I walked in a hot, twisted mess of tension, aches, knots . . . and from Miri's knockout combo of deep tissue massage and craniosacral magic (and whatever other modalities she incorporates in her style), I walked out of feeling relaxed and thoroughly tenderized, in the best way. I've had over 15+ years of different kinds of bodywork on this meatsuit of mine, and have developed my own standard of what makes an excellent massage, for me: 1) Clear communication with CMT prior to session about boundaries, injuries, needs 2) Soothing, comforting atmosphere with an energetically clean space 3) Calibrating pressure on my body with CMT to develop a touch-based "shorthand" 4) Confidence and trust that my bodyworker has taken in and paid attention to all the needs we spoke about, so that I can completely drop into the session and let go. 5) Session customized/tailored to my needs and not just a rote "sequence" of strokes Miri delivered on all these things and more. I'd never had hot stones used in a massage the way she used them on me - it was sooooo good, especially on my forearms (gua sha?) and I had small hot stones placed IN BETWEEN MY TOES, for goodness sake. Let me just start off by saying Miri has changed my neck & back problems around completely! I tend to hold a tremendous amount of trauma in these areas but after each sessions they seem to dissipate. She always listens to exactly what my body needs and follows with execution, leaving me in a complete state of bliss. I love Miri so much I just have to write another review for her since the last one I wrote has been over a year now. Miri is so consistent and adaptable. I've been seeing her for a little over 3 years now and I still walk away in awe every time. The last time I saw her (a week ago), I just had my brace taken off my leg from a torn ACL. I had been suffering from discomfort, achiness, and stiffness all over my entire lower body since February. I was so happy to see her but even then I was skeptical about the discomfort and stiffness leaving from my legs. But Miri knew just what to do. She had an arsenal full of magic and went all out. She used hot towels to keep me comfortable, hot stones (rubbing and placing them in certain positions) to get my legs loosen up, and freaking TIGER BALM in addition to her usual massage oil/lotion to really get the achiness to level down. Can't forget to mention her amazing massaging techniques too. I was in heaven! Because of my torn ACL, she listened to my body, did assessments on me every time before she dived into a deep massage around areas that needed it, and constantly checked in. She helped stretch out my legs, IT band, thighs, areas that I couldn't really do on my own. This was all so wonderful! I felt so relaxed after my session and later that evening I noticed that I was walking a lot better and without a limp (which is a huge win!). It is great going to see Miri, I have a lot of issues with my back, from being overly tense, and every week Miri is able to provide my muscles with the release they need. I can only tolerate deep pressure massage and fortunately Miri is amazing at that technique (I believe she is also very good at other techniques!). I have been a regular client of Miri's for several months (I moved to the Bay Area in January of 2016). I think she is a terrific massage therapist. She's very personable and friendly (she says almost nothing during the massage, which I appreciate). The sessions always last at least as long as advertised (I.e. a 90-minute massage lasts 90 minutes, not 80 as is common at high-end places like the Westin). She solicits feedback after every massage and incorporates that into the next session. She's extremely responsive to requests. I especially like head and neck work, so that's exactly what she provides. Every session is different, so she uses creativity during the massage. I highly recommend her. read more

I would follow Miri to the moon and back! I waited weeks to get a massage because I knew she would be starting her own practice, and she was booked at her previous location. I'm beyond thrilled she is literally 5 minutes walking from my home now. I don't really see a point in getting a massage from someone else. I really appreciate how attentive Miri is, not only from what I say in the intake form and the chat beforehand, but I noticed that Miri really holds a memory of your body from previous sessions and gets lost in making it feel better. She is in conversation with your body, if that makes sense. She really cares. Also, everyone should consider getting the 75 minute massage. Miri intentionally has a lower price than other practices, because she wants to encourage her 60 min sessions the opportunity to really address all their pain points. It's very hard to do a full body massage in 60 minutes. That extra 15 minutes really gives Miri the opportunity and time to properly get to all your needs. read more
