This is, by far, the most dysfunctional pharmacy I have ever dealt with in my life, and it has been highly dysfunctional ever since Bi-Mart closed their pharmacy across the street. To my knowledge, the Rite Aid pharmacy staff have never had a prescription ready on time, and any time I've been told "It'll be ready tomorrow," the pharmacist was either lying outright or was misinformed (who knows which?). I can understand if this pharmacy is having staffing issues, but there is simply no excuse for giving customers fraudulent information about when prescriptions will be ready. I'm not quibbling over 'vanity prescriptions,' either, but highly important, potentially life-saving medications. The level of incompetence here is circus-caliber. As I type this message, the pharmacy staff won't even pick up the phone. Please either hire competent pharmacists or just close up shop for good. This is pathetic. read more

Went in to pick up some Rx's today. Aside from so many customers NOT wearing masks I was disappointed that the Pharmacist and Pharmacy clerk were not wearing masks. Yes, there is a screen between them and the customers, but for both their own protection (from one another) and for the fact that as health professionals they should be modeling safe behavior, they totally should have been masked up. he Rite-Aid pharmacy requires getting used to nowadays. There are several constraints they must conform with, and they experience a fairly high turnover in their hires -- so they are always trying to come p to speed. I suspect Rite-Aid does not pay top dollar. Hence the turn-over. That said, most problems they seem to have either actually originate with the prescribing physicians or are simply due to the new or bogged down pharmacists. Sometimes some of the many delays or problems were MY fault, believe it or not. I've been going there for many years, could be better elsewhere, bu almost feel sorry for this semi-functioning unit. Truth is -- I've gotten good service there. You can expect R-A to get the job done, esp. if you are not in a serius hurry (which is never a good idea). read more

They almost never have your prescription ready when you arrive, despite coming after when they say it will be ready. The pharmacy is not open the hours their telephone recording claims and when you point that out they say the central office won't let them change it. And with Bi-Mart's pharmacy having closed, there is never not a giant line to pick up prescriptions. read more

Pro: open sort of late, and on weekends. Staff seems ok, but usually just the checkout staff. Cons: understaffed; I usually see the registers unstaffed, and the checkers stocking shelves. Prices crazy high: for example, Mucinex Fast Max that lists for $12.49 and Amazon sells for about $10, Rite Aid sells for $17.49. read more

I didn't really look too close at the merchandise in this drug store, but when I was visiting from out of town and discovered I'd left a prescription med at home, they were all over it -- within a couple of hours I had the scrip exactly as needed without a hitch. I went into Rite Aid today to buy stamps. It must have been around 3:30 in the afternoon. It wasn't particularly busy at the Post Office Counter. There was an older lady waiting at the counter, probably in her late seventies or early eighties. We waited patiently and a woman came out from the back, whom I would later learn was named Stephanie, she was clearly frustrated with someone or someone. She told the elderly lady she was busy putting out the mail. She was so rude to this elderly lady that when asked she couldn't even say her box number. This Stephanie person preceded to tell her she was getting mail out and now, pointing to me, had to help me. I was stunned that this Rite Aid employee was being so unnecessary rude, hostile even. I turned and did other shopping, no longer interested in purchasing stamps, not there and certainly not from her. When I went up to the check out at the front of the store this elderly woman was asking if anyone had seen her keys. Evidently, she had become so rattled she lost her keys. When I got up to the cash register I told the young man how rude the woman was to this elderly woman and wanted to know her name. This elderly woman was not abrasive or mean, or even demanding. I am still just appalled at how she was treated. This Stephanie person needs to be called on the carpet for her conduct. That was so uncalled for. I fully intended on writing a letter to the head office. read more

For your pharmaceutical needs in Ashland this is probably the most convenient location in town. They have plenty of deals on there products depending the week. The milk looked cheaper here than the other grocery stores in town even withouts it being on sale. The candy among other things are cheaper here if you have the store card. They also have photo and printing services for your personal photos and things like passports. They also have a western union. Like all business's some stuff is cheaper here or expensive depending the week you go but for the most part its a large store with wide aisles with alot to of products to offer that the other grocery stores in town don't supply. read more

Put in prescription refill at 9:00 a.m. Online, and the website indicated it would be ready by 11:00 a.m. I show up at 5:00 pm and they haven't even started, and tell me it will be a 40-minute wait. I've lived in Ashland for several years and never see any improvement in the service at Rite Aid Ashland pharmacy. I am sitting here waiting right now, it's been 30 minutes, having been told it would be 15, this after having called in my prescriptions at 9:00 a.m. It is 2:52 p.m. now. One of my friends works here, and that is the only redeeming quality of this Rite-Aid. I was harassed by an employee in a way I will never forget. Someone else in the store in an aisle bounced a rubber ball towards me. Jokingly, I picked it up and talked to my friends. But I was on my way to put it back when an employee very rudely told me not to "play with the ball in the store" and that I was "old enough to know better". You can't say that to someone who is in your establishment to buy things from you! That's no way to treat a customer. I never thought I'd be giving a four star review to Rite Aid. I didn't particularly care for it when it was down the hill from me and much preferred the Long's that took its place. However, this Rite Aid has been a regular Ashland stop to stock up on sundries. It's always clean and bright and the employees are helpful. And now that Long's has been taken over by CVS, this Rite Aid is looking better and better. In August I picked up a couple of Neutrogena lipsticks for my travel bag and we've been buying bottled water. I don't like buying bottled water but the water here in the motel has an off taste, so we do. read more

