Came here after a show at the rink on Friday night. The menu was limited. I asked if I could get the small portion of fish and chips and the server made it seem that was what I was getting. Our family shared fries and tater tots (they were big portions - good value for money). While the fries were great, and the tater tots were pretty good, and the fish and chips were also decent, the portion was small for $20. Based on what I saw on the menu, what I got was the regular sized fish and chips. Service was okay but could have been better. Overall what we had were all satisfactory. Just hoped that if there are two available sizes of something, they would confirm which one the customer wants. read more

My visit was with a group of 6 people who all ordered different items. In checking with how they liked their selections I learned that all were pleased with their choices. One comment on the grilled haddock bowl was that the fish portion was skimpy but otherwise good. Our server was very nice and service was great. The beer was good and the decor is cool. Rivalries has always been awesome. I went with my mom for dinner. We were sat immediately. They have their own private parking lot. Entrance and bathrooms are handicap accessible. The prices are great for portions and quantities. My mom got a Prosecco and I got the strawberry coconut margarita. It was fantastic. I had to order two. My mom got the sweet chili chicken salad which was awesome. Huge portion. I got the chicken bomb with truffle fries. The sandwich was delicious with Swiss cheese melted on the chicken, peppers, and onions. The truffle fries were fantastic. I couldn't stop eating them. Our server was awesome as well. Great spot! Met some co-workers for a late lunch around 1:00 on 10/22/24. There were 6 of us total, but 3 arrived about 40 minutes before the other 3. The server was great, she didn't give us hard time about holding a large table with just of us (there were only 2 other tables occupied while we were there) and made sure we had drinks and refills as needed. It's supper casual and I can see where it might get loud if it's full. To drink I had a Shipyard Pumpkinhead with a cinnamon sugar rim. It's a fall Maine classic to me and the first pumpkin beer I ever had. I still love it. For lunch I had the fried chicken sandwich that had a sauce described by our server as a mix between a big Mac sauce and Chick-fil-A sauce. I was quite excited to try that as I am a huge fan of Chick-fil-A sauce. Unfortunately, there was barely any on the sandwich. I asked for a side of mayo. Regardless of sauce or no sauce, the sandwich itself was great! I had fries as a side and they were hot and crispy. I enjoy Rivalries and I know my local friends do as well. Great spot! read more

I have eaten here a few times, the only thing I like was the Hamburger which is pretty hard to mess up. My Granddaughter had an, Al Fredo pasta dish which she said was great, but she usually eats at fast food places in her car, so I think eating at a real table made it taste better. I did see some Philly Cheese Steak Subs delivered to another table , they looked good but I didn't feel like donning a plastic poncho to wade in, looked really messy! It's a hard place to rate, not for "dining" for sure, but as a sports bar/beer hall and very noisy, yes, I would go back for a casual "feed" and have a beer. This review is over Rivalries curbside service (during the COVID-19 shutdowns). Our take out order was done in 20-25 mins, just as they estimated. My sister and I couldn't decide what to get so we split both the pulled pork sandwich with fries and the sweet Thai chili wrap with onion rings. We requested that they be cut in half or a plastic knife be included, to which they happily obliged. The person who brought the food out was fast and cheery. The packaging was uplifting and made us feel appreciated , with a cute little thank you note attached and a printed heart. The food matched the service-- outstanding! The amount in the packages was reasonable for what we paid. The fries were freshly cut, the rings beer battered and both perfectly crisped. The sauces on the pork and chicken were delectable. We especially loved the sweet chili. Neither of us like foods that are too spicy. This was just the right amount of zip at the end of each bite. Well done, Rivalries! I always feel bad writing low reviews. But yikes. I came here last night to meet up with a friend for drinks and dinner. Rather than do my usual paragraph, I'll do an easier breakdown of all my feelings... PARKING - not enough of it. For some reason this place is BUMPIN, even though it's somewhat hard to find and doesn't have a big sign. People were parked on the surrounding streets. Get here early. AMBIENCE - big, open, sporty. Plenty of tables. SO MANY TVS. I guess if you're a big sports fan, this would be a dream. I was entertained by the MASSIVE black and white prints of iconic sports moments (ARod getting pwnd by Varitek, Tom Brady being emo, etc). BAR - full and staffed well. However, I sat here for 45 minutes waiting for my friend to arrive. I ordered a beer then, and two more over the course of dinner. I asked for the tab for the beers. It was THIRTY DOLLARS. THIRTY! Someone else mentioned that that would not happen in Portland, and they are right. Like, come on people. BATHROOMS - clean. Freezing. The little plug in heater didn't do much. Could also see lines forming as there are very few stalls for such a large place. FOOD - this is where I was most disappointed. The menu is oddly overpriced for what they're serving... mostly pub fare and fried apps. Also, as someone else Yelped, there are ADDITIONAL PRICES for lettuce, tomato, and cheese.... what?! This isn't New York City. This is Falmouth, Maine. The burgers are already priced higher than Portland, and to add additional fees for what should already be on the burger? YIKES. Because of this, I skipped the Blue Mango burger and went with the Portobello Sandwich, as this is something that is very difficult to mess up. But somehow they messed it up. Per the menu: "GRILLED PORTABELLO Balsamic marinated portabello with lettuce, tomato, red onion and basil mayo on a toasted Kaiser." 10 bucks. LOL at the painful typo. This was a pancake-flat mushroom with a little leaf of lettuce and an onslaught of toenail-like red onions. It was really depressing. So bland. My beers were way more filling than the little dollop-sized mushroom. Usually, I can forgive places for not having many vegetarian options. But the one veg option you have.... is this bad? OOF. French fries were good. That was about it. I always ask for ranch on the side for my fries, but as I was worried they'd charge me my UNBORN CHILD for a side, I did not. TL;DR - normally, I say "come here for the drinks, skip the food," or "come for the food and skip the drinks." I say skip this place altogether. Sorry. read more

