I want this to be five stars, but I cannot. I'm so glad this store is here. They have a lot of gift options, which is why I shop here. I don't use this pharmacy but the pharmacist seems really nice. I did see a sign up that they are unable to take new prescriptions at this time. There's a small selection of pharmacy-type items, like first aid and some beauty products. The gifts are their big thing, though- for pretty much any occasion. They also offer free gift wrapping with nice paper, ribbon, and a gold foil Rexall sticker on the package. My main hesitation for that fifth star is the unrelenting onslaught of "can I help you"s, where it almost feels like you're being monitored while you browse. Of course it's always great to have help when you need it, but I find this level of engagement disconcerting and it makes me want to hurry up and get out of there. The prices on most items are higher than my budget allows, but they seem to be making the model work. I bought a pair of earrings here for $40 last week. It was too close to closing to have it gift wrapped but the cashier asked if I'd like a box for them. When I got home I realized she'd bent the cardboard card the earrings were mounted on to fit it into the box. Not a big deal but this did not make for a great presentation of them as a gift. This has not been my experience usually, as they almost always do a very nice job with the (free!) gift wrapping. They are closed on Sundays. read more

I'm shocked that I have not reviewed this place as I've been going to it for a few years. My hairdresser told me about it. My girlfriends and I went today and we all bought some Christmas gifts. They have the best chocolates and so reasonable and you can get milk or dark. I got an ornament and another girlfriend bought these cute gloves for a granddaughter. I have also bought jewelry here before. One time I needed believe it or not lime green earrings and they had them. The gift wrap for free which is great. Nobody's pushy and they have lots of people to help you. They have acute assortment of toys for young children. For adults like me, purses, jewelry, some clothes, candles, and I can go on. Love Love LOVE this place. Ok, so this is a pharmacy, but I feel that's secondary. When you walk in you take one look around and just KNOW you're going to be there a while looking at everything they have to offer. They display everything in a really cute way. You know they care about supporting locally and displaying artfully. I needed a unique gift for a 1 year birthday party. It was a 22 min drive (one way) for me but I figured I'd give it a try. This place did not disappoint. They have an entire section full of all kinds of really fun and exciting gifts categorized by age bracket. The staff was very helpful and didn't hover. I bought way too much (everything that I was shown lol) but you only turn ONE once right? Did I mention they gift wrap? Definitely coming back for the next time I need a unique gift for an adult or child. Might just switch my pharmacy to this place so I have a reason to come back and peruse on the regular. read more

Charming gift selection at this unique pharmacy/gift store! I had heard about it from several friends in Los Osos, and when on a quest for a 3T dress for my niece's upcoming birthday, we made the expedition out to Los Osos to explore the store. It wasn't where we thought it was, so we Yelped it and found the location on the left side of the road going out toward Montana de Oro. I had checked out their facebook page for photos ahead of time, and saw that they did indeed feature gifts. I had pictures a small section in the store, but on walking in, I was enchanted by several displays of creative and imaginative gifts. I was greeted warmly by a young staff member who showed me their stock in dresses, and while they did not have a size 3T, I would definately return when my niece gets to a 4T (it seems all the chic clothes for kids start at 4T). An extremely helpful young man showed me a unique gift that made me laugh out loud! I said we were looking for water themed gifts, and he demonstrated some Plexiglas ice cubes that light up when in water! I immediately selected some, and will return for more! Entranced by the novelty of the items on display, I perused a few more aisles, but knew I had limited time. I picked out a cool gater/scarf in leopard print which can be used as a mask, for my fashionista mom, and at the checkout counter discovered a 2021 Daybook printed like a Medieval Bible cover. Having taught Art History, this was my cup of tea! (And discounted as we are partially into 2021)! This purchase made me feel good about the whole year! Everyone in the store was so welcoming and engaging, this will surely be a must stop whenever we are in Los Osos. Im not typically one to leave a review but I just can't say enough good things about this place. I live in Cayucos and I have a 1 year old son with type 1 diabetes so we get prescriptions regularly and I drive the extra 15 minutes to go here. Everyone there is so sweet and efficient and will even go an extra mile for you. Once I went with my son who finally took a nap in the car and when I got there the pharmacist Jason brought our perscription out to my car without me having even asked. Not to mention if you do have to wait (which is never longer than a few minutes) you have the cutest little gift shop to walk around and look through. 5 stars just isn't enough for this gem of a business read more

