I was released from hospital with broken back. Went to rite aid for pain med prescription and this pharmacist would NOT fill until I answered a bunch of personal questions. I got upset because I knew it was wrong. She told me to calm down or she wouldn't fill my prescription. She wanted to know " WHY" I needed this medication, what happened to me and how and so on. This pharmacy has never been a good place to go safely. I've been talked down to and embarrassed. This is the second time I've had issues at this pharmacy. Had a different one been open ( it was weekend) I would have never gone back. Rite Aid knows about this. Doesn't seem to care. read more

This is a terrible pharmacy and a ridiculously large, empty storefront. The pharmacy is staffed by incompetent morons. I had two prescriptions sent over by my doctor yesterday, early afternoon, to address a severe and debilitating illness. As of today, those prescriptions are still not ready. I understand that it might take them three or four hours to count to 30 but taking multiple days to do so is unreasonable. No one ever knows what's going on. The pharmacists are rude and dismissive. You can stand at the counter for 5 minutes, staff will look at you, but no one will acknowledge you. Maybe they're understaffed because they have to pay for a store location that is five times larger than it needs to be. The store itself enormous. They are 500 feet from an Albertsons, but they have aisles of groceries and personal products that are more expensive then actually going to the grocery store for groceries. The saddest part is that these aisles are mostly empty (except for the liquor coolers at the back). Other aisles are completely empty year-round. Whatever corporate buffoon made the decision to stand up the behemoth drugstore to try and compete with a grocery store while understaffing the PHARMACY (remember this is supposed to be a drug store) should be terminated immediately for gross incompetence. read more

Insane wait times for prescriptions. I waited over 24 hours before calling to check on my prescription, and when I finally got through to a live person (took me five attempts), I was told that my prescription had been placed on hold due to my insurance not covering it. Thing is, my insurance hasn't covered it the last three times I've had it filled at this pharmacy. You'd think that sort of information would be on file at this point. So I explained that I pay out of pocket for it, and the person who was helping me said it would STILL be a few hours before they could fill it, if not tomorrow. Good thing I don't need this medication to keep me alive or anything like that. I hope that people with that level of need are getting their medicine elsewhere. They get two stars because they at least fill the prescription and accept my discount card. They desperately need more staff and a better method of tracking customer history. read more

Dont get your prescriptions filled here. You'll save time by literally driving to another city. Line can take minimum of 45 minutes (I've waited over an hour before). Dont call in a prescription, it wont get filled and youll have to wait in line AGAIN. Seriously mismanaged. Making a call complaint doesn't do anything. Go to Ashland Drug or Medford. Beware of the man most likely to help you if you pick up a prescription in the Pharmacy. There was a mistake with my order today but I could not get him to take it seriously. He was processing me, not serving me, and I did not want to piss him off so I simply took it up with the pharmacist. That worked well, but should not have been necessary. Terrible pharmacy, I use it out of necessity. Even if you have brand new insurance there's a chance their machine tells you it's "expired" and you'll have to pay out of pocket, like I did. Do not go here if you have any other choice. Also the wait times are awful. read more

Every single time I fill with this pharmacy it's a nightmare. Typically I walk in a day ahead of time ask for it. They won't fill called in prescriptions. Then pick up the next day. This time was worse. Even with a face to face and 24 hrs notice they just shrugged at me. Woman ahead of me late 80s frail picking up for her husband same experience. I told the person at the counter "I wonder how many medical events you have caused?". There is bad service then there is dangerous service they're going to kill somebody and probably already have. Well I made an appointment two weeks ago for a COVID update and checked in with them on Sunday to be sure that I would get the jab. I just called today about an hour before my appointment and was informed that they do not, in fact, have any COVID shots available... maybe in a few weeks. I had been buying my meds from a different pharmacy in town, mainly because its location was more convenient to my home. I can't drive for medical reasons, so I have to take my bicycle wherever I go. I switched to Rite Aid after abiding enough poor performance and surly service from the other. Riding to Rite Aid adds five-and-a-half miles more roundtrip, but it's worth it for the courtesy and professionalism of its staff. Plus it helps reduce my jelly roll. For one thing, the hours are very generous, though just a tad less during the pandemic, but still the best in town. And since Bi-Mart's pharmacy closed, Rite Aid has been swamped. Lines were long. Yet a day before this writing, there was no line when my auto-fill was ready. Go figure. Rite Aid texts me when a prescription is ready for pickup, they gave me my immunizations, and I can pick up other supplies there like ibuprofen, Ben Gay, and beer. Okay, chips too. Had to call the store because the pharmacy NEVER picks up the phone. I called the pharmacy 15 times and no one answered.

