The only challenge I during this whole process was with the transport company themselves - they had agreed to a delivery period (after 8pm because my friend receiving my vehicle works full time) and the day before insisted my friend HAD to be available from 12-2pm to receive my car and they could not do any other time. They essentially forced my friend to take a day off - and on the day of delivery, the transport company kept running late and ended up delivering after 8pm anyway! That was really challenging for us working out receiving the car.

It was moved on a car carrier uncovered, so my nice garage kept motorcycle arrived covered in road film and grease. There was not any communication between the driver and me. I had less tracking than a $20 fedex package and my bike arrived a day late. I waited all evening for my bike to be delivered only to come to find out it will arrive the next day which of course, I had to keep contacting them myself to find out. Once the bike arrived I was asked to pay $350 cash or the driver wouldn't release my bike to me. At no point was I ever told to bring cash. All in all, this was a very poor experience.

That was not true -- the delivery was handled by a third-party driver operating his own truck, who told me directly he doesn't work for IVL. My delivery window was 8:00-11:00 AM. At 11:10 AM the driver called to say he'd overslept at a truck stop. He didn't actually arrive until roughly 2:20 PM -- over three hours late. He also showed up alone, without the helper he'd arranged, so I ended up doing more than half of the physical unloading myself, over about 5.5 hours. On top of that, boxes were not placed in the labeled rooms as promised, and multiple items were damaged in transit: a standing desk destroyed, a dresser leg snapped off, a lamp bent, and wall décor broken. I was also quoted and given a binding price, which was reversed to a higher number at pickup and justified with a vague "±10% tolerance" clause that didn't actually support the increase. And rather than paying IVL directly, I was repeatedly asked to send payments -- thousands of dollars -- via Venmo to personal email addresses I didn't recognize, which in hindsight is a major red flag for undisclosed broker/subcontractor use. IVL has a good BBB rating and a long track record, which is why I chose them -- but my actual experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and not what was represented at booking. If you're evaluating them, ask in writing (not just verbally) exactly who will be handling pickup and delivery, and don't assume a binding quote will hold.
