New Management. In the last couple of months, they started charging tenants monthly pet fees ($35?), even though long-term tenants already paid the $500 one-time fee they required for having a pet. Also raised parking ($10) and are now charging for the storage units ($25) which have always been part of the resident package. Several and severely flooded apartments due to plumbing issues, impacting the elevators once again. Most times, down to 1 elevator due to one waiting for a "part", the other due to maintenance/workmen and move ins/outs. Unable to use the kitchen water/dishwasher for a full month due to repairs required for the plumbing issue. Insects everywhere. Also tacking on "Rent Plus" charges of $10 without notification to "improve" your credit rating, even though you didn't ask for it and don't need it. Was told you need to "opt out" for it to stop, even though you weren't informed about it in the first place. read more

I lived in this building for three years, and unfortunately, by the time I moved out, I was disappointed. My frustration is not based on one isolated incident. It is the result of a pattern of poor communication, lack of follow-through, inconsistent responses, and very little effort to maintain positive relationships with residents. The most significant issue occurred after a major water intrusion in my apartment. Water entered my unit from an above unit. My rug, furniture, baskets, dog toys, and other belongings were affected. Eight pieces of drying equipment were ultimately running in my approximately 740-square-foot apartment. The noise from the equipment reached approximately 79 decibels. I was initially told by a flood mitigation employee that my apartment was uninhabitable, that the fans would remain for an extended period, and that the work could potentially take weeks. Management later disputed what I had been told. That was frustrating. They wanted me to leave my small dog there with the industrial fans and people in and out. I ultimately stayed elsewhere for a period of time, losing use of my apartment and parking. During that time, I incurred additional expenses, had a significantly longer commute, had belongings damaged or discarded, and had furniture warp from the water. Management cleaned my rug, which I appreciated, but it was never the same and eventually had to be thrown away. Beyond that, I received no meaningful offer of assistance. Unfortunately, there were many smaller experiences over the years that contributed to the same feeling. I repeatedly reported excessive dog barking and what appeared to be pet urine left in the hallway on multiple occasions. I raised concerns about a neighboring apartment door that was extremely marked up for months and asked whether management could have the common area hallway-facing door addressed. Rather than simply addressing the concern, I received a response questioning why I was asking for it to be fixed. I take pride in where I live and would have liked my guests to stop questioning the damaged door. I later sent a detailed email explaining my concerns and never received a response. There were also occasions when only one elevator was operating, the pool was green, calls to the property manager went unanswered, and I saw management respond to resident complaints with a winky-face emoji, which I found surprisingly unprofessional. What was most disappointing was the overall lack of resident-focused customer service. I was a respectful and reasonable tenant. I communicated concerns professionally, gave situations time to be resolved, and often chose not to complain. I understand that apartment buildings have maintenance issues, emergencies happen, equipment breaks, and management cannot make every resident happy. My issue is not that problems occurred. It is how frequently concerns were met with defensiveness, minimal follow-up, inconsistent communication, or seemingly little interest in finding a resident-friendly solution. After three years, I left feeling that resident satisfaction and retention simply were not priorities. A little more kindness, professionalism, communication, and willingness to work with long-term residents would have made a significant difference in my experience. read more

I moved into the building and only lived there for 11 months. The first two or three months were great. But soon enough, management changed. The new management stopped caring. They sit in their office whenever their in the building and make themselves unapproachable. The lobby was constantly a mess. They were working on piping problems in the ceiling, but left it open and exposed for such a long time, and there wasn't even a bucket underneath it or anything. They were just letting rusty pipe water to fall onto the floor. I've found cockroaches around the elevator that leads to the lower level of the garage. The front door staff even changed. They went from friendly people who were always ready to help, to people who just sat there watching YouTube the entire time, and couldn't be bothered to get up to help. It was beginning to feel like a glorified dorm room. The biggest kicker though to me was how the new management behaved. First, one said a bunch of sexist remarks to my roommate and said how she didn't know how to handle money "because she is a girl" and would only reason when her boyfriend spoke to him. Also, there was an error in paying rent and it was due to the website. I went down multiple times to the main office to figure out why I was being overcharged, but no one was ever there. When I called, I asked if they could send me a screenshot of what they saw on their computers. (Something simple, right?) It took then three weeks to send me a screenshot. It even took me calling them and asking what was taking so long after multiple attempts of reaching out to them. When I finally got through to someone, it was a woman and she had a rude tone the entire time and her response was, "I'm busy and I don't think you understand how busy I am." I recommend finding somewhere else to live if you wish to live in the River North area. read more

