Absolutely the most rude pharmacist I have ever encountered. There was a sweet older lady in front of me, who appeared a bit confused of here medications a had some questions. The Tech there asked the pharmacist to come over and help her. He was a late 50's ish heavy set man, that's usually there. He seemed annoyed. He didn't move from his spot just decided to talk loudly across the desk from where he was doing something. A flat out violation of privacy rules. He didn't even answer the question, and the tech had to do his job educating the patient. read more

Usually I do not go to this pharmacy unless necessary. Basically because it was so unorganized and unenthusiastic employees. Within the last few weeks I have seen a huge turnaround. The store looks 100% more organized and the product displays are really nice now. I asked an employee if the store has a new management team and he smiled and said yes. Edith is still by far the rudest staff member ever. I don't know how she still has her job. She treats patients horribly and like they are dumb. I called a hour ago because I was leaving town so wanted to see if I could possibly get my zpack. She says give us 20 mins, I gave them an hour and when I come he she gives me an attitude and says wait 30 more minutes because it's not ready. My 78 year old mother has tried twice to walk in here during pharmacy hours to get her Covid booster. She had hard copies of her forms filled out and ready to go, and she knew she might need to wait a bit as a walk in. Scheduling a vaccine appointment online can be somewhat difficult, and she had decided to just try and walk in for her booster (I had scheduled her first two Covid appointments, and we didn't think it would be a problem now for her to be able to walk in for her booster.) The first time she was told that the pharmacy doesn't offer walk ins until 11:00 am. The second time she came in at 11:00 am and was told that the pharmacy doesn't offer walk ins until a different, later time. Other customers had appointments and the pharmacy was giving vaccines at the time. A vaccine appointment take about 5 minutes. Given my mother's demographic and that she made the effort to come in for her Covid booster during pharmacy hours, the public interest in distributing vaccines, plus the fact that the pharmacy was actually providing vaccines while she was there, it is quite unbelievable and frustrating that she was denied the Covid booster twice. UPDATE: She actually tried for a third time today (Monday) in the afternoon and was told boosters are only offered on Thursdays and Fridays. Three different attempts and she was given three different responses about the times and days she should return. Truly awful and so disappointing for many reasons. read more

As far as a all in one stop for snacks, toiletries and sundries, this Rite Aid is convenient for Morro Bay visitors. Plenty of parking in the same lot as Albertsons, this location seemed very well stocked. The store was organized, clean and the cashiers were friendly. Morro Bay doesn't have any big box stores or many chain retailers, so Rite Aid fills the void for your basic needs. It also seems recently remodeled-newer flooring and displays were all around. read more

We joined another checker in sassing our cashier, who's knowledge of all things Rite Aid made him the store's 'own Jesus, complete with walking on water, (or at least puddles in aisle 5).' Rite Aid - Waiting due to a mistake again! - Drugstores Near Me - Morro Bay, California

We went into Rite Aid to pick up a prescription that had been scheduled on the automated service at Ride Aid Pharmacy to be ready on Friday. I am a post- op Brain Surgery Patient. We waited until Saturday to be sure it would be filled. We waited in a long line at the pharmacy for about 10 minutes and when we reached the counted I requested to pick up my prescription. The woman behind the counter spoke rather condescendingly to me and said it was not yet filled and I should really wait to receive their text messages before coming in since they have such long lines. I said I understood however since their automated refill system scheduled it for pick up a day earlier that I thought it should be filled by then. She did not do anything more than reiterate in a rather harsh tone to wait until they texted me when it would be filled. I realize that she couldn't not possibly know that I am a recent brain surgery patient and that harsh speaking tones upset me quite a lot but as she was working in the pharmacy I feel they should do better with talking to patients trying to get their prescriptions. read more

