This is a 4 1/2 stars. The service by Amanda was 10 stars. The food was not quite that. The kids enjoyed their grilled cheese and chicken tenders. The grilled cheese was on Texas toast and very cheesy. Hubby enjoyed the grilled steak fajitas immensely. Sadly the one miss was my Philly cheesesteak. It advertised a Gouda cheese sauce but there was no sauce to it. Was expecting a dripping sauce but it was just shredded Gouda which left the sandwich dry and not edible. They were great about the allergies and checked with us several times. If the Gouda sauce had been a sauce this would've been 10/10. read more

My family and I had a great experience here. I was worried it wasn't gonna be good. Based off of reviews I had seen. We enjoyed the loaded fries appetizer, the brisket quesadilla and the fajitas. Everything was delicious. The ambience was very cool, it felt like had great service from all the wait staff. I'm assuming past bd reviews were based off not having the right employees. It happens. River Ranch Cattle Company is located in the same building as the registration when you check into the resort. It's literally right next to the registration desk. We arrived to the resort on a Friday and had a reservation for 11 guests at 6:30pm. We ended up cancelling because we were going to just wing it for dinner. Funny enough, we ended up coming back here around 8pm after line dancing at the saloon to see if the restaurant could accommodate us. They were busy but they tried to squeeze us in. They were limited on servers. We were quoted 30 minutes. We were going to walk around and check out our options when they said not to go far as they may be able to seat us and make it work within 15 minutes. Sure enough, they did. Yayyyyyy! Our server Nicki was wonderful and did her best throughout the night. I think they were short staffed in the kitchen too because we waited a long time until our food came out. I want to say we got our food about 1 hour after we ordered it. Had drinks to kill some time and they brought out bread, but the kids were exhausted and ready to crash. We didn't get our food until about 9:30pm. Yikes. Luckily, the food and service was good to make up for it. I understand they were just doing the best they could at the time. It's tough though because Westgate was almost fully booked during this Easter weekend and they were short staffed. Very unfortunate as that kills the service and wait times. I had the Brahman Bull and upgraded the tequila to Casimigos Reposado. The drink was perfectly spicy with a beautiful presentation with Tajin rim and chili threads. So damn good! For dinner, I had the Palomilla steak which was cooked perfectly at medium rare. So juicy and full of flavor. My husband got the Nashville Chicken sandwich which was meh. The bread was too thick and dry and the chicken lacked the real Nashville kick and sauce. My daughter had the French Onion soup which was way too thick and salty. I asked for hot water to tone it down and it was better but I wouldn't suggest this. We came back for breakfast on Saturday morning and the place was fairly empty but again, they were short staffed and was able to accommodate our smaller group of 7 people. Sam was our server and he was great too. The breakfast was good and took a little long but not quite as long as dinner the night before. Overall, the food and service was good but the wait times on everything was a real killer. I hope they are able to get more staff to accommodate the demand. read more

Wasn't impressed with the food. I had the steak fajitas, not sure what cut of meat they used but it was tough as nails. $2.00 up charge for a mini soufflé cup of guac. While the service was outstanding, the overall food selections were subpar. We dined here with some hesitation based on other reviews, but our wanted to give it a shot. The bread and hamburger were good even with the kitchen completely botching the hamburger order submitted by the server. The flatbread and steak were not good. The flatbread was lacking in toppings and character. The sirloin was tough and flavorless. While the atmosphere was okay, it was nothing to write home about. The service was decent but the food was really bad. Took a while to get to the table and when it finally arrived it was disappointing to say the least. We tried 3 different appetizers and 4 entrees and not a single thing was worth the price. Spinach dip watery, steak cooked the opposite of how it was ordered, green beans seemingly from a can, mashed potatoes flavorless, spicy chicken sandwich hard to eat. We all left hungry. While I'm usually really forgiving, I just can't be with this place. Hubby and I along with four friends are camping at Canopy Oaks and decided to come to River Ranch for dinner. I'm sorry we did. We ordered drinks and the cosmos were half glass pours. The onion was just ok. My steak had to go back and they brought my potato back to me in a bowl to sit and get cold while they redo the steak. My friend's steak went back twice only to come out over done. No manager came out to see exactly what the issue was. The plate presentation is sub par. Although it was odd that this was the only restaurant open on property during our stay, at least it was one with good food. The bread they give the table comes with butter and honey to dip it in and it is TO DIE FOR. The Caesar salad was a great size and very flavorful. The beef sandwich came with a horseradish sauce which could've used more of a punch of flavor but it was okay. The salmon and potato purée was one of our favorite dishes we got. They seem to be severely understaffed but the workers were very friendly. The prices are pretty high so at least you get a good size portion. If this is the only restaurant open on property I think they should add some more options, like instead of a burger with an egg and pulled pork etc, also have a normal burger option available. read more

