This place is great! I love an old downtown pizza shop. It's fun to sit and people watch while shoving a greasy delicious pizza into my face. They have a sideshow menu with wonderful and tasty options and a heck ton of drink options. Service was standard, someone graciously taking orders at the cash register, cheerful kitchen full of teens slinging pies in and out of the oven, and another busy person running orders out to tables. The vibe was fun, exciting, noisy, but we are happy to be here. Love it! If I was a teen growing up in this town, I'd be here after school everyday. Center of town. We were just driving through on a roadtrip in the mood for a quick bite and Gerard's was perfect! It was a Tuesday afternoon so not too busy, we were helped right away. The person taking our order was very nice and the prices were very reasonable! We paid ~$26 for two small subs and mozzarella sticks. After sitting down, we pretty quickly got our food and it was delicious. Everything was fresh and hot. Very happy with the food, would come again if we are in town again! read more

Best pizza in Gardiner. Service is always fast, never had a bad pie. Prefer to dine in when we can because the pizza is a bit more solid, hot, and fresh. When you get it to go, it's a bit floppy but still delicious. Nothing to do with Gerards, just how pizza in a box works. read more

Have been going to this establishment for many years since they switched owners food been not like it used to be. Brought food back for being burnt and recently brought back two dagwoods because instead of layering they stacked. When I returned it the owner told me that's how they made them and become extremely rude. Will not return to an establishment that I can't get food re done if not satisfied with out being made to feel bad or embarrassed in a restaurant. read more

If you had asked me an hour ago, this review would be 5 stars. My family has been eating here since moving to Maine in summer of 21, sometimes once a week but never less often than once a month. Their pizza is awesome, their staff is friendly, and they normally honor the customer if something was missing or incorrect on your order. Normally. A few weeks ago we discovered that Gerard's chicken wings are also awesome! My wife and kids don't like anything spicy, so we always order mild BBQ wings and get a deep fried then dipped in sauce product. Today we ordered 20 wings and two small pizzas. Food was hot and ready on time as usual. After driving the 10 minutes back home and opening the bucket of wings, we find a breaded, dry fried batch with no sauce. Must be a mistake right? I called the restaurant and the staff member tried to explain that the way I ordered the wings was incorrect. The dry breaded no sauce BBQ are mild, and if you order spicy BBQ they get the same cooking and then a dip in hot BBQ sauce before packaging. We have ordered "mild BBQ wings" FOUR times from Gerard's and always received a saucy wing. I asked if there is any way to correct the order, and she said yes and to bring them back to the restaurant. No problem. I'm met by the owner/manager walking in. I've interacted with this man a few times before and he's always been awesome. While explaining my situation, he tried to cut me off multiple times saying "I understand what you're saying, but". I asked to finish, and his response was "In the 20 years I've owned this restaurant this is how we make wings." I said it sounds like you're saying I'm lying about the last 4 trips here, where I spend a lot of money, and I've received saucy wings. "I hear you, but this is how we make it. You must have ordered it wrong. There's no way we would have done this before." Now shocked and frustrated, I asked if there was any way to fix this. "We'll I can roll those in sauce for you, I have 4 kinds." You want to roll the now 30 minute old/cold wings in sauce and give them back to me? "I'm not re-doing them. I can put them back in the oven for you." I don't go around looking for handouts. This was the worst customer service experience I've ever had in Maine. I left the wings on the counter and said I would take my future business elsewhere. We will never go back. read more

Their Chicken Alfredo pizza is one of the best I've ever had anywhere!! And it tastes even better than it looks if you could imagine that! Just stopped by the NOW OPEN Gerard's Pizza on Wednesday afternoon and shared a 16" Fresh Dough pizza with half pepperoni and half mushroom and fresh tomatoes. It was cooked just right, piping hot and melt in your mouth taste. I enjoyed the pizza sauce, not too many herbs. We also ordered beer to compliment the pizza. I had a Sam Adams Winter Lager and my hubby had a Geaghan Bros Smiling Irish Bastard Pale Ale which he enjoyed, other beer on tap, Bud Light and Allagash White. I saw they offer coffee and a breakfast pizza and various pastries in the morning. They have Wifi and 2 tv's as well. The decor has been renovated to feature wooden beams and brick work walls. The floors are wood and the ceiling has the old tin ceilings. A nice bench seating with stools separates the dining area and order area. I spoke with Claude Caron one of the owners who has put his whole family to work and has has experience with this since he was in his teens. I wish Claude and Stacy Caron the best and was really impressed with the cuisine and will be back for more!! read more

I had never been to Gardiner before but had to pop in for work, and so of course I checked yelp for some lunch recommendations. Gerards has great reviews so I figured I'd give it a shot. This place had a warm welcoming feeling the moment I walked through the door! The staff greeted me (while wearing face shields and really respecting space) while I perused the menu. I ordered a turkey italian and chose to use the adorable outside seating, which is private and blocked off. They brought me my food and it was fresh and delicious, and the portion size was generous. I usually give out good reviews so this is unlike me. We just finished our lunch, we ordered two pizzas for the four of us. The crust is very bland, the sauce is nothing interesting, an ocean of ketchup couldn't make it taste better. I stopped eating and packed the rest for our chickens to peck at. If you like flavorful thin crust I advise greek pizza. This pizza is better than gas station pizza that's the only good thing I can say about it. read more

Had a great gluten free pizza, many salad options. The kids even enjoyed their regular pizza. This place is always busy- parking is difficult at certain times of the day being right down town. The staff was pleasant and the wait was minimal. A bit greasy so have some paper towels handy- but for a pizzeria what else can you expect? They have many beverage choices, and snack items also. It's not going to blow your socks off, but if you're looking to throw down a few slices while shotgunning a beer listening to Lynard skynard you've found the pie. This place is great I get the Fajita Wrap. Don't add mayo or anything (they will pressure you to do so) it is fine without it. The guy who I think owns it (might be Gerald) is the cook, really nice guy always asks how the food was. Don't let the looks fool you, this place is great. read more

I had always heard very good things about Gerard's Pizza over the years. Decided to try it last year. The pizza was decent but nothing spectacular. Worst of all was the experience. Very cold and unfriendly staff. We were not made to feel welcome by either the manager or the owner although the older woman at the counter, Claudette, was very sweet. Pretty chilly atmosphere. We decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt and went again. Unfortunately the second time was even worse. Will NEVER go back. I understand that it was a new owner so perhaps that was the issue. At any rate we have tried another pizza place in town and not only was the food superior to Gerard's but the staff was warm, chatty and made us feel welcome. read more

When they actually cook the pizza all the way it is ok at best but, the last two times I ordered a pizza from there it was under cooked and I had to put it in my oven at home for another 5-10 mins. Their steak and cheese subs kinda suck also. I'd rather go to dose's or dennis's. read more
