    Hot chocolate bar!
    David K.

tl;dr - good rates, lovely river views, friendly staff I was hiking Maple's Pass and wanted a place to stay the night. I found this place after looking around to find something affordably priced for an overnight stay. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and wished that we could stay longer. Check-in was very quick and access to the rooms are very straightforward since they're all in a row with only two floors. They also provide a continental breakfast in the lobby with the typical food available. One cool thing they had during our stay was a hot chocolate station! The room we booked had two queen beds and a rocking chair. Unlike most of the other options we looked at in this price range, their sink was tucked away behind a wall instead exposed and next to the bed. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony overlooking the river. We saw families of deer roaming by throughout the night and enjoyed the views of the river in the morning.

I stayed at the Methow River Lodge in Winthrop, WA over Labor Day weekend with my wife and two small children. A group of ~10 people were playing loud music, smoking, and drinking within 5-10 feet of our room. I called management around 10:15pm to request that they break up the party. I never heard back from management and the party went on until 12:30am. I tried calling management back at 11pm and several times after that to check on their attempt, but the calls went straight to voicemail and I never heard from them again. It was very clear that they did not believe providing reasonable service to their properly behaving guests was a priority and that getting their sleep was more important than the quality of their guests' stay. I do not recommend staying here because management does not care about you whatsoever as long as they get their money. It's not worth the risk of something going wrong and not having their support to fix it. You are better off staying somewhere where management cares about their customers' satisfaction.

Local deer came right up to the patio

Clean and comfortable but most important for our stay was the location. The property is right next to the Winthrop outdoor ice rink. We attend the Apple Puck and being able to walk a short distance to the rink is a blessing. Love the hot breakfast and visits from the local deer too. Friendly staff with helpful suggestions was a plus too. Draw backs- stay away from room #4 as it's loud being next to the stairs. Pop machine was out of many of the choices water and sparkling tea, someone forgot to buy the oil for the lobby popcorn machine so we were disappointed as we'd been waiting all day for the popcorn that never happened at 6pm.

Been here several times, good service and tasty burgers (juicy). Great atmosphere. New building is very aesthetically pleasing.

The rooms are nice and quiet and the view of the river melts the stress away. Less than 5 minute walk to the town center and Winthrop has so much to offer. Rooms were clean and spacious enough. There is a coffee pot with coffee, tea, and additives. They supply hair products soap and hand lotions. The slides opens to a small private deck overlooking the river. The parking lot is a rodeo for compact cars only -- if you drive anything bigger than a Mini Cooper, good luck partner. The riverside 'sitting area' is less 'tranquil escape' and more 'Botanical Exhibit: Weeds of the Northwest.' A $20 Home Depot run could have fixed it, but apparently tumbleweed chic was the design choice. The scenic walkway is cleverly positioned right in front of your windows, so the choice is either: (a) enjoy your 'river view' or (b) star in a reality show called People Watching Me in My Pajamas. The walls are so thin you'll know exactly when your neighbor sneezes, flushes, or thinks deep thoughts about life. The western theme? Let's just say it's like someone googled "cowboy wood" and gave up halfway. The mix of cedar, pine, and random lumber scraps feels less John Wayne and more Home Depot clearance bin. And the bathroom? Oh, half of it is in the bedroom. Because nothing says romance like brushing your teeth while your partner is still in bed watching you. Five stars for location. Zero stars for everything else. Would only recommend if your idea of a Wild West vacation includes thin walls, awkward parking, and bathrooms that refuse to commit to a single room.

We stayed in Cabin #12 and it was very nice. It was clean and neat. It came equipped with a full kitchen. We used the refrigerator but did not cook. There was a stack of napkins on the nook table but no paper towels available. Next time I'll remember a roll. The deck was right above the river and was very scenic. The hot tub was very useful to us and we sat in it stargazing for hours. The setting is private with privacy screens on both sides. We had neighbors on both sides of us who were also outside but all was peaceful. Good nature sounds out there. The check in procedure was flawless. It was all faceless and we never entered the office or saw any staff at all. They had our credit card number and sent us an email the day we arrived with the key box code. I'm assuming Covid prompted that procedure but it was smooth. There were a couple rocking chairs and a couch in the tv area. Under the tv was a DVD player and we watched some old Bogart/Bacall movies. Very cool. We already booked another trip next time Washington Pass is clear.

My father-in-law, following the instructions of the employee behind the counter, wrote "memorial weekend 2027" in the date section of the card. Just this last week, we received a call for confirmation of our dates, which fall after memorial weekend. The employee stated our sites were given to the next person for memorial weekend. My FIL (and his cousin) both tried to speak to someone about this situation, and were met with rudeness and total unwillingness to try and remedy the situation. The employee on the phone stated that we didn't write the specific dates, even though we were following the employees directions. We've been concerned for the last few years at the reservation process ("just write your info on this card") for the resort, and this year it shows. After over 20 years of memories, we're absolutely devastated to know we have lost our sites. In reading the reviews, we are not the only ones this has happened to.
