I've been in Richmond for quite sometime now and I was doing my research because I wanted to find a new dentist. I was asking my colleagues and friends which dentist they visit and River Run Dental seemed to be a very popular option. I booked my appointment online as a new patient which was an easy process! The day of my appointment I checked in and the waiting room was super packed. I thought I was going to be waiting forever, but the receptionist informed me that 1:30pm is a popular time where everyone comes during their lunch break. After about 6 minutes of waiting I was called back and greeted. I received a tour of the facility which I thought was very thoughtful. Afterwards I sat in my chair and was offered complimentary items from the Comfort Menu to make my experience more comfortable for me, but I didn't need anything. My cleaning process was actually pain free and I felt really at ease. My x-rays were explained to me thoroughly by Doctor Vinson and my cleaning technician (Becca) who were both amazing. Overall my first experience at River Run Dental exceeded my expectations! I know this is weird to say but I can't until my next appointment and I'll be referring them to anyone in need of a new dentist! read more

A great dental office with very friendly staff and very efficient system. I have been here three times and I have always enjoyed the complimentary coffee. The office opens earlier than most if you want to get a dental cleaning before starting your work day. Jessica is a great dental hygienist and I got to to briefly meet Dr. Rusnak. I hope to keep using this office as long as I live in Richmond. If you like small homey offices than this spot is not for you. The place is very hip and trendy, and feels like a spa. read more

I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!! BE CAREFUL of their billing department, VERY DECEIVING!! Also, they are ALL FAKE!! This place or company puts on a good show, but once they got you doing the work, then their true colors comes out, MONEY HUNGRY!! So, I was quoted, including insurance overage, and that I am responsible to pay X amount to do the work. I even have written documents to prove which we both signed off on. I've PAID everything in FULL, according to our contract!!About 2-3 months later, they came after me anyway for the remaining $$$ from what they quoted! I felt DECEIVED!! This was their ERROR! But they did not take responsible actions to rectify the billing issue! Instead, they DID NOTHING to help me resolve this, especially, during these hard times, but they keep sending me the bill! This company has become super difficult to do anything. It's hard to make an appointment and more recently when I made an appointment I was informed the day of that they were not willing to do a standard cleaning (only deep clean) and deep clean cannot be done while pregnant. I repeatedly asked to keep my appointment and have a standard cleanly and they were unwilling to provide that service. They are all about the $$$$. I am one of those people who has a huge dental phobia. I have a lot of fear and frankly, I'm embarrassed that I put it off for so long. My hygienist, Amy, was incredibly sweet. She did her absolute best to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. She walked me through everything she was doing, thoroughly went through my x-rays, and explained a full treatment plan for me. Dr. Sinclair was very nice and also did her best to make sure I understood what I need to do to keep my teeth in tip top shape. Most of my fear came from feeling like I was going to be judged -- I never once felt bad during my service. They did everything they could to give me the best possible experience. I highly, highly recommend this practice for anyone who is unsure about going to the dentist or anyone who wants a really serene dental atmosphere. You will not regret it. read more

I have been going to this practice for over 20 years and used to believe that it was great, however in the past few years it has become all about how much they can charge or in my case over-charge. I have had multiple instances where they have over charged me for my services. In several cases I did not realize that this was happening until my next visit 6 months later. On my most recent visit, I was given an estimate and asked to pay that amount. I suggested paying half and settling up when my insurance Explanation of Benefits came in. I received a bill from River Run that was $300 more that their estimate. When I went to the Insurance EOB it turned out that the bill was indeed $300 over charged. When I called the billing department to bring it to their attention, they argued with me and said the bill was correct. I had to email the EOB to them and they admitted the mistake and sent a new bill which I paid. A month later I received a bill for the full amount again! I called again and they told me that I had to be mistaken because they showed a zero balance. I am all for a nice pleasant office, but this practice has gone off the rails with the high end space, comfort menues, and TV advertising. I do not want to be overcharged for services to pay for all of this. I am very disappointed that I will need to find a new practice after all of this time, but I do not feel that I can trust the billing department. read more