Average food, my challenge is cost for what you get. For beer and wings - there are better values out there. Location, environment/ambiance, not having to deal with Portland parking is a huge plus. Service is average every time we go, this time it was a little longer than normal but acceptable. My wife and I only stop in as a family as it adds up too fast for what you get. We were there over the weekend and for 2 kids meals, 4 wings, 1/2 salad and 2 beers (1 draft) for me and glass a wine and salad for my wife we're at $104.67 before tip. read more

Ok so I was hoping for a bit of an upgrade from the Rivalries downtown which has mediocre food but great sports atmosphere and it followed suit. This one is not the double decker like the one downtown but I do like the open concept with the TVs all around from every angle with black and white sports memorabilia at every single corner so for this, I say bravo to the enhancements. Love the wood flooring and the tall wooden tables and the staff is energetic and ready to take on patrons with a smile! The food though ... I don't know what it is and maybe I am just a food snob but it is just ok bar food where the one thing that they have going for them is the spicy chili sauce they use for their wings/boneless (wanted to get my son some wings and a dozen wings were 20 bucks so that was a bit steep for fries wings dropped in some sauce. I had the Caesar salad topped with grilled shrimp that that was also 18 dollars for that and the wife got the fried haddock and fries and she liked the fact that it was not that greasy and the fries had compliments as well. I want Rivalries to do well because there are really not a lot of sports bars around the area but of course some do like the food I am sure but from this guy it is just ok. I think I will come back for beers for a game with the TVs and atmosphere. read more

What a nice brunch we had at Rivalries. We sat at the bar and the service was great. Our bartender was friendly and made a great drink. They had a array of brunch cocktails. I usually get a Bloody Mary. They did look delicious but I opted for a boozy coffee. Yum! I had the breakfast tacos with home fries. They had scrambled eggs, pickled onions and bacon. My other half had the chicken & waffles. Oh man I wished I had gotten that cause they were delicious! Next time! Soooo good! We are from New York State and visiting the area. Easily got a seat (it was a Monday) using Open Table, which I love when traveling. Atmosphere is fun and clean! Staff is super friendly. The food is sooo delicious. We ordered the Mac and cheese, which you can get with different choices of meat. We went for the fried chicken and it was yum! A subtle smoky flavor to the Mac n cheese and tons of velvety cheese. We also ordered the haddock sandwich and tater tots. I love tater tots done in a fryer and these were great. The fish sandwich was on a nice bun. The fish was a little on the thin side, but fish can be like that. Also had the pretzels as an appetizer. Three fluffy pretzel sticks with cheese sauce and mustard sauce. We would definitely recommend this place and we will be back! read more

The bar area is a great setup to watch games, staff and bartenders were excellent. We were there for about 8 hours so had a wide array of drinks, bar food, happy hour food, and sandwiches. We were sat ...after 15 minutes of no one even acknowledging our existence, i went to the bartender to ask for 3 waters. She stated that our waitress would get those. The correct response would have been, yes I'll get those and send your waitress over. I asked the hostess if I could speak to the manager. The manager had previously been standing at the bar eating tater tots. She saw us being ignored and did nothing. When I informed her that we had been sitting for a while without even being acknowledged, she gave excuses. I have waitressed for 25 years and I know people get busy but not even to be acknowledged, seriously do better. I should known by the 3.5 rating. First time visitor. Service was excellent. Very basic menu with insanely high prices! Portland Proper prices- but located literally behind a Walmart. Rivalries recently added brunch to their menu, one look at the options and my boyfriend and I knew we had to try it. He ordered the corned beef hash (homemade corned beef) and raved about how delicious it was. I was blown away by the chicken and waffles. I've had chicken and waffles in the south and chicken and waffles in the north, this is by far the BEST chicken and waffles to be had. I can't wait to try the breakfast tacos! We ordered curbside, the staff was friendly and efficient!! Our order was ready in less than 20 minutes (we called from the parking lot lol) and the food was just as delicious as if we would have received it in the restaurant. I've been here a few times, It's a bit hidden off the main drag road but worth looking into. Parking out front of the restaurant is a rare privilege I've found. No worries though there is parking out back and is easy enough to get in and out of. Very casual ambiance inside with high tops and some simple memorabilia on the walls. Standard menu nothing really strikes me as amazing but everything is done well and I haven't had to wait long for anything over-ordered even when they were busy. I don't think people really hang out inside unless they are watching a game or so. Good drink menu and from what I have tried I enjoyed it. Friendly staff and there when you want them and maybe once or twice when you don't lol, Not something to get mad over though. It's located right off the main throughway in Falmouth so if you are shopping or doing errands it is a great spot to stop into and enjoy the cuisine. I say give it a go and enjoy! read more