This building is a mess. In 2024, there was a meth lab fire/explosion in the building -- flames, chemical exposure, the whole situation -- and management never notified tenants. The person responsible used a fake identity and was never caught, which really speaks to the lack of screening and safety protocols here. I swear on everything, I have texts to prove it, the doorman told my boyfriend he'd like him to "shove it up his a**". On top of that, there have been multiple serious floods inside units and common areas, all due to poor maintenance. There's also a persistent cockroach problem that they keep claiming is "under control," but it's definitely not. My sink sprays dirty water when our neighbors sink gets clogged. The plumbing is so bad that one day the sewage pipe burst in the lobby and sprayed sewage all over the lobby. There was literally sewage everywhere including all over the front door staff. Elevators are constantly broken -- it's a regular thing to wait 10+ minutes just to get up to your unit, and sometimes both are out of service. This place might look polished online, but the reality is far from it. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere. read more

Great building, but one doorman is ruining the experience. I've been living here since August, and overall, I've had a great experience. The gym is excellent, the amenities are top-notch, and the location is perfect--close enough to the action of River North but just far enough to avoid the noise. The service has generally been great, and I've had no major issues with the building itself. However, there is one glaring problem: a specific doorman who consistently treats residents with disrespect. On multiple occasions, I've had run-ins with him regarding my packages, my mail, and the use of the moving carts. He talks down to me (as well as others as I've been told) like I'm inconveniencing him, and has shown a complete lack of professionalism in these interactions. What's worse is that instead of helping when residents have their hands full (like with groceries), he'd rather be on his phone than do his job. It's frustrating and feels like a complete disregard for basic customer service. Everything else about this building is great, but this one individual is leaving a bad taste in what would otherwise be an excellent living experience. I will say the maintenance crew is great. The usually come pretty quick and fix any issues in the apt. However, the problem is with Waterton and the leasing agents. 1) 1st time I renewed my lease my rent went up $200. The second time OVER $400 MORE. Never late on rent once. Never caused any issues. It was non negotiable so I moved. 2.) When I moved out the place was immaculate except for I tiny bit of debris that woulda taken a 5 minute sweep. I was very disappointed by the way "Allan" the doorman treated me. He is very disrespectful to the residents and acts like he owns the place. He yelled and cursed at me. Allan is pushy, aggressive, too chatty and yelling at the residents, their guests, delivery people, and other building employees constantly. He is the most unprofessional doorman I have ever encountered. The building is otherwise really cool, unless kids takeover the outdoor terrace and make it into a playing field. This kills the vibe in the common area and pool. A patch of grass in a high rise apartment common area is not a playing field and management should stop this from happening. read more

