I think the core pharmacy is fantastic. Friendly, accomplished and they seem to go out of their way to help and do it with a great sense of humor. I also think the sales ladies are helpful and have good customer service. I must agree with other people that have had a problem with the manager, Michael Hsu. I have dealt with his abrupt rude behavior on many occasions. He seems to be a good worker, however, maybe he could take some classes in customer service and dealing with the public. I suggest using the pharmacy, and go to one of the other sales people. read more

The store manager (Mike?) was extremely rude and impatient. An additional item was rung up on my bill, and I didn't notice it until I had already paid for the items. I asked for the amount to be refunded, which it was, but not the full amount as I had used those stupid Plenti Points. So it refunded a lesser amount plus all of my Plenti Points I used. The store manager said, well, he didn't write the program. That's just the way it is. He berated the employee right in front of customers and was extremely rude the whole time. Management is very friendly and responsive. Pharmacy is also well run and friendly. Plenty of parking.

I was waiting at the pharmacy line for awhile and when I asked the Asian pharmacist with short black hair and glasses if I can purchase an item there, she snapped at me and said "I am the only one here!" How rude! She did not even acknowledge me. At least tell me you will be with me in a moment. Instead, she snaps at me for asking a question. Very bad customer service. read more

Went in for an ice cream cone. That should be a pleasant experience. Not here. There was a long line at the register. As I waited to be waited on, two more people got in line at the register. One cashier slowly waited on people in this line. I went over to her and asked if she could call someone to serve ice cream. "I'm it," she told me and said she would be with me after she waited on people in line. I asked if she was going to wait on everyone in line before waiting on me. "That's right!" She said it so proudly, as though she was happy to ignore me as a customer. I felt that people would continue to get in line at the register and it could be midnight before she was available to serve ice cream. I can see from the other comments on here that it's a common problem at this store and that they obviously don't care since they have done nothing to improve the situation. Why have that ice cream area if you aren't going to sell it except very occasionally? Do you think you could put a flag in front of the store to alert people when you are willing to serve ice cream. That way people wouldn't waste their time by going into the store when you can't be bothered selling ice cream. Mmmmm, I don't think you'll do that. That would be helpful to customers and I know you don't want that. Sorry to give one star when all I was able to do in your store is waste my time. read more

Stopped in on my way to work to get something...At checkout tried to get cash back. Lady who was courteous about it tells me she can't give me cash back because I'm the first customer of the day...Soooooo they don't put cash in the registers at the start of each day?? And you offer cash back why?? Between my pharmacy experience and some poor customer service encounters and now this...I'm soooo switching to CVS...I always have the best experiences there and their rewards card is almost a constant stream of coupons!! I can't even afford to put 1 star at this pharma!! I called the pharmacy to ask for help for the prescription of my patient. Im not even done telling her what's my concern she already interrupted me and told to call the voice machine line. Not even knowing the reason of my call. She placed me on hold for 3 times without letting me know the reason. and get back to me without apologizing for taking so long. Wendy... You are so rude! I don't ever yelp. I only use Yelp to see how places are through customer experiences but I just couldn't let this go. An employee accused me of stealing. I beeped on the way out and he came out chasing me to come inside. He insisted for me to open my purse... and guess what he found? NOTHING! I was in there for maybe 5 minutes. Mind you, as he's checking inside my purse other people( Caucasian) walk out and the door is beeping as well but he doesn't bother checking them. I've never felt so humiliated in my life. I will never set foot in here. I have them one star because that's the lowest I can go. read more

It may be silly reviewing such a large business but a good review is still due. This location is great. The staff always have smiles on their faces, they seem to remember me as a customer and are always super helpful when I need help finding something etc. read more

Pharmacy is great!! They are nice and fast. Thrifty ice cream is amazing as well! The only downside is that you either have to wait awhile for someone to help you or they barely have any flavors!! I don't understand why they don't have all the flavors at all times!!! They need to get with the program, so minus one star for that. But I love how giant the scoops are :) read more

The elderly man that works there should get another job or get some manners. He is always rude and looks like he hates everyone, including his job. I feel sorry for the people that work with him......The rest of the store is great and ladies are always nice. Way to go ladies..... read more

