I didn't have an exact vision when I first came in and she showed me all the various designs and choices that I could go with for engagement rings. Ultimately I had some specific things that I wanted: 6 prongs, but with the ability for two side stones because I had some small side pieces from my late grandma that I wanted to incorporate. Anna scoured their supply and when we ultimately decided that their current vendors had things that were close but not exactly we decided to make it custom. I thought that making it custom would have been a high cost but it was extremely reasonable, and ended up coming in under my budget but the ring was exactly what I wanted! My (now) fiancé said it was a dream ring and looked exactly how she envisioned. I have probably 20 or so emails back and forth with Anna as I made small tweaks to the design and coordinated visits to see the diamond or the wax mold they made for the custom ring before it was cast. Their communication was always swift and thoroughly answered all my questions. A main reason why I decided to shop locally is because I was concerned about getting the size exactly right. Even after discretely getting her ring size, my estimation ended up being slightly too big. I went in with my Fiancé and they said no worries, it was an easy fix! While their goldsmith was finishing a vacation, they gave us a neat attachment that would temporarily make the ring smaller so we could keep the ring over the weekend and bring it in on Tuesday when the goldsmith was back. Plus, they're also getting a free insurance appraisal complimentary as a part of doing business with them. They even sent me a CAD of the ring design so I could see it in a "3D" way which was awesome. Seriously, whether you go from their existing selection or you go custom the service they provide is high quality and very attentive getting you exactly what you're looking for.
