Christmas time at River Run Village is just MAGICAL!! River Run Village is the Eastern base area at Keystone Ski Resort. ++ Ton's of amenities including various equipment rental/retail stores, restaurants (Kickapoo Tavern, The Crepe Stand, Pizza on the Run, etc...), coffee shops (Starbucks and Inxpot), and more! ++ You can catch the River Run Gondola and the Summit Express lifts to take you up the mountain. Lots of blue runs (for those intermediate skiers/boarders) on this side of the mountain! ++ FREE parking at the Montezuma parking lot!! ++ There's even a small outdoor ice skating rink in Dercum Square! ++ River Run Village at night is GORGEOUS! Def worth sticking around for a couple cocktails to see!! Seeing that the BF and I have a biennial tradition of hitting up Keystone at Christmas; I'm sure that we will make our way back to River Run Village again for the holidays!

Great place to have a wedding. Quaint area with limited food options. Great for biking and skiing.

We also took advantage of the snow tubing and lifts to the top of the mountain.

First and foremost, please disregard the incorrect reviews that talk about dinner service, wait…read morestaff, etc. Those reviews are incorrectly attached to Outpost Lodge when they were meant for Keystone's restaurant Alpenglow Stube in the same building. Outpost Lodge is your run of the mill ski lodge on top of a mountain, i.e. cafeteria, incredibly expensive, warm. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could, but can't go to four for two reasons: 1) The bathrooms, while nice and with warm water at the sinks, are down two flights of stairs, which makes for a painful and dangerous trek when wearing ski boots. 2) I can take high prices, or inadequate seating, but not both. If you're going to charge $10 for a beer, $7 for a cookie, $25+ for a typical lunch, then at least have enough seating capacity to accommodate your lunch surge. It's pretty frustrating to get a hot bowl of admittedly good fresh soup, only to stand around until it's cold waiting for a seat to open up. As far as the food options go, this lodge is actually pretty good with selection. They have all the carbs you could want between a candy bar and bakery area with fresh / warm cookies, brownies, breads, etc. They have the typical grilled options (burgers, chicken, etc.) They have a very good soup selection that comes in huge bowls to fill you up and warm you up. You will pay for it of course, you're on the top of a mountain, but hey, it's still half the price of the food served at Amalie Arena in Tampa. The real issue is seating at peak times; you'll never find any. If you're hopefully in a party of more than one, I'd recommend finding seats first, and having one person keep your seats and gear safe, while the other gets the food, because otherwise you're going to be standing around while your food goes from hot to cold.

He explained everything in a way that was simple and easy to understand, which made a huge difference for me as someone who was basically starting fresh. Even though I had skied once a long time ago, I was pretty nervous but Dillon helped build my confidence so quickly. What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared. He constantly checked in to make sure everyone was feeling good, warm enough, and keeping up. He also went above and beyond by staying with our group longer than scheduled just so we could experience going up the ski lift, which meant so much and made the lesson even more memorable. On top of being a great instructor, Dillon was super knowledgeable about the resort and shared helpful tips that made the whole experience even better. I would highly, highly recommend Dillon to anyone especially beginners. If you get him as your instructor, consider yourself lucky! He truly made my experience unforgettable.

There was basically no snow/ice removal starting a few feet from the front steps. Sleep quality here was mediocre. Even though we were on the far side of the hotel, we could hear workers randomly yelling as they arrived in the morning and the same godawful playlist from the village (I think?) starting at 7 AM sharp every day. I don't think I saw a single member of custodial staff the entire time we stayed here. Seemed to be a bit of a free for all with dumb people drinking from glass bottles in the hot tubs, wet towels strewn about the common areas at 9 AM the next day, and an awful smell permeating from the steam room. Still kind of worth it for the cheap price but feels just like the resort itself, like perpetual college night at Killington in Vermont.

Each of the condos at the Springs are individually owned, so some units have been renovated. My remarks are about unit 8825 which is a 1BR with a sleeper sofa. The bed was a double, not Q or K.