I have been very pleased in past but a recent visit for my teenage son fell short for me. Zero communication with me as parent even though I was in waiting area. Nothing was sent home (no toothbrush, floss, etc) and no follow up appointment made. They pride themselves in having water, coffee, etc. for patients but had zero water and didn't even offer to help when asked. Very disappointed in this visit. read more

After having been a patient / client for 4+ years, you notice the changes. It's now become all about how many people they can see in a day. My last visit was for a cleaning, they needed to do X-rays I was told. The X-Ray equipment wasn't available and instead of doing the cleaning then X-Rays, they didn't do anything. Finally after X-rays were taken, I was told they DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE CLEANING. I thought it was service based, not time based. The Hygienist had recently just started there. Also, the back office personnel is constantly changing and that creates issues with billing. Got to ask oneself, why so much turnover? It used to be very good and has drastically changed. I'm upgrading my review from 2 to 3 stars after an additional two visits (three total). On my second visit, I was assigned Dr. Adler. She was exactly what I expected in a dentist; thorough and friendly. She took her time answering all questions. And my hygienist still did an amazing job. Everything else from my previous review about the environment was still true. On my third visit, I started off very pessimistic, as my appointment was rescheduled due to a newly scheduled office closing. During rescheduling, my appointment times were severely limited due to the shortened scheduling window, so I accepted an inconvenient appointment. Shortly after, I received another call that my appointment had to be rescheduled, again, because the dentist's availability changed with the addition of a new dentist and my dentist wasn't scheduled on the date of my appointment. After declining to change dentists, as I explained I didn't want to have three visits with three different dentists, they were unable to also reschedule me with the same hygienist. So, again, I accepted an inconvenient appointment, and this time, it was with a new hygienist. I would have given four stars if not for the scheduling issues. To my surprise, when I arrived for my third visit, the office was in a state of renovation. I know that brings some issues (which I did my best to overlook), but it also means they may have been changing some of the very same things about which I'd previously not found appealing. The new lobby is beautiful and very spa-like! The new Starbucks machine is a nice upgrade to the Keurig cups, although I would prefer some local Blanchard's coffee with natural sugar. I was greeted promptly and quickly taken back to my room. My new hygienist was also really thorough and friendly. Comfort items were offered, the massage chair was working and I was asked if it needed to be adjusted, etc, etc. The experience felt more like the spa experience the office was advertising (minus the renovations issues). It felt like they'd really read my review and taken it into consideration! How awesome is that?! The one thing I can say has been really consistent over all three visits is the friendly service and awesome job by the hygienists. IMHO, the place is beautiful, the people are friendly and your teeth will be squeaky clean. Give them a try and let us know how it goes! Hopefully, it keeps getting better and better! read more

Needless to say, this has to be the BEST dentist office that I have ever been a patient. The staff truly takes time with each and every patient. They take pride in knowing that each patient feels comfortable while their dental needs are addressed. If you're a techie like I am, then you won't need to pick up the phone to speak to them. You have the option to text or email. They also have an app that you can use on your phone or tablet called Patient Reach. While your dental needs are addressed, they can provide you with essential oils, neck pillow, warm blanket, warm or cold compress for your eyes, water, etc. They even serve Starbucks coffees and teas. Let's not forget about those massaging chairs to relax you even more. Did I mention how friendly everyone is? Customer service is on point, the dental staff is well versed in customer service as well. So nervous talkers & overly anxious people (like myself) no need to be embarrassed here. These folks are genuinely nice, When they smile, They mean it. Which is hard to find. If you're needing fillings but are working around either pay days, or orthodontia (sp), they handle both with ease. If you're needing an extra two days to pay on those fillings they'll take your information and set up auto withdrawal. I absolutely LOVE going to the dentist here, and that's a phrase I ~*never*~ thought I'd say. To give a brief background, prior to going to Rusnak the last time I'd been to the dentist was 2004 in Atlanta, wherein an error during a procedure resulted in a severe infection that caused me to miss a month of school. Naturally, following this event I had a major fear of dentists. In my mid-20s I moved up to RVA and gathered the strength to face my fears and see a dentist again. The staff at Rusnak was incredibly understanding and patient with me, they explained everything that was going on before it was happening, what the reason was, etc. They took a great deal of care to assuage my fears and make sure I got excellent dental care (I floss religiously so luckily I was basically good to go same for 2 cavities in my wisdom teeth I never let get pulled). The office environment is very soothing and the hygienists and dentists are all really nice. They've also added a spa menu of (almost entirely free) perks for while you're having your appointment. Aromatherapy, hot towel, complementary tablet to use, and more. It's quite luxurious. I would recommend Rusnak to everyone and anyone. They are really the best. read more

