I love checking out and seeing the friendly young faces that work up front. One of my very first jobs was in a grocery store like this one, it brings back happy memories. I bought one labelled turkey (but I knew it was roast beef obviously) and it was a really good sandwich. Very unique with peppers, pickles and olives as toppings. They had a really nice selection of local brands, especially when it came to beer and cider. I ended up buying sugar doughnuts that I totally didn't need just because the brand was new to me. Their selection of vitamins, cleaning products, skincare, herbs, and teas is one of the best in the state for a small, local health store. In the Summer and Autumn, their selection of local produce increases. This year they have done a great job with local organic seedless watermelon and a nice variety of local organic vegetables. The dry goods section is not as expansive as one might find at a big box grocery store, which feels pretty reasonable and is even one of the reasons the store is nice.. it is a genuine, locally-opened small business.. not powering a huge space or warehouse to hold 12 varieties of one packaged item where 1 or 2 types are great. There are still many staple items to choose from. The costs I have compared are not more than the costs of items if they were ordered directly from the producers, they seem fair with prices. They are such a great addition to the area I try to think more of how I can support them instead of focusing on and criticizing minor shortcomings that most small local business face. The service is starting to become more consistent lately, with great shoppers and drivers. In the past, the shoppers were lazy, but that seems to be changing. Maybe it also helps that I set the tip at 10% and if the delivery is bad, the app lets me lower the tip, and if good the app lets me increase the tip for the driver.

The store manager, not the department manager, came over to assist and said my order should be filled. I was willing to pick it up tomorrow morning and the associate said we need a 24 hour notice. LoL The manager said, well, your going to do this now because clearly it's our error. Well, someone coming in for the shift stepped up and did it, no questions asked. She needs a raise! I appreciate that they made this right and I can't be too upset because things happen. It's just another day and people try! Lucky it's well in advance so no harm.
