Just ew... mind you pharmacists in this location have ZERO problems allowing others to pick-up, call in, or check statuses EVER. Usually I am in an automated "press 1" text alert when my son's medications are ready... this month I hadn't gotten one when I noticed he was low. Conversation as follows Me: hi, I'm calling in to check to see if my sons scripts are available? I usually get the text and hadn't received one this month Cashier working pharm: birthday? Me: 00/00/0000 Pharm: name? Me: bla bla bla Pharm: I'm sorry... name againnnn? Me: bla bla bla Pharm: annnnnnnd birthday was what???? Me: 00/00/0000 Pharm: ummmmm your relation is what? Who are you? Me: bla bla bla... his mom. Pharm: I'm sorry, he is twennnnntyyyyyyfivvvvvvvvvvvve he can call in himself!!!! Me: slight pause before I POP ALL THE WAY OFF followed by.... Hmmm, well if you'd look at his prescription, you may see why I'm calling it in but ya know what? I'll have him call CLICK! I DONT CARE IF MY KID IS 50!!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN MET WITH A RESPONSE LIKE THIS WHEN ASKING IF HIS MEDICINE IS AVAILABLE TO BE FILLED WHO IN THE HELLLLLLL does this person believe she is to talk so snide, rude, stuck up, hateful and completely UNPROFESSIONAL??? If you hate your job, say it! When I called back just now ready to go in after processing such a rude B**** another lady answered (lucky for the other who I will get name to this evening) she was kind, listened to my rant about this clown answering the phone and giving tips as to when I had birthed my child and let me know the pharmacist will be calling me back. I intend to let him know of the situation as well lol I could see if I was trying to get narcotic info but this isn't the case. I have a feeling her staff as well as multiple people in these reviews are speaking about her! Whatever you do. Don't tell your family you are going to thriftys for icecream on a Friday night. We walked in at 810 hoping for some thrifty icecream only to be met with an unapologetic lady saying it's closed.... Lucky frosty in the same parking lot was open or I would've had a riot of kids and old folks. I went for a Covid booster last year, long wait, and received half a dose. Went the other day cuz they were the nearest place giving omicron variant boosters. My appt was at 10:40. Trash service, overheard the manager of this small town, two star rite aid harassing/heckling one of his workers. Walked straight out without buying anything immediately after that. I've worked with managers similar to that (no life outside of work, always complaining about something) and I refuse to help anyone like that succeed. Standing in line AGAIN to pick up a prescription that was supposed to be filled 3 hours ago. Stood in line the first time to be told it wasn't ready. I asked if I could wait for it, and was told I could, and that it MIGHT be ready in 15-20 minutes. Eventually my last name was called to return to the pharmacy. I tried asking if my prescription was filled (before I stood in line again for no reason), but was told I had to just wait in line to find out, although the line had approximately 10 people in it. While waiting, I chatted with the woman in front of me who was waiting in line for the THIRD time. Yesterday I was here to to pick up a prescription that was called in several days before, and STILL had to wait while it was filled. Edit: This is the Mono Way, Sonora store...The Pharmacy is a joke! They will not START your prescription until you "check in" from your dr's office which they (dr.) had sent over. No one answers the phones, They charged my insurance before the "filled: my prescription then told me they are out of what i needed, went to another pharmacy and they couldn't fill it because of this. I had to go back t rite aid and tell the idiot pharmacist to cancel my order for the meds they were out of. I asked for the manager, she told me they didn't have one OMG! This is my go-to store for all everyday household products and most personal care items. I have been a "Gold" status wellness member for many years, so I receive a 20% discount on most items (except alcohol, lottery, prescriptions, etc.), even on top of any coupons I may have. CVS on the other hand, not only has higher prices, but only honors coupons if the items are at regular price, not on sale items. Rite Aid often has 30% off sale for two days also! Staff here is accommodating and friendly. Cleanliness and orderliness of the store has improved greatly over the past year or so. read more

I have not had experience on the actually store service or quality. I only go to this location on the way back from snowboarding or camping for their Thrifty's Ice Cream! I love stopping in and getting a scoop or two of their delicious ice cream. There is not always an attendant by the ice cream stand, but a cashier will help you when they are available and it is always worth the wait. Why I love Thrifty's Ice Cream you ask? Because it brings back the days of childhood when you don't have that much money, but you could go for a frozen treat. Plus the scoops are cylinders not spheres. Much more fun to eat than a regular old scoop. The flavors I love are their Butter Pecan and Mint Chocolate Chip. You must get it in a cone to truly bring you back to those hot summer days. The consistency of the ice cream is very creamy, the mix ins are throughout the ice cream so you get a bits of deliciousness in every lick, and the price is right at about $1 a scoop! read more