I've had two really strange/awful experiences here recently. First time, I walk in, the guy working behind the counter leers at my chest, I walk out. Today I came in looking for goldfish. Took me an extra few minutes to find, because the goldfish is located on the candy aisle instead of the chips etc. aisle. I tried to check out fast; the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted to use a Rite Aid rewards card, I said no. The guy then asked me again, saying there was a deal on goldfish that day; seeing as how the bag was two dollars and I was in a hurry, I said no. The employee then spent the next few minutes finding the advertisement for a special on goldfish, trying to convince me all the while to buy two. Hello-I'm perfectly capable of determining whether I want to buy one bag of goldfish rather than two. More than that, I find it exceedingly annoying when some douchey male I've never met before assumes I'm not qualified to know how many bags of goldfish I want to buy and tries to convince me to buy more than I actually want. Rite Aid, c'mon--the last thing your female customers want to deal with is some guy in our faces trying to tell us we're wrong about what we want to buy, okay? Geez. read more

Most of all the employees there are good , but their manager is a lop ! I had numerous pictures I sent via my laptop for their camera department to print. These were my vacation pictures. I sent them off via rite aid's website and then got a confirmation my pictures were ready. I waited actually until the next day after work to stop by and get my pics.... I was going to a Ladies luncheon the next day and share my pics with my girls... anyway, I showed up to get the pictures and they couldn't find them . I then showed them my printed confirmation that rite aid said they were done, the manager still couldn't find them. Then he checked the printer machine and said their toner or ink was out and hasn't printed in awhile . He said he'd get the toner and have them done for me first thing the next day .........Gong...... they still weren't done that next morning .... I had to skip showing pics to my girl friends , thanks all to the inept manager at alamo rite aid ! read more

Drove to Rite Aid this AM to pick up some prescriptions. I looked at hours of operations before and it said 9am. I got there at about 8:50 and we searched for a few other items. A few minutes to 9am I asked the cashier when the pharmacy was open and she said 10am so we left and I will try again tomorrow. They should post correct hours on the website, I wasted time driving back and forth and now have to do so tomorrow. Lines here are typically very long too, they never have enough cashiers in the pharmacy department. read more

The pharmacy is horrible. It is the Peter Principle in action. Nancy and Connie should never be in charge of running that pharmacy. They are rude, argumentative, and worst of all can't seem to get it together to have automatic refill prescriptions waiting for the customer on schedule. They do nothing proactive to help the customer such as calling the doctor for more refills or going to bat for the customer with the insurance company. I guess they excel at counting out pills which sometimes they get correct. After other members of my family switched to other pharmacies, I told them for years I was going to switch also. The final straw was when my husband was on a special order cholesterol medication which they failed to order on time and he was down to zero pills. They could have cared less. After much urging, Nancy found that the Livermore store had the medication in stock. I went over there and they were actually nice and helpful. They did mention that the Alamo store did have my medications in a "confusing mess". I am now switching to Livermore Rite Aid. Alamo Rite Aid has made this very difficult as they have a hold on some of my prescriptions and have not released them yet. I will miss Alfie, the pharmacy tech at Rite Aid Alamo. He is a rock star and should be running that pharmacy! read more

This is difficult. While the women that work there (aside fromt he pharmacy) are wonderful, the store manager is quite rude. Just encountered bad treatment from him with my family and so forth. But I don't see him much so as long as I interact with the other staff, it's just fine. They are delightful. The Pharmacy manager is very kind and does her job well but her staff seem a bit abrupt at times. Not rude, just abrupt and tired looking. I have had some prior experiences there where prescriptions that were called in were misplaced or deleted or never relayed. One time, I got double the dosage of the prescription so my advice for anyone using a pharmacy is to be your own advocate and check the prescriptions and follow up. For months, I never knew that my doctor had changed the dosage of one medication. They had received the call about the new prescription, put it in the system but never called me.... I'm not sure where all the confusion comes from. I suppose patience is a virtue. read more

The store is fine, I can usually find what I need, but the pharmacy? My goodness, what a nightmare! They can't get anything right. Issues take several tries before they get resolved. I have gone without essential prescriptions for days because they couldn't get the prescription filled for one reason or another. Snafu with name, doctor's office sending them the prescription for refill several times and they keep claiming they never received it. I felt bad because at one point I blamed my doctor's office, when in fact it was the pharmacy that was losing the prescription. If you have regular prescriptions, you can fill them online or over the automated phone system, and it's usually fine, but god forbid you have a new prescription, or they need to deal with the doctor for a refill. I am starting to request refills 2 weeks in advance just to make sure I leave enough time for the usual hang-ups to get resolved. It's excruciating. Would gladly switch to the CVS across the street but from the reviews it looks like they aren't much better. I literally DREAD going to the pharmacy. There's one lady in particular that looks like she HATES dealing with the public. If she's on the computer and sees you waiting, she'll leave you waiting as long as possible. If she deigns herself to serve you, it's with the worst attitude. Why do people who hate working with customers choose that kind of job? So the 2 stars are for the store itself, no stars for the pharmacy. read more