I travel 45 minutes just to shop at this location. Though I have one in my town I prefer to make the drive due to the wonderful customer service and well stocked store. There is I believe he is a manager always greeting and walking myself and customers to product we need. I also would like to point out that due to this covid situation I always find myself feeling safe in that stores environment. Small town living. Some things are fantastic and some feel like a forced march up a steep hill during monsoon season. Case in point: Rite Aid. Fantastic: Myra at checkout. Helpful employees who used to roam around the store, engaging with shoppers and making sure we were finding what we need. Good selection of almost anything you can imagine. Clean. Orderly. Forced march: Maria stocking shelves back in the toy area. Since the printer ink cartridges are locked down, I needed to ask someone for help. One aisle over is Maria unhappily moving toys from a cart to the shelf. I asked if she could help with the ink and she said she'd be there in a minute. When she came to unlock the ink, she was rude, abrupt and irritated. She said that I was not allowed to take the ink to the checkout, so she would have to do it. She bolted away from me, never saying another word. Hey, Maria...I've got news for you. This is RITE AID in MORRO BAY. You are not handling top secret government files or curing cancer. You are stocking shelves at a small town drug store whose reputation is based on good customer service. If you're so damn irritated, go get some ice cream and chill out, woman! Once I made it to the check out, Myra was wonderful. Engaging, kind, smiling and patient with everyone in the long line. 5 stars for serving THRIFTY's ICE CREAM!!! Dad's fav ROCKY ROAD - which mom is very good about keeping a surplus of in the freezer, funny because he will spend half our time in R.A. telling her why not to buy it and pretend to be mad when he doesn't. Then when he opens the freezer that night he truly treats her like the queen she is. On more than one occasion I have made a point of buying one or two (since a number of times they go on sale at 2 for 1) those great square cartons of Rocky Road for him in order to have the OK to stay out late downtown SLO. My personal fav would be COOKIES N CREAM - main reason being one of my best friend's (when I was in elementary school) HOT older brother worked at the Thrifty Ice Cream counter. So I decided that I needed to have an ice cream flavor that was mine so he could remember it and scoop it for me without me ordering. It totally worked. Loved the looks my other girl friends gave me whenever I walked in and he already had it scooped out for me. Also, love the fact that the really good, cool ice cream scooper outer people always use the side of the squarish scoop to create a happy face out of the two "eye holes" left behind. Rite Aid has always been a fantastic place to grab all the necessary items to build a birthday package for someone you either forgot about or, the opposite, someone you know really well. They provide great stocking-stuffers as well for when Santa is running out of ideas. Thank you Rite Aid for saving me on a number of occasions. read more