This is the most wonderful and surprising "drug store." It is a gift shop primarily and loaded with something for everyone. From slippers to jewelry and jams, all of it is beautifully displayed and their complimentary gift wrap is top notch too. They even have a little mini golf putting area and seating in the back. Absolutely garbage. DO NOT SHOP HERE. I expect so much more from a local business. I parked in front of Rexall for less than 2 hours AFTER they were closed. The psychopath that owns the place has a camera and calls the tow company to tow your car after hours. What the hell do you gain from towing cars in spaces that aren't affecting your business in the slightest?? Because, ya know, YOU'RE CLOSED?? There is ONE non-reflective sign between about five parking spaces that I legitimately did not see. After realizing my car was towed and reading it, it doesn't say anything about 24hr towing. This cost me $290. Telling everyone I know I never shop here again. Some sense of community the owner has. Ridiculous. read more

The pharmacist and staff go out of their way to provide the best customer service you could ask for - exceptional client service, really caring about the individual's needs and going out of their way to help. I give no shade to box store pharmacies because I'm sure they just don't have the bandwidth or company culture to provide such personal care to each customer, but Rexall does. It was under unfortunate circumstances that we needed some quick prescriptions - I asked my husband to try the local Recall Pharmacy instead of the big chain down the street this time. He came home in awe of the entire staff, especially Jason the pharmacist. And the best part? He had a small gift for me which was hysterical! This is a fantastic pharmacy! I was super frustrated with the poor service at the Rite Aid in Morro Bay. I just moved all my prescriptions to Recall, and am so glad I did. I mean, this is the thing: would you rather: a) wait in long lines at CVS in SLO only to get to the counter and hear that they haven't received your doctor's electronic order (lie x 2 since they sent it over twice - oh, what? you actually DID have it? Thanks for letting me know days later); b) have a total wad for a pharmacist at Rite Aid in Los Osos (who told me my kid shouldn't be in school from 9 to 5 - not that I asked his opinion or needed the guilt trip at being a working mom, which he CLEARLY frowned upon, but also didn't offer to pay my bills) or c) be waited on like a movie star getting the royal treatment, fast service, and even free delivery of my medication while perusing a fancy gift shop with awesome jewelry, makeup, tons of birthday cards, and the best children's toys? If you answered "c", you'll have to try Rexall in Los Osos. I know they close at 6. I know they aren't open on Sundays. But for those regular prescriptions you get (non-emergency, 3 am kind), why not treat yourself to a place where 4 people wait on you, with a smile, call you by name, and give your kid (who is loving school and hates leaving when I pick her up) a special treat for being so awesome? In today's new world, Customer Service, knowledge, knowledge, and professionalism are almost an element of the past. For 35+ years, and as a second-generation individual of my family to frequent Los Osos a Rexall for my Pharmaceutical and health necessities, I can tell you honestly that those critical aspects have stated above have never changed. I also feel it is necessary to note that the outstanding pharmacy employees are by far the kindest and helpful. Both of the Los Osos pharmacists, Dr. Jason Tewell and Alan, have always taken the time from their busy workloads to greet me as I walk in. They have quickly come to my aid with any help or advice regarding any medical questions or my prescriptions. They both, Time and again, have given me excellent health care advice regarding any of my ailments, injuries, or traumas. The bottom line here, and I feel is most important to convey, is that the entire staff's sympathy and compassion are is profoundly evident and sincere at this Los Osos Rexall. Therefore, as I noted initially, {" In today's new world Customer Service, knowledge and professionalism are almost an element of the past."} The monopolized pharmacies of today, the CVS's, Rite Aid's, Vons, Target's, Walmart's, etc... no longer have that personalized customer service or knowledge. It's typical to stand in line for long periods to receive your necessary prescriptions at one of the standard monopoly pharmacies. Most likely, you're going to receive service from AN overworked better employee. Hence it is just a pure logical choice for me to ALWAYS make the trip over to Los Osos Rexall for all my prescription and health needs. BTW... The unique gifts they have there at that location are just as genuine and sincere as the staff. Really outstanding pharmacy. I am an emergency physician and have dealt with many pharmacies, but this one is superb. The highest marks go to Gary and Jason who have clinical expertise backing them up. All the service people are so friendly and kind. This pharmacy reminds me of the one in the small town in Missouri where I grew up in the 50's and 60's. This type of personalized service is extremely rare in this age of big business.