The food is phenomenal, absolutely delicious every time! If I was reviewing food only it'd be a 5 star review for sure! Service is not so good! It's 100% understandable why the staff is jaded, cold and aloof but still needs to be addressed. For the most part, customers here are extremely entitled and very rude and demanding to the staff causing the staff to be closed off and unfriendly. During our week long stay we had several different servers, all of whom were so busy addressing the loud demanding customers that those of us quietly waiting got ignored. Not good!! Back to the food... amazing!! The fried deviled eggs are stunning, the wedge salad is perfect with the smoked pork belly and the burgers are impeccable!! Hubby's steak was cooked perfectly to order and the loaded baked potatoes heaven!! This review is for breakfast- I just came back from two trips through GA and NC and have been to restaurants who are so proud their names include biscuit etc but I can honestly say this is one is the best breakfasts we have had! I don't remember the brand of sausage they use but if you are a person who likes sausage be sure to try it! Best! The pancakes were wonderful as were the biscuits and gravy, the potatoes too... all homemade and delicious. We were there last weekend the resort was at capacity and the service was still great and attentive. It is nice to have a more high end restaurant and breakfast place at this resort! Note that breakfast is only served at this particular restaurant on Saturday and Sunday. We did eat lunch and dinner once at the River Ranch Cattle Company Restaurant as well both were very good as were the drinks at the full bar. had to wait 30 minutes after my reservation time to be seated despite the fact that their was about 15 visible empty tables. They donor have any wait are and or chairs to wait, imagine waiting with 3 kida. Had to wait about an hour for our food. This was Friday, July 5th. I decided to give it another try on Saturday, July 6th after a sold out rodeo on the property , I figured that they would be better prepared with more staff, that was a huge mistake. Our waiter Sam took our order ,he was very kind and provided great service however the kitchen is a joke, we waited over 1 hour for 2 caesar salads 2 Mac n cheese and 1 steak. I called over the manager and explained how I felt, that they are disrespectful of our time and shouldn't take in more guest unless they are prepared to serve the food in a timely manner ,he didn't have a whole lot to say but that they are traying there best. We've heard many a time over the years how wonderful Westgate River Ranch is, but our current experience is leaving us with a bad taste in our mouths.... We booked a 3 night stay in the newer RV park which is very well tended and clean. As I usually do, I attempted to choose a site based on their map to hopefully limit the noise pollution from neighbors. Unfortunately, the site I chose is right next to the maintenance yard. Now, I'm not silly enough to complain about the noise from employees coming and going as is necessary to any business, however, employees arriving at 7am with their car/truck radios blaring and booming isn't very nice. When booking (with friends aboard), we decided we'd bring food for breakfast and lunch but would eat out all 3 nights in one of the multiple restaurants available. All but 1 of the listed restaurants are closed. Now again, if this place wasn't busy, I'd understand the need to cut costs in the off season (but to not notify us is naughty), but there are loads of people here!! And the only restaurant open isn't so until 5:30pm! The closest restaurant outside the resort is 45 minutes away.... Soooo not cool!!! It's no small cost to park here, $110/night and only one pool of 3 open, 1 restaurant of 3 open. The mini golf and stores all close sometime between 4 and 5, just when it's cooling off a little. When we arrived on Thursday, NOTHING but the 1 restaurant was open. I feel as if I've fallen for a bait and switch. Had we been notified at time of booking about all the closures, we would have been prepared food and drinking water wise or may have chosen to wait to book. If you're a Disney World kind of person, you'll probably love it here during season when everything's open. This will most likely be our first and last visit to River Ranch. read more
