I visited this truck for lunch one day while at work. I was actually on the way to my usual deli but I came upon this truck and decided to give it a try. Their location was in judiciary square and they said that they would be here every Wednesday from 11-2. The staff is very nice and informative. They greet you with smiles and lots of information. My food was veryyyy tasty. I'm satisfied and will be back another day. I spent about $16 on this burrito, it's kind of pricey. You have to buy the sour cream and other small things on the side that would normally be free anywhere else. But otherwise, I'm satisfied. :) read more

I just discovered this food truck near my office and it is my new favorite lunch spot. The staff is super nice and helpful, and the food came quickly. I got 2 tacos with chips and salsa for $14.99 and the tacos were awesome. The carnitas was tender and slightly sweet and the asada was seared perfectly. The salsa verde was also very, very good, tangy and with just enough heat to wake you up. Highly, highly recommend. read more

There is just enough pico de gallo for flavor with little of the useless filler that you'll find in your average, everyday burrito...as these are exceptional for sure. With every bite of this luscious roll of meatiness, I tell myself it will be the last...but the enticing flavor just tempts to take just one more bite...then another...then another...and then another...until there is nothing left but some fresh tortilla chips - now left all alone in their container. My husband is obsessed with food trucks. Even with his recent acl surgery, he would still make his way from work to check out the rotating lunch options. With glowing 4.5 stars, I convinced him to line up with me on the only day I had off thus far since we moved to the city (yay to visit husband at work!). Surprisingly, Rito loco was actually one of the few that he had not tried. My husband ordered the rib burrito and I ordered the Mojito chicken salad. The food were served before I had time to put my salsa/sauces into condiment containers. The owner was friendly and gave us free bottles of water to go (he felt bad that the snapple offer was still available through check in). He even put together a side of chips for my salad so it wouldn't get soggy. I wish I can say all the food was 4.5 stars awesome but it wasn't. My Mojito chicken was extremely bland. It pretty much tasted like it came straight from a can. My husband's rib was very flavorful however! I should had just been a full fatty (why salad why?). With the pressed/toasted tortilla, melted cheese, juicy pico de gallo, and pulled apart pork rib, his burrito was money. Lesson learned. Got a chance to check out this wonderful food joint during my day trip to DC & wasn't disappointed. I had the Rice Bowl with Pork & i have to say it was very very delicious. The depth of flavors was present, meat very moist & flavorful, thinly shredded. The owner (Louie) stopped by to check on the food to make sure everything is OK & gave us complimentary fried avocados & a free Yelp check-in taco..!! Not disappointed at all. The freshness of the avocados was greatly enhanced with the depth of the Chipotle sauce! Everything made from scratch & no short cuts, which shows in the flavor profile. I was wondering if I would l like a non-traditional burrito. Because I love traditional burritos (or at least what we think of as traditional). Short answer: Yes. Yes, I do. Rito Loco offers some fun fillings for your burrito. I went with the Mojito Rito--citrus infused pulled chicken, cheese, and pico de gallo. It was really light and tasty. My favorite? The beautiful char marks on the flour tortilla. It was browned in certain spots, which provided a nice textural contrast. The tortilla chips were fresh, and I loved the salsa verde. Amazingly friendly service, too, which I always appreciate. Just like I appreciate that Rito Loco comes to Ballston. I'm just sad it took me so long to try them. read more