Also they will put you on hold for 20 minutes + until you just give up trying to call ahead to make sure your meds are filled before you stand in their very slow moving line just to be told it won't be ready until the next day despite it being called in days prior. Lately this Pharmacy has only been having floater pharmacists. They have been trying to not fill my prescriptions. They make me wait a full 30 days before they will fill my prescriptions. They often cannot figure out how to get them through my insurance, so I spend 3 days on the phone 3 hours every day with medi-cal rx they are fed up with it too. They said your floaters can call their help desk or tape a paper to the computer telling them all they ever had to do was to override it, so often I have been out for days and then once they figured that out then they don't want to fill the ones I've been getting for years together. They have no idea why I recieve them, no idea what diagnosis I have, no idea what allergies I have, nor do they care. They just don't want me to get my medicine. Last month my doctor had to make the floating pharmacist fill my medicine he wanted me cut off. My pain management has been seeing me for 7 years and knows me and all my medical ailments and so does my primary care. I have a whole team who take care of me only the pharmacy is not on our team and now after all these years I am going to have to change this is straight B. S. The last couple of years I have had to fight to get my medication and its wrong. I have a whole medical team taking care of me and if someone doesn't want to give people their medicine they should not be a pharmacist. I have severe anxiety and I really think that the pharmacist is having fun withholding my medication I need for it. I needed that medication yesterday sir! read more

My husband and I come here all the time for our prescriptions and ALWAYS have some kind of an issue with refills. He takes medication on a regular basis. Last refill they left out 5 pills for some reason. So he had to refill to complete his next dose of 8 pills. He went in the day after he ordered the refill and was told that they carried those pills over to the next prescription renewal. Which makes no sense. He told them he would miss this week's dose but the pharmacist did not care and told him to call in the refill again and wait for Monday for his doctor to approve the refill. They are always rude and don't care to help and never offer a valid reason for what they do. Don't go here if you need your medication because you most likely won't get it. read more

Son used the Rite Aid website to order refills on Monday. Called the store on Weds before making the trip and could not reach a human, no matter which option I chose- just an endless loop recording. Went in today, Thursday morning and they were not ready. There was only one pharmacist and one clerk working- no pharmacy tech. Said they would be ready in 2 hours. Came back in 3.5 hours later and they were still not ready and she couldn't even tell me when they might be. I talked to the very nice manager, but it's not his fault that Rite Aid is not staffing the pharmacy adequately. He gave me the customer service number for Rite Aid 800-748-3243 and I called them, but I don't need the pharmacy manager to call me- I need the prescriptions for my son. He'll be out of pills tomorrow. It's not fair to put so much pressure on so few employees who are doing all they can. It could lead to medication mistakes. read more

Let me start by saying my mother in law had a problem getting her prescription filled here. It was the exact problem my husband faced on 8/3/17. He knew it was coming but he had always filled his prescriptions at this store since moving here and doesn't want to be accused of pharmacy shopping. His doctor gave him 3 separate prescriptions for his medication because we are in between insurances and understands it's hard to make a visit every month. My husband spoke with, I assume, a technician to get his prescription filled and they asked why he had the three prescriptions. They accepted his explanation until he mentioned he had no insurance. They refused to fill with no insurance. He asked for the policy in writing. Ultimately, the pharmacist says it's his discretion and went in circles with him. He came back with a written policy that states the pharmacist can refuse based on medical discretion. My husband pointed out that refusing based on financial status is completely different than medical. He asked the pharmacist for his boss. He says he has no boss. My husband says "do you own rite aid? Then you have a boss! Who hired you?" Store manager came and the pharmacist accused him of swearing at him (multiple times throughout the conversations). The store manager says he's not in charge of the pharmacist but he asked if he could validate the legitimacy of the script. Pharmacist says yes. And he told him to fill it then! The pharmacist made my husband go through a huge scene in front of fellow community members that he knew. His old grammar school teacher was even there! His HIPPA rights violated. And at the end of it all, the pharmacist says "next time.." my husband say "next time what?" He ignored him. He said it louder and firmer, "Next time what?" The pharmacist finally answered, next time to tell the staff that the pharmacist ok'd it already. And I have another poor review for my experience with this pharmacy too. read more

I ask the corporate office if I want to transfer my scripts if I should go to Rite aid or the new pharmacy. They tell me to go to Rite Aid and the will handle it all for me. I drive 20 miles to the store and the pill counter says he can't do it, the new pharm acy I chose has to request the transfers......just more incompetence or dishonesty. read more

The pharmacy has been a disaster since the Tech Sarah left. Store is ok, would not recommend the pharmacy at all. Takes forever, the pharmacist will go to lunch while people sit and wait not knowing. Horribly understaffed and inefficient. Go to Kelly's in San Andreas. Superior service and nice people. read more
