Really bad burger. Had no sear whatsoever and was basically just a piece of gray brown meat with a bun that was soggy from the Rattle sauce. More like a bland meatloaf than a burger. Ate lunch with daughter and granddaughter. I had fried fish and sub onion rings. First of all, the onion rings which were $ 3 more for the sub and they were extremely salty and nothing but grease. We went here the other week for the first time. We have heard about this place for a while and wanted to try it out. It's a nice little place with good decor and very friendly staff. We got a seat right away and everything came out very quick. We got cheeseburgers and fries and I also got a moxie float. The moxie float was great and it's the only place you can get it. The cheeseburger was very good with lots of flavor. The only thing was that the bottom bun got a little bit soggy. That was partially my fault for ordering two patties. I would definitely recommend trying this spot out if you're into floats and some of the best burgers you can get around. From the vibe to the prices you will be satisfied. read more

Afternoon day date with my 5 year old. She loved sitting at the bar, acting like an adult. The service was great, the vibe/atmosphere great, the food bland. We ordered a milkshake. Sitting at the bar I just watched the guy pull the ice cream machine and put it in a cup. My internal scream "what just happened?" Next I ordered a AC Burger and my kid ordered the chicken nuggets. The food looked great but just very under seasoned. Nothing was seasoned properly. The fries bland, the burger, bland. The sauce on the burger, bland. My kids nuggets, bland. This is the best burger joint! You can eat inside and out. Family friendly with a kid's menu. The shakes looked amazing and they also have alcoholic shakes. My burger, a&c cheeseburger was perfect! I had high expectations, went for my son for a lunch date. Unfortunately due to the local construction it was difficult to get to their location. By means no fault of theirs. The restaurant has potential and had a fun vibe. The wait staff was clearly not feeling it the day we were there. I always like to ask the waitstaff what their favorite item on the menu is. Our waitress said she didn't know! My son ordered a burger, I ordered the chicken sandwich. Son enjoyed the burger and I had wished I had ordered one as well. Their chicken sandwich is a thigh, it unfortunately was over fried, the outer coating was so over fried it was difficult to eat.. the chicken inside was very dry. We had a server who brought us waters right off the bat, which was nice. (Younger woman with long dark hair and was wearing a beanie.) She came back a bit later to take food and drink orders. She returned with our drinks and then never came back to the table again. Food took quite awhile for them not being busy at all, much longer than one would expect. Our food was delivered by a different woman (blonde and middle aged) she was pleasant, I asked for some mayo and she returned with it immediately. I had a Rueben, which was extremely dry corned beef, cheese and sauerkraut. I walked up to their server station/hostess stand to request thousand island which they did not have, so asked for some relish and mayo (we had ketchup already so I could mix up my own dressing) , and the woman (who was our original server) looked exasperated when I requested them. My husbands burger was way overcooked and dried out. Our toddler had the kid's fish and chips, the fish was cooked fine, but had this strange metallic and chlorine taste to it. All of our fries were overcooked. They tasted as though they had been fried, sat in the fry basket until they cooled and were fried again to try and revive them. We paid (no check was ever brought to the table, we again had to approach the hostess stand/server station) and left, and will never return again. The sad part is, I had visited with just myself and my toddler back at the end of last summer and we had such a vastly different experience. Wow. This was our second time after having a great burger and tasty hand cut fries earlier this summer. It didn't feel like the same place tonight, not even close. I ordered the AC Burger and a side of house slaw. The burger had no seasoning and was about as bland as could be despite the "sauce" and the slaw side was simply laughable...literally some barely dressed shredded cabbage and red onion sitting on top of a good cup of...shredded lettuce. The fries are clearly now coming from a freezer to fryer. The woman next to us had raw chicken served to her and for me that is a deal breaker. The A&C burger is: grilled Onion roll, fresh pickles, shredded iceberg, sauce, crispy flattop cooked burger with melted American. The best homemade onion rings ever tasted. Chocolate shake is thick and delicious. They offer other treats like fried chicken sandwiches and boozey shakes but I can't stray from the original. Burgers come with fries & can substitute orings for additional charge (do it!). A tiny bit pricey but worth it. Two A&C burgers 1 w/fry 1w/orings and small chocolate shake is $45 but you won't leave hungry or dissatisfied. read more