Although nothing major has come up for me so far, the maintenance team are quick to respond and take the time to follow up with me after. Renter Beware. The building has gone down hill fast in the last 6 months since the management changed [again]. It used to be such a nice place. The courtyard gets trashed every weekend. Drugs. Garbage. Cigarettes. Massive parties. Dog poop everywhere. The Police are here multiple times a day. This could be a really nice place if the staff cared and took care of the place and enforced the rules. But they don't. People used to live here year after year after year, and now people can't wait to move. So many of the long time residents have moved out because the management has allowed the residents to destroy the place. SO much turnover in the office. Zoran. Tanya. Tyler. Mike. Raquelle. Dominique. Eddie. Ryan. Jessica. Jordan. And that's in 2.5 years. This used to be a great place to live when Tanya and Tyler were here. My biggest gripes - people smoke constantly [anything and eveything], the noise and dog owners let their dogs run loose and poop everywhere. But if you complain, they tell you you're high maintenance. I'm high maintenance because I ask for the rules to be enforced ? Most of the doormen and maintenance staff are solid - Benny has a chip on his shoulder and acts like he's doing you a favor. Lots of private security in overnights which doesn't help the security problems in the building. Btw :Units don't have central HVAC, only window units so electric bills can easily be $200-$250+ in the summer and winter. Look at Alta K or Left Bank - much nicer premium buildings, better taken care of, central air [not window units], laundry in unit, and cheaper price and free parking. Re. The construction - all of those complaints are 1000% valid. Anyone who lived through the courtyard renovation is entitled to complain. It was loud, it was dirty, it was disruptive, and it went on way too long. read more

I was a resident of RNP from late 2021 until recent. The building itself is fine, however the management is horrible. Absolutely bad. There was a fire in the top of the building that caused all of the lower units to flood (I understand this isn't their fault) but they managed it poorly. They had to do construction in my apartment to open up the wall and install industrial fans - exposing me to mold, and I couldn't even sleep in there at night. I work from home and they interrupted tons of my calls to do construction in the unit. They're probably going to reply to this with some BS response, but just know I spoke about this via email with them and they literally didn't care. Didn't accommodate in any way, didn't even pay my electric bill that their equipment was running from for days. Sooo please don't live here. read more

I lived here for three years - DO NOT MOVE HERE. The office is an absolute nightmare and the building is awful. The elevators frequently do not work and they consistently DROP floors. My dog has severe elevator anxiety because she was in them multiple times when they dropped. One morning it dropped and I flagged to Marco that it was dropping and to put it out of service to check it, and he rode it, said "oh it didn't drop for me" and kept it in service. Safety hazards. They are just lazy and don't care. Management is a nightmare to work with. Again, lazy and they just don't care. The only way they have ever responded to me is when I started standing outside their office, since they would ignore every email. The dog run is a disaster - they don't clean it and there are dog owners who leave giant poops behind. There are nice dog owners who consistently clean it and try to make it a good place, but good luck come winter. They don't even fill the poop bags. My last straw to get out of the building was the fire this summer that was 3 floors above me, and I had no idea it was happening. Additionally, they charged me for renters insurance after I moved out, when I had renters insurance and they charged me for it after I returned my keys. I moved out weeks before my lease was over so I could be done with them. Take note, the building is quiet because people are moving out, NOT IN. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Also for fun, I recommend you read the insane number of one star reviews. As you can see, there are a TON of real reviews here on Yelp - and I know there are even more because they are deleting reviews. I post this with hesitation, as I used to love living here. However, after contacting the regional manager and not receiving a response, I need to make sure other potential residents know what they're getting into with the new management at the building. River North Park USED TO be a fantastic place to be. When Tanya and Tyler were around, this building was immaculate (for being built in the 70's, especially) and all needs were addressed ASAP. With the change in new management at both the building- level, and both regional level, this has changed for the worse. After flushing my toilet, I discovered a LIVE COCKROACH in the toilet. I contacted the building management, and they didn't seem terribly concerned. They sent me with two "Roach Motels" and I was on my merry way. I followed up with the building management to see what they'd be able to do to make this right, and they were unable to do anything, which I find absolutely ridiculous. They offered to let me move out, which is impossible to do, given the pandemic. After receiving a less-than-ideal response from the building management, I contacted the regional manager, who never responded. In addition to cockroaches and lack of management, the maintenance of the building has declined. Artwork is missing in the hallways; I requested that it be addressed multiple times and I was ignored. The pool has algae growing in it, and the general operation of the building (packages, laundry, etc.) has declined. The staff that has been around for several years is noticeably unhappy and overworked as well, which doesn't make for a positive environment to live in. Again, I post this with hesitation and I'm deeply disappointed that I have to write this post. I thought I had found a gem within River North and was excited to settle down here for a few years. This false, negative mark on my credit made it difficult for me to rent without paying huge deposits (if at all). YEARS after I moved out of this place and stopped dealing with the inept and dishonest practices, I'm still paying for it. Literally. Make sure you leave 20 minutes early because you will be waiting for an elevator for that long. One elevator has been down for almost 3 weeks. The other is always being used typically for their workers/staff to go up and down. They haven't done a single thing to accommodate us for making us squeeze 15 people on one elevator everyday. Not to mention there was a fire in one persons apartment and several units flooded because of the sprinkler system not working correctly. The laundry was free for about a week because the card reader was broken. Of course that got fixed before the elevators so they don't lose out on any money. Lots of negative reviews here that are silly. Lots of complaints about the construction, which is over now that all the common areas have been renovated and the results are great! Also, i will point out that i was working night shifts during the courtyard renovation and complained to management about the noise during the day when I had to sleep, and management delayed construction for a week to accommodate me. I love the new courtyard. It is extremely spacious and very well designed and is a safe place to chill while maintaining social distancing. The gym has everything you need. Maintenance is quick, and the upkeep is unparalleled. This is a great community, and it is very affordable, especially for its location. If you are going for a nicer and newer building, you will pay double the amount of money for half the space. read more