I tried this place after the WPGC Birthday Bash. They had a choice of 3 meats (Chicken, Pork and Beef). Though the beef was ground beef it was still savory. The trucks owner gave me a delicious sample to lure me in. The portions were awesome and the service was great. If there was one thing I had to critique, it would be to dial back the spice in ground beef a bit. Ground Beef is super dense when packed into a tortilla. With just the meat and pico de gallo topping, the spices kind of got the best of me. I like spicy but, I had to wait till I got home to add a lil bit of lettuce to cool my buds down a bit. LOL. I'm surprised that I'm only the fifth reviewer for this truck as I would think they would have a huge following on Yelp. For starters, the guy working the window was so laid back and friendly that I didn't mind having to wait for him to power down the register then bring it back up to run my card (yep, they accept debit cards!) Note to others....good customer service will get you satisfied customers. I ordered the rib rito. The concept of this truck's burritos is pretty neat: lots of meat, cheese, and pico, wrapped in a crispier-than-most tortilla (the best part). My only wish was an addition of some lettuce. This was pretty bad. I had a hard time finishing it from a taste perspective. When I was eating the chicken it reminded of that crockpot chicken that your cousin makes and your cousin isn't a very good cook. Super bland and dry. The "salad" means "burrito contents on top of baby spinach". The cheese is the three cheese blend you can buy at Giant, thrown on top ice cold. The only redeeming quality was the red salsa was actually spicy but the problem is, it was probably just bottled. This whole meal felt pre-made. This review is for Rito Loco's Catering service for a Birthday Party. For our son's first birthday we wanted to try something different so we looked at different food trucks. After contacting several trucks, a friend of mine introduced me to Rito Loco. When others denied coming all the way to Clarksville, MD from DC, Louie had no problem traveling the distance. He also catered on a Sunday, where most trucks told us no. If you advertise that you cater parties and events then shouldn't you be available on Saturday AND Sunday? Anyway, we were just glad that Rito Loco was available, his burritos are much tastier anyway. Louie, the owner of Rito Loco was very friendly and easy to work with. He worked with us to find the perfect menu to fit our party and budget. Louie and his associate was on time, very friendly to our guests, and shelled out burritos and tacos so fast. Now on to the food: We are not big pork eaters so we asked Louie if there was a substitute burrito or taco for the Rib Rito, and he said he would come up with a fish taco, a new recipe. And I love him for it because IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!!!! Not only did he take the time to create the perfect taco for our event (which made me feel so special), he made it so freakin delicious!! Our guests raved about it all day. And I'm pretty sure people ordered extra to take home. Rito Loco's burritos are filled with meat, fresh veggies, and great seasoning, thats it. Nothing else needed. It's not overstuffed with rice and/or beans to make you crazy full, its the perfect amount of protein and carbs. They do serve beans and salsa with chips on the side though and let me tell you, these beans made me want to swim around in it. He cooks it with all kinds of different herbs and spices and you can tell theres a lot of love that went into them. When I saw those bay leaves simmering in them, I knew it would be great. Our guests had an endless supply of burritos and tacos that day and they loved every kind. Hiring Rito Loco was the best decision I could've ever made. It was great food AND I didn't have to cook!! Rito Loco seems like a solid addition to the food truck lineup at Farragut Friday. I sampled their Mojito (Chicken) Rito today, and was happy. It tasted healthy for starters, which is good for those who might not want a cup of rice for lunch. My only complaint is the chicken was quite dry (which made it chewy). I'm giving them a placeholder 4 stars for now and will be sure to try a different menu item and update my review. I really wanted to try the Rib Rito, but knowing what Ribs are like, I had a feeling I'd be biting into a tortilla full of pork fat, and didn't want to knock these guys down for that. If someone has tried it, I'd like to hear your experience! The co-owner who helped me, Daniel, was super friendly and made our quick conversation very pleasant. Rito Loco has quickly shot to the top of the list of my favorite food trucks. I stumbled upon Rito Loco I had the Rib Rito and it was delicious. The rib was flavorful. The portion size was huge, might easily measure out to a pound but it wasn't a situation where size was more important than quality. Ingredients were fresh and everything was well put together. Service was good, the guy was friendly and responsive to questions. Food also comes very quickly, I guess they make the food throughout the day and have serve ready for order. They also somehow keep them surprisingly warm. Definitely will make Rito Loco a part of my regular food truck rotation. read more