Well, I had thirty minutes to kill while they filled my Vicodin prescription. (Who likes Vicodin, say HAAY!) I think this is the only store that I could blow $50 on a bunch of shit I don't need in half an hour. I bought three lipsticks that are basically the same shade (hey, coral/orangey looks good on me, ok?), a tube of mascara, a mini plunger (because apparently regular sized ones are incompatible with my toilet bowl), and three packs of fake nails. I got my favorite cashier girl today and I was so relieved because she is always nice and never judges. For example: I spent nearly $20 on press-on airbrush nails and she was still able to assure me that I am not a ghetto ass bitch. Thank you, cashier girl. I will surely be back when I am having self-esteem issues or if I need a different sized plunger. read more

How ironic: A Rite Aid that can't get a damn thing right. I gave this pharmacy four tries. Every time I had to wait at least 30 minutes for a prescription that was supposedly already filled. On one occasion, I came back an hour later only to have to wait an extra 30 minutes in the store. But my most recent experience was the last straw: I was given a single serving of cough syrup because they were about to run out. I came back the next day as instructed only to be told that the prescription still hadn't been filled--and that there were five people ahead of me. read more

I am usually a positive reviewer... I feel the responsibility to warn others that this pharmacy has actually made more than one important mistake on our family members prescriptions. They seem overwhelmed and friendly but they have made one important dosage mistake and other minor mistakes and fumbles that concern me. I prefer bi-mart pharmacy and costco. They are always backed up, disorganized and generally unapologetic about making you wait well beyond when they tell you over the phone it will be ready. Avoid this place. I had to go back three days in a row to get my prescriptions this month (when I was told they would be filled on day one). Day two I went in only to be turned around again. I decided that since I was in there I would purchase some hair dye (blue). Came home, dyed hair according to package, hair came out nearly black. Day three went in with receipt and box and was told very rudely by the manager that "I can't give you your money back". She said I would have to go through the hair company. Now while I do see her point, she didn't have to be so abrupt and blunt. Also, I think Rite-Aid should be accountable for selling a product that not only didn't deliver, but kinda effed up my hair. Some people would be devastated by this! Luckily, I'm a bit more flexible, but I still know the value of my purchasing power and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. This store kept the product I purchased from them and refused to refund the cost of the item. REALLY..... I returned to the Ashland Rite Aid to return a $13 dollar item, two days after I purchased it from this store. The clerk "Sam" remembered me and said that despite the fact that she remembered me purchasing this item, her company policy was that she could not refund my money with out a receipt. She offered a gift card for $5.45 in exchange for a 13 dollar item... I have a hard time with this as she said she had remembered me and the purchase. The "policy" is not thinking about the customer or the variables that can occur and the right thing to do to keep there customers...I will never shop at rite aid again based on principal...I left the item there and I hope it offsets the amount of money they are losing, as I will not give them anymore consideration when I shop in Ashland.. My husband and I are frequent customers at our Local Rite Aid on Ashland St. I get all my prescriptions filled here. Last week my husband and I walked in to the Rite Aid store, we just needed a few things. On our final checkout, the cashier asked for my husband's ID because he was carrying a big bottle of wine. (I'm handicap an CANNOT carry heavy items like that myself.) Now, since we've started coming to your store (Nov 15) we've had every cashier that works their, and not one of them ever asked us for multiple ID's. My husband did not have his ID on him, so the cashier called up a manager to talk to us. Right after the call ended the cashier backed up away from us like we were criminals or something. Before this incident, we've never had any problem. I can tell you I will never buy anything from your store. The only thing that you might get (money wise) is my prescriptions and I'm hoping not for long. read more