I have read many negative reviews on here about River North Park Apartments. However we have lived in the building for two years & my post is going to be going down the list of stuff in a recent post from a Jim S with my thoughts. When I read his review his negativity rubbed off on to me and now I'd like to shoot myself. I disagree with many things he said so here is a counter review: In regards to having people "constantly" in unit- We have never had this issue unless we put in a request for maintenance. Which brings me to, every time we have needed something fixed, maintenance was there and had the issue fixed within at least one business day, depending when we put in the request. Example, our bathroom faucet had been dripping for about two days and the third day I turned on the cold water and the entire hot water handle popped off and water was spraying everywhere. I called down to front desk immediately and someone was in our unit in under one minute. He had the whole thing fixed within 5 minutes and even helped us clean up the water. I find the maintenance workers are extremely friendly and nice. As for the homeless men on the church stoop, that church does not belong to Waterton. If you pay attention, you will notice that the church often takes in those less fortunate for multiple events/food. I have never been bothered by either of these men and I have never seen them bothering anyone else, or panhandling for that matter. As for them sleeping there, would you like to let them sleep on your couch? They are homeless, don't be a dick. I will say that there is a strong urine smell is present outside the building most days due to owners not walking their dogs away from the building to pee. I have also witnessed people let their dog poop outside the building and just leave it. Now, this is a tough issue because they have sent plenty of emails and notices about people who do this however, their job is not to be on poop patrol. It's the simple fact that the people who live in the building need to pick up after their pets! As for other odors, I have maybe ONCE smelt a lingering stench coming from the trash room. Front desk was notified and the smell was take care of within a timely matter. As for marijuana, can't say that I have this issue either. However, if I did smell marijuana I think I could simply roll my eyes and get over it. I do admit that the doors to the units are pretty thin in that I can hear anyone opening and closing their doors. I do hear people talking when they walk past my unit but other than that, I don't hear noise coming from my neighbors when, for example, they flush the toilet or take a shower. And Jim S, you knew you were choosing to live next to the CTA line... not sure what you expected exactly? Although you can indeed hear the train, it is never loud enough to affect watching tv, sleeping or conversing with others etc 'Doormen' - there is a fob system for the doors for a reason. Safety! If they were to stand up and open the door every time someone walked in, anyone could come knocking on my front door. I think not being lazy as fuck and getting my keys out to open the door is definitely not the end of the world. Also, if I have gone and picked up a package or am clearly arms full of groceries, they do open the door for me. Maybe I'm just polite and that's all it takes? As for the fact that they can click open the door while sitting - WHO CARES. Their job is to sit at that desk, make sure everything runs smoothly, check in outside guest or delivery and to notify the tenant of said person. Pricing- you live in one of the best areas! DOWNTOWN RIVER NORTH RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH EXTREMELY SHORT COMMUTES TO THE LOOP! A new apartment building just went up a block over. The price of a convertible in that building costs MORE than my one bedroom and is much smaller. So if you think this is not worth your money, then I'm not sure you're in the right neighborhood. It also makes a difference when you sign your lease. Summer vs Winter. RNPA has negotiated the resigning of our lease with us twice now for lower rent. As for parking, I don't believe the building has any say in the pricing. It is not owned by the building, it is owned by LAZ. I agree though, LAZ, your pricing is ridiculous. & about the gym - get a gym membership, this is an apartment building. However, they do keep upgrading gym equipment. Staff - I have had zero issues or complaints about the staff in the leasing office, the doormen, the maintenance staff. I honestly don't know how anyone could have an issue. As for the doormen not always having the brightest smile, they work long shifts and I'm sure are tired, just as I would be. But when I prompt them with a hello and ask how they are, they smile and are friendly. Honestly, think the only way someone could have an issue with the staff of the building is to be an extremely negative person. If you are friendly, positive and polite, it seems to go further. In the Summer of 2013 I was in a pinch and needed the quickest relocation to Chicago as I could. After I noticed rent skyrocketed in River North, I found River North Park. I was a bit skeptical about the low prices. (Prices are low for a reason, always. Right?). Well, it was sight unseen moving in, and the moment I opened my front door of my convertible studio for the moving men, I was stunned at how the apartment was actually...well...perfect. They began renovation almost exactly when I moved in which perhaps may explain the super competitive pricing, although over the length of my lease I didn't suffer due to renovations. Many reviewers complain of the elevators, but as someone who has lived (and worked) in several condominiums in River North, I can say that the elevators are really not a problem at all. Check your privilege people, you live in building with 2 elevators and 1 freight. Do the math. The staff is incredibly friendly and not antisocial or robotic in the slightest. Everyone at this property is full of life and it is obvious they like their job. People don't like their job unless they are happy with the building they represent. The leasing office assisted me every step of the way, from moving in all the way until I attempted to find a new unit to stay at the property. (Unfortunately I couldn't, but really do wish I could). Julie is an absolute joy to work with. She went above and beyond for myself and my girlfriend. Zoran, the property manager was also very courteous and helpful. BUT...as you can see I only gave 4 stars. Nobody's perfect, I know, so let me rattle off the only things keeping this from a 5. -The internet service flat out sucks. If you're internet savvy, you're going to suffer. 12mbps download MAXIMUM. Nope, don't bother throwing money at AT&T, that's the flat out maximum you can get in your unit...good luck if you use more than 3 devices pulling Wifi. -The fitness center is seriously lacking. It looks more like a workout room in someone's home than a fitness center in a modern downtown residential building. Bottom line though, I'd still recommend the property to anyone. Great staff and a great unit are the most important things to consider when finding a home, and they nailed those. read more

