Just a half mile off of Jones Beach we came upon Endurance and her calf and for the next 3.5 hours observed them flipping, diving, blowing, breeching, and all the things wales do. Captain's dog Sophia alerted us every time the whales were about to surface. We even got to smell that lucious whale breath! Our marine biologist tour guide was great as well - she walked around and told us all about the whales and their behaviors. This is my at least 6th whatle watch (Alaska, P-town, Iceland, etc) but by far the most entertaining. We also enjoyed a spectacular sunset as well as a nearly-full sturgeon moon rise. The crew was friendly, the boat was comfortable, and we enjoyed beautiful views of the bay. It's a great short cruise, perfect for families or anyone who wants to get on the water without a long commitment. They offer a variety of options including private charters, kids summer fishing camp, open boat fishing, and special themed tours. One of the tours they mentioned is the Great Gatsby tour, which is not always available. The tour guide is a book writer who has written many fiction books and has a great ability to provide interesting details that make the experience much more engaging. Overall, it was a pleasant trip. If you're in the Port Washington area, Angler Fleet is a solid choice for a bay cruise or fishing adventure. We'll definitely consider them again for longer trips or one of their special events.

Even if you bring your own gear, they have it so dialed in from the rod size to the reel capacity to the line diameter to the oz & hook sizes! Respectfully leave your gear home. It's worth the $5-$10 to let them do it. Then after you fill your cooler, they gladly clean your catch to your liking (dressed or filleted)

Also, there are benches and tables throughout the property, which makes it convenient if bringing food or if you have children. Everytime I've gone, I've had a lot of fun and caught some nice ones. If you're looking for a new fishing spot or new to fishing in general, give this place a shot!