I felt like I was "cheating" today as I walked past one of my favorite trucks (Bada Bing) to try out Rito Loco. I was promptly greeted by the proprietors who introduced themselves as Louie and Dan. I opted for a Rib Rito and received a free Snapple for my first Yelp check-in (bonus!). Louie quickly pulled my order out of a warming cabinet (already made) and handed it over with a frequent dinner card explaining the card and how to find their daily locations online (he doesn't know I am a food truck stalker :) I don't know if they have changed their portion sizes based on reviews - but whomever commented that the Rito was not very big should try again - this thing had to weigh at least a pound (see my picture with orange highlighter for comparison) and comes with a side of fresh tasting tortilla chips. The pulled rib meat was delicious, nicely seasoned with a bit of a kick, a nice addition of pico de gallo and a small amount of cheese. I wish I had asked for (or been offered) some of the sauce (see other comments - you have to ask) as that would have been a nice addition with the chips. I also wish I had grabbed some napkins as the Rito is a bit drippy. Also, bonus points to Rito Loco for using environmentally friendly cardboard packaging. Only minor quibble was that the Rito was not very hot (rather unevenly warm on the inside) - part of this could be from holding in the cabinet and I could chalk up a small part to my 10 minute walk back to the office. However, all and all, a nice meal, for a good price, served by friendly vendors. I will be back to try some of the other items in their line-up and will update my review accordingly. read more

I went to the physical location in Shaw and it's... really just okay. I had some chicken tacos. I don't mind paying for food if it's good, but this place really isn't delivering value for money for what it charges. I think I paid something like $9 or $10 for 2 tacos (and they charge almost $1 extra for even basic toppings like sour cream) with a side of chips. The tacos were definitely good, but not for the price - it was just expensive and not in a justifiable way, especially because you can't customize the tacos without it becoming expensive. This makes me sad because I work in this neighborhood, and the only lunch spot that I've found so far that's reliable is CAVA. If it's a one time thing and you're in the neighborhood, I would still recommend it, but the price kind of prevents it from being somewhere I'd regularly go on my lunch rotation. read more

I'm partial to tacos over burritos but really enjoyed the carne asada burrito I had from here. The tortilla was crispy and the filling was tasty. And while the food was good, what struck me was how awesome the owner Louie was. I intended to pay with my card but the cashier was having an issue with the card reader. I did not have cash but he insisted I take the burrito and not worry about it. I asked for a business card and reached out later that week to try the payment again and he would not take it. Customer service and kindness seems to generally be on an overall shortage these days and I'd like to recognize this is an owner serving up just that along with delicious food. I have never *wanted* to eat at a food truck... until now. I had the Mojito Rito at the Rito Loco truck a couple of days ago when it was parked outside Washington Sports Clubs on Connecticut Ave in Dupont and it absolutely blew my mind. I don't even really eat burritos since I graduated from high school. Back then, I would microwave a Patio burrito and call it dinner. This burrito has taught me what a burrito could be... Flavorful awesomeness. I've been on a health kick lately, too, so the fact that this thing was really high in amazingly flavorful protein and really low in useless carbs (aka rice)... well... that just made me want to order two. But I controlled myself. Sort of. Once I tried the homemade red spicy sauce, I lingered at the window so that I could squeeze some of it over each bite. They also have a milder green sauce which is good, too, but I prefer the heat. I didn't even care that I looked like a complete piglet eating this thing as it dripped onto the ground in front of me. My former self may have cared. Not my current Mojito Rito eating self. She's a voracious slob. So here's the conundrum... How to find them? As Facebook is pure evil, and I'm Twitter-ignorant... I was pleasantly surprise by the Rito Loco Food Truck. I Often see it in Ballston, so I decided to finally give them a shot and they didn't disappoint. I ordered the Fish Burrito which was outstanding. The fish was tilapia and it was seasoned just right. Besides the fish, there is a four cheese blend and pico de gallo. Pretty simple, but flavorful. It was a fairly large burrito that held together well. They also provide complimentary tortilla chips on the side, but the chips were a little too salty for my liking. For another $5, you can get a full plate, which include guacamole, black beans, rice, and sour cream. Maybe I'll try the full plate some other time. I didn't have to wait too long (about 7 or 8 minutes) to receive my food. I will definitely be back! read more