I feel really bad for the pharmacy staff. Seems like they could use some help. There's always a long, slow line to the counter. I don't go often, but the last three times it took over an hour to pick up my prescription. One of the times I got to the front and my prescription wasn't even ready... after eight days... so I had to wait a few more days and get back in line. I was also pretty bummed that one time, two different people walked in from outside and cut the line. The pharmacist either didn't notice or didn't care, but it was so sad for me and all the people who had been waiting for so long. I've been trying to call the pharmacy to make sure my new prescription is ready, before I stand in line forever. I can't get anyone on the phone. I tried to email customer.service@riteaid.com and inquiry@riteaid.com and got automated responses that those emails were no longer active. The "click here to contact us" link took me to more automated, dead-end responses. I tried getting the app, but I don't know my new prescription number, so I can't make an account. None of this customer service works. The cut-and-paste responses from Pam are not helping. There is an issue every time I try to fill my meds- so far I have never once had just been able to pick up my meds no matter how many days it has since been called in by my doctor. Regardless if I call in the morning asking about meds sent by my doctor days ago and ensured they would be filled end of day .. giving a whole 12 hours they admit they haven't even started and say to come back another day. Other issues often arise as well. In order to ensure your meds are filled it requires constant reminders to staff and advocating on your own behalf. It is incredibly frustrating. read more

After having antibiotics, pain relievers, and an antiseptic mouthwash prescribed Friday morning after a tooth extraction, my prescription was still not ready by midday on Sunday. More than 48 hours after the prescription was called in by my surgeon. Literally the worst experience I have ever had at a pharmacy. I had to get some prescriptions and was told that I couldn't get them because I have no insurance? I'm visiting the U.S. from Ireland and I'm an American citizen. The person on the counter proceeded to tell my mother that she hasn't lived in America long enough to understand how the healthcare system works. My mom has been living in the U.S. for 30 years. You don't need insurance to get prescription medicine, and that person is obviously a xenophobe. The person who helped us had dark brown hair, white, is 38 years old (he said he was only a couple days younger than me), and overweight. That person needs to get fired. read more

This pharmacy is completely backed up and has crashed out. Not only did they not have the RX ready, they couldn't give me an ETA. That isn't even the issue. Its the dude they put in the front to relay that message. The same guy every other review mentions. I call this guy out for being rude, he denies it. Then out of nowhere someone who wasn't even a part of the conversation, chimed in taking his side and came at me with the same attitude. Had to eventually walk away because instead providing any sense of customer service, they just wanted to gaslight me into believing this guy, who others have complained about too, wasn't rude to me. Being overworked is one thing, but don't blame customers who are upset after 24 hours an RX still is unfulfilled with no timeline or sense of urgency. That pharmacy either needs to shut down, or someone who knows how to provide customer service actually teach the pharmacy techs how to talk to people because the two people I interacted with just plain suck at that part of their job. read more

Unfortunately this is the only pharmacy in town that my Medicare advantage plan is affiliated with. There is another tiny pharmacy near the town center but they are usually overwhelmed and often forget to send prescription refill requests to doctors. I did a refill by scan Feb 27th thinking it would give Rite Aid plenty of time to refill before I ran out of meds on 2/7. I called yesterday as I had not head back from them. They said they were "a little behind but your prescription will be ready tomorrow morning." I just stood in line for 45 minutes only to learn they have still not finished my 1 prescription. I get to sit with 3 other people in the same situation for another 30-40 minutes while they "rush" to finish our prescriptions. Meanwhile, there are 12 people waiting in line who will likely have the same issue. Riteaid is the absolute worst pharmacy I have ever encountered. Unfortunately, in this small town they have a captive audience and take full advantage of it. read more