When we finally did move out and paid our move out fees on time, Alyse Young (the assistant manager) sent us to collection by mistake and then refused to help fix the issue. It's mostly a dorm for corporate workers, but with some really diverse tenants. I mean diverse in every possible sense of the word, so go ahead and use your imagination. The neighborhood is great; you can walk anywhere. I'm selling my car. My apartment is clean (and small), so no complaints really. The doormen are pretty nice too. Decent facilities- pool, workout room, private park area with a grill and pristine landscaping. But it's the convenience that's king. 3 stars for feeling like a converted hotel. read more

Once I got there I was told to just wait by the leasing office and someone would be with me. A gentleman left the leasing and asking if I was waiting on someone and informed him I had an appointment. He stated Dominique would be available shortly and she has been busy all day. After waiting for 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, I never saw someone again. It is with a sense of profound sadness that I write this review. Emotions that emanate from the feelings of nostalgia I feel when I think about my old digs, River North Park. Newly renovated, with an attractive location just steps from all that River North nightlife has to offer, living here was a very comfortable and hassle-free experience. Having moved back to Chicago after a year in LA, I was looking for a quick place to weather the last minute transition through while I found a more permanent situation. After scouring through the very sparse options that were available in the winter of 2013, I came across RNP and was very pleasantly surprised by the what came with the unit: -very open layout of my studio unit (almost 600 sq ft and TONS of closet space), -the incredible view of downtown from the expanse of windows, -the attentive and hard-working maintenance crew (worked tirelessly to fix a slight leak in the window), -the very welcoming and attentive management staff (in the running for most attractive management staff in Chicago) -the very nice, but, very security conscious door-men (saved me from some sketchy situations. Thank God for sign-ins) I could go on and on, but here's the bottom line. If you work in the loop. LIVE here. Your commute will be seriously cut down with the proximity of the Brown Line. Red line is very walkable too. If you want a quiet community with minimal hassles and a renewed management staff very willing to harness the power of social media and community organization to keep the residents happy, LIVE here! If you want access to a very cool, newly renovated private park area with tons of layout space and abundance of grills. LIVE here. If you want access to, seriously, the best gym showers in all of Chicago, and a pretty decent set of work out equipment. LIVE here. Not even worth a visit. I scheduled a tour when I was looking to move and confirmed the appointment three times with the manager in the leasing office. However, when I arrived I was told she was on vacation and the other leasing agent working had no record of my appointment. Instead of apologizing for the mix up and offering to show me around, she boldly demanded to see my phone and emails as she did not believe that I actually had an appointment because her manager "would never ever make that mistake". She then continued to scream at me in the lobby and refused to do anything to try to fix the situation (also worth mentioning that we were the only clients there, she was not busy). Needless to say, I did not reschedule my tour. I emailed the manager, Raquel, to inform her of my experience, and never even got an email back. If property shows this type of treatment when they're still trying to convince you to live there, I can't even imagine how terrible it would be once they have your money locked up. read more

I recently moved in here and will say I'm disappointed with the management team and the lack of attention to a noise complaint I've placed. The walls are REALLY thin. I'm woken up every morning with loud crying and yelling from my neighbor's toddler. It's not worth the price for a small studio. Gym and other amenities are good and the courtyard is beautiful but it's a really big building and issues aren't really addressed in a timely manner. read more

Loved my lease here!! Great space, had (heard it's a new team now) great management. BUT There was tons of construction and it always started at 745-8am EVERYDAY!! I am basing my review off a tour of the complex, and the model units that I was shown. Given the assumption that a property would show it's best face forward in its model units, I am at a loss how this property could ever rent a unit at the price they are listed ad. I saw ads for River North Park Apartments all over Craigslist, and it was in an ideal area in River North so my fiance and I checked it out. Disgusting. First of all the units look NOTHING like they do on Craigslist. It should be illegal for a company to misrepresent itself in this way. The units I viewed were listed as 1 bedrooms but except for the walls separating rooms they were nothing more than basic studios. The kitchen had cabinets that were not put on level (even in the model unit!) and if you wanted anything more than a laminate counter you had to pay over $100 extra per month (of course the Craigslist ads had granite shown). I felt depressed in this building and can't imagine ever living there. The only positive thing about the 3 units I saw was the closet space, but unless you want to live in the closet I would not recommend this building. The most annoying thing about this property is that THERE IS NO ESCAPING IT! Every time I search for an apartment on Craigslist about 90% of the listings are for this building. They have about 10 versions of their listings so you think you're viewing different buildings, however, I have contacted the agents listing them and sure enough - River North Park Apartments! read more

