I'm t was very disappointing to toss a $14 crepe into the trash after a long wait but it was inedible and unsanitary. read more

I got Rita's Crepes at the Georgetown farmer's market (which happens every Wednesday in the spring-late summer months) and while I enjoyed the crepes I think they are overpriced. I totally understand that this is a small business, but I found the prices a bit high for what they offered. Nevertheless they do taste good and if you're in the mood for a crepe and want to treat yourself then you should go for it! My go to is the chicken pesto crepe. I love Rita's, which I was thrilled to find outside the MOM's Organic Market in Alexandria. I was not familiar with them, but I love crepes so had to try. I ordered a caprese and it was delicious. What I appreciate most is the crispness to the actual crepe. Some places serve these soft, pale crepes that have barely touched a grill and that do not hold up. But not Rita's. The crepe was perfect and I look forward to returning. read more

For me, lack of professionalism is almost as bad as bad product. I don't know what kind of operation these guys are running, but if they keep up this way they're not going to last very long. The way that they were bumbling about, you'd think this was their first day in business. Apparently there was supposed to be someone else making crepes... some guy named Abdul (who, according to their conversation, is notorious for leaving work for indiscriminate and indefinite amounts of time) who is nowhere to be found. In the meantime, the lady who took my order acted like she was going to start making my order. She put the salmon in the bowl, then stopped and got on her phone. Huh?? While she's on her call, Abdul comes strolling cavalierly into the tent talking about he "had to v. meet a person". Unfortunately, he too lacked a sense of urgency in getting orders completed 15 minutes for a crepe, when there's no line, is just unacceptable. As for the crepe itself, I've had better. I ordered the Lox crepe with salmon, diced red onions, cream cheese, and spinach. The crepe was way under filled and my first four to five bites were nothing but the shell. If I hadn't watched them make it myself, I would have sworn that it's was empty inside. Once I got to the filling it was better, but it was not worth the wait. read more

I wanted the crepe with avocado, but again they were out of it, so I settle for the caprese, first we waited on line, nobody advised us to give the ticket to the person that was making the crepes. It really confusing as when you first walked to the stand isn't a sign where to order, also you have to te I've the ticket to the person who is cooking. Rita who was cooking was mad that my girlfriend after waiting on the line grabbed the next veggie crepe as somebody after us order two of them. I though you wait online for a reason. On top of that my crepe was blind, yes with two and half pieces of mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of tomato. Maybe next time I order the basil crepe as that it was I was given. I have eaten a few time there and I have to said that the quality today wasn't the best. If you run out of ingredients please don't make the crepe. read more

This is their third or fourth winter at the Falls Church farmers market. Up till this year, they were great. Appears they have new staff this season, though, and quality has fallen off a cliff. Previous years' crew knew how to get the form and done-ness just right. Today, the guy working the griddle seemed to just not care. Stuffing a gummy crepe that looks like a dog had chewed on it into a paper crepe holder guarantees that the whole thing is going to refuse to be neatly eaten. In sum, what used to be great now sucks and I won't be going back unless I notice the original seasons' crew working. read more

If only the cashier at the Rita's Bethesda Farmers Market told me before she swiped my credit card that I would need to wait 20-, but in fact, 30-minutes for what turned out to be a flavorless chicken pesto crepe, I could have easily gone to any of the other market stalls offering better options at the same price. I won't make that mistake twice. Now that you've read this review, you can avoid that mistake too..., unless you're not thinking straight because, say, you're hungover, or writing a book entitled "Mediocre Crepes of The Mid-Atlantic." Funny thing is I didn't notice too many customers in front of me. Maybe it's online ordering that might be driving the traffic?? I guess people will eat shoe leather if you put Nutella on it. read more

Tried them at Pike & Rose farmers market. Not impressed! Crepes were thick and overcooked. The fillings barely had any flavor. Overall, the chef seemed disinterested and workmanship was pathetically sloppy. There are better stalls at every farmers market. Do not recommend. read more

This is a review from their stand at the Mosaic Farmers' Market. Customer service was poor (employees acted like they didn't want to be there) and one employee was sitting in the back on his cell phone with earphones in, occasionally grabbing an ingredient and eating it, while the other staff were getting behind on orders. The staff worked incredibly inefficiently and as a result it took forever to get orders out. They had 4 griddles, only two of which were being used, and two of the four employees were not actively working. Then while I was in line and orders started backing up, one of the employees made a crepe for himself and left! The quality of the crepe was not very good either. It was way overcooked and they were out of multiple ingredients which were simply left out or put into the crepe minimally (i.e. I received ONE caper in my lox crepe). It would have been much better if I was just told that those ingredients were out and been given the option to get something else instead. read more

Perfect crepes, with lots of filling options. At the Bethesda Farmer's Market (Sunday at BES), they are the closest stand to the entrance off Arlington Road. Nutella crepes are a hit with the kids. Fruit options are seasonal, for example in July-August you can get fresh peaches. The people making the crepes know their business--fun to watch them lay out the batter, flip, and fold. read more

We come to the Mosaic farmers market fairly often and stopping at Rita's to grab a crepe is part of our ritual. It usually takes a while as there's always a decent line. Their process is a little confusing because you have to stand in one line to order and pay, then another to give them your ticket to actually make your order. We've had a few bad experiences lately where they have messed up our order. Today we ordered their goat cheese crepe, requesting they add some chicken sausage. Well instead of the usually delicious crepe, we got a crepe literally just goat cheese and chicken. We had to throw them out. Very disappointing. read more

My wife and I went to Rita's Crepes at the Bethesda Farmers Market, held weekly at Bethesda Elementary School. After paying for our crepes the cashier points at the tip jar and says, "are you going to tip or are you from India?" After walking away without saying anything, in shock by her rudeness, she follows me out from behind the cash register and grabs my arm and states that "I am from there and it is a fact. Indians don't tip" then walks back to the cash register. I ask to speak to the manager who's response is, "well she is Indian." I was shocked and disgusted by this type of racist behavior on part of an establishment at the Bethesda Farmers Market, and the response from the manager. read more