Mixed review. After last night i was prepared to give a one. We went in to get some ice cream. After waiting about 5 minutes one of the two employees told us it would be just a moment and then disappeared into the back never to be seen again. This left one young man at the register to wait on the line of customers until he finally got done and was able to wait on us, a total of about twenty minutes of waiting. A definite 1 experience. Then today we went in again and it was a strong 4-5, plenty of help, friendly employees etc. And we didn't have to pull down the plastic Adirondack chairs so we could sit down while waiting. P.S. Stopped in here for one thing and one thing only: Ice cream. McDonald's machine wasn't working, so I decided to come here since it would bring back memories of childhood runs to Rite aid just for ice cream. Well, excuse my language and my bitchiness, but EXPECT NO ICE CREAM BECAUSE NO ONE IS WILLINGLY TO HELP. The lady at the register saw me and my fiancé at the stand, called for someone over the telecom to attend us. No one came. So, my fiancé asked her if someone was coming. She said yes, the proceeded again to call someone over the telecom TWICE to come. YET, NO ONE CAME. She even asked a worker who passed us to help us. Okay, you have ample workers stocking but who can't put down their task and help a customer. Wtf. I worked retail three years, no matter what you're doing- if a customer wants your attention, you drop your shit and give them attention. Paying attention to customers is SIMPLE customer service. Rite Aid pharmacy is not very good. I've had to get prescriptions filled there several times and my prescription has never been ready even when I've called ahead to make sure it was received AND I've waited to pick it up until it was supposed to be filled. The service is awful and the people who work at the pharmacy are just plain rude. The only reason they get any business is because they are the only ones around to fill prescriptions and people have no choice (a fact that is absolutely apparent when you deal with their staff). I am happy with the Rite Aid store in Morro Bay. They keep track of all my prescriptions, and they are always courteous and helpful, especially Edith! She is the only person I have ever seen who can operate 2 cash registers at the same time, taking care of 2 customers at once. Went in to get a heating pad and an extension cord. The girl up front sent me to the wrong area for the heating pad. She was finally able to get someone who knew where they were. This took about 10 minutes. When I finally went up to the register, she smiled and said to me, "Actually, I'm closed." I left my stuff on a shelf and left the store. Tomorrow, I'll hit Walmart to get what I need. Sadly, they seem to have (1) better trained employees and (2) better customer service than Rite Aid. I see no need to go back to Rite Aid. There are two pharmacists, the one karen is an angel. Then there is a Armenia pharmacists who is the absolute worse!!. I just had an experience with him where I had the prescription in hand and the doctor on hold to talk to him and his response was "I'm not going to speak to anyone and I will not be filling your prescription" not only is that extremely unprofessional but illegal. I used to shop here a few years back and would purchase wine and spirits there but the shelves were mostly empty. I noticed a HUGE change over the last 3-4 weeks. The wine and spirit department was full and has a great selection and very competitive pricing. I particularly loved the Jack Daniel's and Titos displays. Those are my go-to drinks. Very creative! This is the worst Rite Aid I've ever had to deal with. And i've given them chance after chance after chance. The pharmacy screws me over every time. I've been refilling the same medications since 2018 on a monthly basis and they never keep a crucial medication of mine in stock (even though I've asked many times). I have sit on all of my other refills until they take the extra days EVERY SINGLE MONTH to get this one in. And this time, they failed to let me know one of my other medications was out of refills, so I waited all week to pick them all up at once and now, it's the weekend and I cannot get a refill until Monday, which I needed it today. Plus, the store has never felt safe to me during the pandemic...I seem to always experience either a non-mask wearer or MANY wearing ill-fitting masks/ masks below their noses (which don't protect the rest of us) and nothing is ever done about it. DONE with this store, don't care if I have to drive an extra 25 minutes from this point forward, it will be worth dealing with a more professionally run Rite Aid. read more

DONT GO HERE!! This pharmacy has some of the most incompetent staff I have ever seen. Not only are they extremely rude to you they are incapable of readying a fax. My prescription was fax over 2.5 hours before i decided to pick it up and when we showed up they had no recollection for my prescription. Until they went over to " discarded paperwork" and threw the prescription at me and told me to write down your information. The fax was perfectly legible. But she had a problem with the fax why didn't she call the doctor it was sent from... no she waits two and a half hours for us to come in then to make us wait another 30 min for her to "get to my prescription." I think this place is run entirely by mentally disabled people. Everyone seems vacant eyed and confused. The worst part is trying to pick up a prescription. Everyone who works at both locations obviously half ass's everything, they've never tried to go above and beyond for any of my concerns such as the employee at the San Luis Obispo location. This might be the 4th or 5th time my medication was not ready on time....they've caused 3 seizures due to my epilepsy by messing up their inventory and "transferring it out" NEVER trust rite aid with your meds. read more

I've pretty much rated every other chain place here that I frequent when I'm in the area. Why should Rite Aid be any different? I don't think this place really deserves the average 2 stars that it has been given. This place is always well stocked with a full pharmacy. Unlike other places in the country, Rite Aid is allowed to sell alcohol although they are competing with the Albertson's which is right next to them. They have all your staples and I found the sales people here to really be helpful and genuinely trying to be nice. It's really not a busy Rite Aid at all so I find myself easily zipping in and out even at night. They share a large parking lot with the Albertson's so you really shouldn't run into any issues finding a spot for your car. read more

They have the absolute WORST pharmacy techs I've ever had to deal with. Besides ignoring the people that are picking up prescriptions, they have so much attitude that I go elsewhere now where I don't get ignored while standing there. And I'm not just talking about one person there, it was all of them. No wonder they constantly had hiring signs up around the pharmacy.