I really enjoy this food truck. As a certified Chipotle addict, I was skeptical that I could love it as much as my go-to not-so-fast burrito joint. I tried them at their Howard University stop on a whim and Man was I surprised. They are nothing like Chipotle--and yet, that's the best part! No rice or bean fillers, just purely good stuff. The Mojito Burrito is FANTASTIC. I think they put a little crack in it to keep you coming back (jusssst kidding). You can also get it as a salad if you're watching your figure. I stumbled by this food truck literally. We left the bar around 2:30am and here was this big red truck with two adorable guys trying to convince us to give them a try. If I was going to have a fat ass burrito at 2:30am I had to go all in. Ordered the OG which was loaded with beef, pico de gallo and cilantro. I'm not sure what it was as there was a perfect hint of spice in every bite. While we ate we attracted many to the truck and before we knew it there was a long line. They do have frequency cards! Has no one noticed that they are serving their burritos from under a heat lamp and then plopping them on the pannini grill? There's nothing fresh about this. I'm not the kind of person to ask for my money back from a local business but there's a reason I never order the hot dogs at 7 Eleven; not even when I'm wasted. But let's say it was delicious and worth it, would I then choose to forgo my sanitary proclivities? Maybe. Unfortunately there is nothing Mexican about this burrito except for the pico de gallo. It tasted like something I would get from California Tortilla. I'm not sure whether this critique is harsh or forgiving since I haven't been to that place in years, but I guess that's saying something too. If that's your thing you might actually like this spot. I'm all for supporting local businesses but when you have such a nice large flat top behind you, why are you serving up ground, pulled, and shredded stewed proteins instead of cooking them up fresh? It was a hearty burrito because it was all meat but after a few bites, it became uninteresting. It definitely needed more items in it. Dang it...I never realized I never wrote a review on this. My BF was at Howard Hospital and we wanted burritos and trusty Yelp came to the rescue as it always does. The food was super flavorful. I loved it. They were nice and for checking in I got a free soda. I love that the burrito is tightly put together so you wont have any stranglers falling out. Thanks to my old faithful, tried and true, Belly App... I was able to sample this deliciousness. :) They currently have a free Caribbean Fish Taco, on Belly Bites promotions. I was not only impressed with the tasty taco, but also, the welcoming staff. I may have found my new favorite taqueria ... I mean, who doesn't love good tacos??? First, the coupon on yelp for checking in to the truck isn't valid. I was pretty stoked about getting a fish taco to go with my burrito but my dreams were crushed when the guy said they only do burritos on the trucks :( That aside, the Rib Rito is Amazing. The best burrito I've had. They don't mess with a bunch of rice and unnecessary stuff. It's a ton of meat (twice seasoned and delicious), tomatoes and onions. They really stuff the burritos. I must add a disclaimer: if this is your 1st time eating here, make sure you're sitting down. The 1st bite into that Rib Rito will put you on your butt. I'm a big guy, and it made my knees weak how good it is. I do wish they had a side or 2 to go with the burritos. You just get a side of tortilla chips. If they had street corn or some red beans and rice or something this would be an easy 5. Now it's about a 4.5. Definitely recommend! read more

These guys catered a party I attended and their burritos are off. the. chain. Really awesome. I don't think they did their standard menu, but the burritos were just offered as beef, chicken, pork, or veg. Went with the pork first and it was spectacular. All meat, soaked in delicious concentrated jus and just enough sauce/spice to make it over the top good. My mouth is watering just describing it. Their habenero sauce was sweet and just the right amount of heat, the guac was fresh and delicious. There was also a tradtional red tomato salsa and a green tomatillo/jalapeno salsa. I tried all of them and they were all delicious. Also the guys were really nice, and since they were friends with the hosts they came in and sat and talked about the food and the food truck business. I chatted with them about how the pork was smoked and slow roasted for the burrito. I need to step up my game because it was way better than I make; and I make a pretty good pork shoulder!