And twice they have been backed up, forgot to fill the order after many days in between, or failed to call me to let me know they couldn't refill the prescription, in fact, even though days had passed and my pill count was at zero. Sometimes I have to laugh: it's like it's a pharmacy being run by Lucille Ball or Homer Simpson. In respect to the store itself, I have one question: who picked the new ivory-colored flooring. Went to rite aid pharmacy a while ago after a three and a half day hospital stay to get a prescription filled for Vicodin as my thumb had exploded from a infection that got so bad it ate my bone away, and no longer have a bone in the top of my thumb. I was in pain and wanted to go home. They refused my prescription and red flagged me as a doctor shopper as in the hospital you see many doctors and nurses and specialists that prescribe medications. My specialist wrote the prescription before I left the hospital. They at the pharmacy made tha assumption I was doctor shopping without even talking to me or letting me know they had red flagged me. I went almost two days with no pain relief. Had to make an emergency appoint with my family doctor and he said it was ridiculous as Vicodin isn't a designer drug like oxy cottons it's a NECESSITY for situations like mine. When your finger is split open down the middle it's a necessity to have pain relief. My family doctor had to give me a whole new prescription and went to a different pharmacy who then explained to me they red flagged me and that placed a hold on me for all medications. The woman at the other pharmacy had to make a few calls and worked really hard to get me off that red flag list. And help me. And then finally I got my prescription filled. Lesson learned do not use rite aid in Ashland as a pharmacy. Especially after a hospital stay. They'll make assumptions and screw you over. To the people complaining about not being able to fill online, this is Southern Oregon. Not a place like Southern California or other big places. I had THE most unpleasant experience with Rite Aid today Pharmacy. I believe his name was Chris. The pharmacist was rude as can be, treated me like an idiot/criminal for asking questions about my declined refill for a completely common, non controlled, basically harmless prescription. He even flat out lied to me about a few things (I already knew the answer but wanted to see how he would respond). When I stated asking questions, the tone he took with me was unacceptable. The worst thing is that this isn't the first time I've been treaded this way there. Their pharmacists are rude, judgmental, and slow as molasses. I'm not getting vicodin or sudaphed, so there is no reason they should be grilling me and guilt tripping me about a prescription they've been filling for me for years. I'm still upset and embarrassed by the whole thing. No body wants to have prescriptions, and everyones health is obviously very important, so Chris the pharmacist had no excuse for his behavior. I have been filling my prescriptions there for years (out of convenience only, not loyalty or customer satisfaction), and after I got off the phone, I immediately went and transferred my scripts to Walgreens in Medford. Yes, I'll have to drive further, but it's worth it to be done with this crappy chain. read more

horrendous service in the pharmacy! Absolutely do not get your prescription filled here, the staff is rude and clearly does not care about anyone's time but their own. I called 10 times in a row during pharmacy hours and was hung up on 3 times, the other 7 times nobody picked up. terrible service and terrible people. I have waited 3 weeks to get my birth control pills and I now have to basically start over on the prescription and go through the side effects of staring them again. I went in yesterday to get a prescription filled there for the first and the staff was very rude, and treated me like I was stupid. I had no idea what they wanted from me because It was my first time. What happened to customer service?? I came in later than night to realize it closed earlier than I thought, no big deal? I'll come in tomorrow then... came in today and it was even worse than yesterday. Two pharmacists assisting me, or should I say, staring at me like a crazy person, (because they didn't really do any assisting) both asked for my Health care ID. Ok no big deal I'll get it from my provider. When I return with it apparently I went to the wrong window and had to go to another one... and I got a lot of attitude for it... ok silly mistake, how was I suppose to know? And now apparently my health insurance ID is WRONG even though they've typed it in twice. NOW after two hours of trying to reach my health care provider to get my insurance, to figure everything out, they tell me I can just pay out of pocket and be reembursed later when my health insurance ID gets 'sorted out'. Why couldn't they just give me these simple instructions upfront? Why are they wasting their time and my time by acting like I'm not even there? Why are they treating me even less than human? All I know is I'm very upset and I've never been treated so poorly by a customer service. They were so judgmental and so unapologetic. read more

Hours are wrong. This store is not open until 10. Wasted my time. It's open 7-9. Pretty annoying.

Always ALWAYS long lines to pick up prescriptions here so be prepared to wait and for chaos. If you call something in, prescriptions rarely filed where they are supposed to be (near the register) so they have to hunt for them, one person receiving drop off prescriptions, entering them in, and trying to find prescriptions for people, never enough cashiers to check you out, one phamacist trying to fill prescriptions and give consultations. Today at a non peak hour, there were 10 people waiting in line to pay for prescriptions, two people waiting for consultations, and three people at least waiting for flu shots. I waited almost 30 minutes in line and the prescriptions were ready for me. Everytime I have a long line there, I am always afraid some customer is going to go ballistic because they are sick and irritable and have to wait. Please, Rite Aid, put on more cashiers in the pharmacy section, get more pharmacists filling prescriptions (come on, you need at least two because this is a very busy pharmacy), if the line is long, put on more people. Would not recommend unless you have lots of patience and enjoy waiting in a long line. read more

But over 2014-2015 there were several Holidays were I needed to get medicine-insulin for my doggy & a July 4th Weekend 2015 were my Hubby needed an Antibiotic & All Other Pharmacies were Closed. I Am So Grateful that the ER Dr. Was Able to Call into Rite Aid & They Were Open, Friendly & Kind to Me..I tried Every Pharmacy from one end of the Valley to Finally our local Rite Aid. For That I Give Them a 10+. I have never waited for more then a few minute on the Doggy/Husband meds, but All were called in & as I said I am not a Reg., of the Pharmacy. But I am of the Store. As a Local Shopper of Rite Aid I can Only Echo Alex's H., 4/4.2016 Review Of the store. I Only Have One Complaint, teach that older Check Out Guy How To Smile & Be Nice to Nice Customers ;) So Thank U Rite Aid!