Real burgers, and mine was cooked to a perfect hot pink medium as ordered. Fries are fresh, seasoned perfectly and crusp. Best of all... I can order any float I want including a Moxie Float. This was a fun find on the way to check out a lighthouse. We got a special for two hot dogs and chips, and it was great! The wait staff were really nice and chatted us up about some food history and whatnot. Nice chill cafe atmosphere with a bar inside. The only thing that bummed me out a little is that it's not like a full soda shop. They had some floats (root beer, orange cream, etc), but I'm not sure if they made them in house or not. This is a decently clean, strange little 1950's ish looking place but with an identity crisis. We went in for the BLT shown on the Yelp menu. They said they didn't have it anymore. They did have everything you need to make one on the menu though, even everything we ordered could have made a BLT. We ordered a grilled cheese with tomato soup and a wedge salad. There was one other table in the place and they were finished and had paid. The server continued to talk to them for a super long time while we watched our order sit on the shelf, my soup and sandwich getting colder by the minute. We had to ask her to get our food. The wedge was super sad, had maybe one piece of pathetic bacon crumbled up on a big, shaggy pile of iceburg that was severely lacking dressing; the dressing had no flavor and was a creamy unidentifiable sauce, almost no onion. Had to add salt and pepper. A complete bomb. We make these at home and eat them out all the time so we know how easy it is to make them delicious. Even with bottled dressing. The tomato soup was basically a paper cup of blended tomatoes from a can. No seasoning. Luckily, I was able to get some hot sauce and salt/pepper to bring a little flavor to it. The grilled cheese was a .75 cent at best American cheese and white bread sandwich. The cost for both was a joke for what was received. Not sure how they will stay in business, maybe from booze sales. The server was a seemingly pleasant human but definitely not focused. read more

D*mn good A&C burgers! Seriously sufficient for most everyone (except for teenager stomachs that can eat forever), the burgers were thick with the standard toppings plus what they described (and I agree) to be McDs Big Mac sauce....actually I can't imagine it's not better since they said the ranch was also made in-house. Fries were awesome - I always ask for extra crispy but they already were crispy so maybe I shouldn't have asked. Regardless, they provided upon request a little container of the big Mac sauce and it sure works great for dipping fries too! We didn't order anything else, which is good considering how full almost all of us were but the milkshakes looked like they could have hit the spot (boozy options as well). I wish I had taken pictures but alas I did not I can't understate how much I HIGHLY recommend this place, which we just happened to be driving by (lovely how that works out sometimes) read more

The drinks are outstanding and the bartender was phenomenal. Only issue we had is that the owner or manager was extremely rude. This man came over to the bar to accost my daughter and I for sharing a video with the bartender with the volume on. There were only a few people in the place and he made it a point to tell us it was too loud and would disturb others when there was no one near us. We tried to laugh it off thinking no one would be this rude and he must be joking. He wasn't and made us feel very uncomfortable to the point my daughter had to excuse herself to the bathroom to compose herself. You're in the wrong business buddy. A nice addition to SoPo dining--an adult soda shop. I've been here half a dozen times as it's close to my summer home. What keeps the rating from being higher is that this is a burger joint but they won't cook it to order! Vincent J., above, got his too rare and I couldn't get the rare I wanted. When I asked the server she said that they don't want to bother cooking to order b/c "then everybody would be asking for it " Well, DUH! that's why I didn't go to McDonald's! If you offer table service, you need to staff it!! If you want people to order at the counter, make that clear. It's very chaotic. Make sure your kitchen can handle the volume when you add an additional 40 seats outside on your deck. Make sure you have enough waitstaff too! Just tried A&C coming home to visit my mom for the weekend. This was an amazing burger! I got the A&C style burger with added bacon and Fresno peppers. The patty was juicy and cooked well, the toppings were super fresh, and the bacon was particularly full of nice smokey flavor. Also paired it with a chocolate strawberry shake and they had some killer onion rings too. It was a little pricey but the quality definitely made it seem worth it (which you can't always say). I wish this was here when I was growing up here - I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town. read more