WORST PLACE EVER, DO NOT MOVE IN HERE Here is why: 1) They charge you $50 if you lock yourself out when the leasing office is not open, and it takes only 20secs for the security guard to retrieve your extra key. Talk about rip off. 2) Out of 3 elevators, usually only 1 works, never more than 2. They pretend they are renovating, but there's no actual work done. It sometimes takes me 10 minutes to get out of the building. 3) They boast about the swimming pool, but it was closed for tha past year, and they kept lying about it, that it was almost ready. Now that it is open, the water is too cold and it is useless. 4) The gym has only one bench, and many track mills and bicycles, most of which are free all the time, and there's a line for the bench. Stupid management! 5) They don't respond to maintanence requests, and when they do, it is never effective. 6) They are always renovating, so the place looks like a ruin. I had a very positive experience with River North Park. 1. Management - Both the front office staff and the maintenance staff were kind and helpful. A couple weeks after moving in I had a leaky faucet, but it was fixed immediately. I didn't have any other problems. 2. Location - This is an ideal location. It is a quick walk to Michigan Avenue, or to downtown. I walked to work everyday (even in the winter!) and was thankful that I didn't have to take a taxi or the bus. (Food Recommendation: Three Greens is a block away and has a great brunch buffet.) 3. Amenities - The gym has a few treadmills, ellipticals, plenty of weights, a rowing machine, and other fancy stuff. It was always clean and functional (I should have used it more!). There is also a pool, and the courtyard has grills in the summer. 4. Room - The room I had was great! Lots of closet space, a nice shower, and a great kitchen (if I am being nitpicky ... there was no dishwasher, which I would have liked, but most places I was looking at didn't have one). The carpet was soft, the walls were freshly painted. It was like a new place. 5. Other - Noise is not a problem. I was in a studio on the courtyard. You can hear the Brown/Purple line go by, but after about 2 hours you are used to it, and it never bothered me or any of my guests. (There was also construction directly across the street from me when I lived there, but they only worked during the day when I was at work. And I think they are finished with that now). 6. Of Note - I lived in River North Park for six months, and then moved because of a job relocation. I also lived on the courtyard level (I believe these rooms are slightly different, and I didn't have to ever use the elevators). In sum, I would absolutely recommend the building for anyone who is looking for a great place to live in Chicago! read more

I currently reside in this residence, and while they say they only allow four guest up due to covid-19 city mandates, I only had three people over for my 21st birthday and all I see are the elevators packed with 10-15 people and loud noises all night from people partying on my floor. What really made me write this review was that the building shut all the water off to all residences with no warning/email this morning until hours after... Right before I had to start getting ready for an interview, so I had to rush out of my apartment in a hurry. In this rush I forgot my keys, upon arrival back to River North Park I asked the doorman if he could allow me back up in my room and explained my circumstances, and instead of being understanding, he argued with me and forced me to sign a contract that I will be responsible of paying $50 for making him get up out of his chair and letting me into my own apartment in which I overpay rent for. After telling him I don't feel comfortable signing the contract, he sat down in his chair and said he can't do anything unless I sign a contract of paying $50 NO EXCEPTIONS. I don't think properties who truly value their residents who pay rent to live there would do this under this type of circumstance. On Christmas Eve too. I'm ASTONISHED. Disclaimer - I'm writing this review 2 weeks in. Showing process - Very smooth. I had a realtor which booked an appointment for me and was shown a few different apartments, the amenities, and was given free parking in their garage. The part that I was happy with came a few days later, when I wanted to revisit and see the apartment again, I was accommodated very quickly. After seeing so many different apartments in a short timespan, this helped me become comfortable with my choice and apply online. Up till move in date - Very smooth. I worked with Karina who was great with communicating with me every step of the way. Replies to my questions came back very quickly and there were no hidden 'gotchas' that I encountered. My application was approved quickly and so was all the paperwork thereafter. I was given a checklist of things to do in advance (ex. set up utilities, book the elevator, etc) so I was able to prepare in advance. Moving - smooth, nothing out of the ordinary here. Living - like I mentioned, I'm just 2 weeks in. Great location, I'm able to pretty much walk anywhere that I want to go. Maintenance requests get handled in a very quick manner. The apartment building has an app which makes things very convenient (ex. place maintenance request, read building news, etc). The people, in general, seem to be friendly and so are the staff. read more