I have used the Ashland location consistently for filling prescriptions for the last three years. I try to keep in mind that they are understaffed and overworked, especially with tue Bi-Mart transfer. However, the pharmacy technician with a very distinctive mustache is consistently surly, dismissive l, and outright rude. I was trying to fill a prescription for my elementary school age daughter that had been called in on Thursday. Today is Tuesday. I was told over the phone on Saturday that it would be available on Sunday. I went in at opening time Monday and was advised by the not so gentle man that it would be available Tuesday. I went in first thing this morning when the same tech let me know that it's not in, but that it's available over the counter and not so kindly said "it's just xyz, you don't need it from us." The question in my head was that if it's the same, why would the pediatrician wrote an rx, and asked him if it had dosage instructions for children on the OTC product. He called over the pharmacist after rolling his eyes, who gave me more specifics. Now, why wasn't this information shared on the phone call or my first stop? I have tolerated this pharmacy and their total lack of customer service for my own prescriptions, but I cannot tolerate this when it relates to my child's health and welfare. I will drive to another location or use the other local pharmacy for any future rx needs. Maybe less customers will improve their service, but it's highly doubtful. I have been going into this Rite Aid for about 18 years. Because I'm a professional caregiver I often pick up clients prescriptions and other items that the clients themselves are unable to shop for. Today I had an experience unlike any other I've ever had there before. One of the things that many people are doing to deal with Covid now is that one person does the shopping for numerous others. As a caregiver even before Covid part of my job has been to do this. My client is in a wheelchair so I went to buy him some alcohol wipes. He has a separate card that pays for such items. I was picking up two containers of alcohol wipes- One was for my client, and the other was for myself. One of the customer associates stopped me and told me that I couldn't buy two I could only buy one. Before I could even explain I was making two completely separate purchases for two separate people with two separate methods of payment, because I'm shopping for a client, the customer associate cut me off and wouldn't even let me explain. And when I tried to she was shaking her head and would not even listen to me. She was rude and belligerent. So when I got to the front to try to buy my two containers of alcohol wipes I was telling a customer in line about my experience when what looked to be a manager overheard and came up and started to talk to me about it because I was obviously a little upset. I was not upset with her but I was a little upset at the way the first customer associate had treated me. But instead of this second customer associate ( I am assuming that it was a manager) being concerned about how one of her cohorts acted towards me she took it personally, saying I had no reason to be upset with her. She said she was willing to let me buy the alcohol wipes with an attitude like she was doing me a favor but that I had no right to/was being rude for expressing my genuine discontent at having received poor quality customer service.I was trying to explain that I was treated rudely by one of her cohorts and all she kept saying was I shouldn't talk to her in an upset way and that I was being inappropriate! It was totally unprofessional, but worse lacking in any concern for a customer who just had a simple need. I wasn't hoarding or taking advantage. If anyone had just taken the time to actually listen to what I was saying instead of just making assumptions and being defensive then there would have been absolutely no need for any issue to have occurred. It was handled so unprofessionally by someone who was obviously compensating for her ineptitude and inability to effectively cope and communicate by instead trying to shut me down, blame me for their poor customer service skills. read more

Very long story short. Tried refilling on website - didn't work. tried by phone - it couldnt even recognize the script #. Tried calling pharmacy but, once again, no one answered the phone. Went to the store And was told that for some obscure reason my script was transferred to the Medford store and was in limbo "on hold" and couldn't be pulled for several days (I had 2 pills left). Was told by Medford that Ashland could indeed process the script, so I went back there and was literally shrugged at when I told them I needed the medication. After 15minutes of back and forth with the rudest pharmacy staff I've ever dealt with, I told them I had no choice but to move all my prescriptions elsewhere. Her reply: "you won't break my heart". What is wrong with this place? Never again. Not even for an aspirin. Not surprising they're losing money. Employees should start looking for other jobs. read more