I absolutely loathe going to the dentist and have had terrible experiences, so I was committed to finding a REALLY good practice this go around. I was recommended to River Run Dental. I came in for a routine check up and cleaning (which I had held off on for years). Upon coming in, I was amazed at how beautiful the lobby was! They had snacks, La Croix, and even Starbucks coffee. Check in was easy. When I was called back, I received a tour of the office, which was great. I got back to the room and I was greeted by my hygienist, Christina. She was so warm and friendly! I even received a gift for my first visit. She showed me a comfort menu of things to make me more relaxed during my visit (blanket, neck pillow, headphones, essential oils, snacks, and even nitrous oxide). She promptly did my X Rays and Dr. Adler came to check things out. Her demeanor was kind and reassuring. She explained everything that was going on with my teeth. Next, the hygienist began my cleaning. She made sure to numb my gums thoroughly (and to my relief) before the cleaning and it was as close to painless as you can get! I couldn't believe I felt that comfortable at the dentist. Christina was amazing and my teeth felt and looked like a million bucks at the end. I am so happy I made the choice to go to River Run Dental! I would suggest this practice to everyone, especially people who have had bad experiences at the dentist before. Do yourself a favor and River Run far away from this practice. They are nothing but a bunch of scammers. I'm not even sure they are real dentists. They try to fool you with kindness using their "comfort menu" but that should be a full-on warning. They just want money. Plain and simple. They don't care about doing the right thing and simply just help me take care of my teeth. The fact that they have a "financial advisor" should've sent me packing. They up-charge you to death and give false information about what needs to be done. Half of the time the billing is wrong and they will do anything to get money from you instead of your insurance. Do yourself a favor and NEVER EVER use this fraud of a dentist, especially for any major dental work. It's only a matter of time before they are shut down for their unfair and deceptive business practices-- all kinds of UDAAP violations going on here. I've already reported them to CFPB, BBB and will report to anywhere else that needs to know about this "business". I've never been so upset and felt so mistreated by a "medical professional" in my whole long life. Any positive reviews have got to be lies or employees. I'm someone who has never enjoyed going to the dentist, but my experience here was incredible. It was very seamless setting up a visit for a cleaning. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Lauren is who did my cleaning and she was gentle and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire visit. Dr Adler was fantastic and provided an exam at the end. Let's start with the fact that I had to pay after insurance $680 for a filling that now has a big hole in it and a cap that is on a tooth that has the whole left side of my face in pain. You guys. Wow. Just wow. I was so blown away by this place. I went for my first appointment and could not believe the service, attention to detail, and knowledgeability I encountered. First of all, the hygienists, front desk staff, and dentists were incredible. Not once did I ever feel like they were rushing me out, like I can sometimes feel at my primary care doctor's office. They took their time, were attentive, and answered all of my questions. Also, they sell SoniCare brush heads for those of you who are always trying to find them around the Richmond area! I was also surprised to receive a double-walled and insulated stainless steel mug too. This place was full of surprises! I saw Dr. Rusnak and Kaitlyn when I was there and I think the world of them! The millennial dental shop that is basically a spa. No lie, there is a "menu" they give you which includes essential oils, blanket, neck pillow, chapstick and more. Moving to Richmond, it was a challenge to find a dentist that 1. was in my network and 2. was taking new patients. I called and emailed dentists for months to no avail. Then River Run Dental was recommended to me over Yelp. First call and I actually spoke to a person who was happy to schedule me for a new patient appointment.
