There were 4 in our group and we were paired with a couple other parties for a total of 7 or 8. Our instructor was super friendly and helpful, made sure we were safe and showed us all the best spots/views. It was cold at the top, so be sure to bundle up! 2 hour was the perfect duration for us as we started to feel the cold and tire out/get hungry. Our tour guide was Caleb and he was really patient with the group that got there late and to make matters worse, they didn't speak English so he had to explain things slowly in order for them to understand the necessary information. They slowed us down because they didn't understand what they were doing but all in all, Caleb made it up to us and we had a great time. The snowmobile tour itself had some good moments, but the overall experience was disappointing. The staff member who checked us in was not very pleasant, which set a negative tone from the start. The ride to the snowmobile area was long and boring, with no music or conversation to make it feel welcoming or exciting. When we returned from the tour, the same staff member was loudly arguing with other customers. The way the situation was handled felt unprofessional and made the environment very uncomfortable. The equipment process was also concerning. Helmets, boots, and snow gear were being reused immediately without any visible cleaning or sanitizing. It was uncomfortable knowing I wore gear that appeared dirty, especially considering we paid for this experience. The self-guided portion of the tour was the highlight. We appreciated being able to control our time and stop for photos. The scenery was beautiful. However, the snowmobiles themselves were old. This was an EXCELLENT experience! We signed up for an early morning 2-hour snowmobile tour. Hubby and I each had our own snow mobiles and we were in a tour group with 8 other people/4 other snow mobiles. Our group was expertly led by Snowmobile Steve. He took us through the safety steps and operation instructions before the group set out, and even gave some pointers on how/when/where to use the restroom along the way if needed. He was careful to check regularly to ensure we were all still following. At key points throughout the tour, he stopped long enough for us to all take pictures and gave us some history of the mountain and the area. Had a great time riding snowmobiles for my birthday on the unguided tour. Initially I thought guided would be best because I never rode before but ended up being so happy that we ended up on the unguided tour so we could ride at our own pace and stop when we wanted. The staff was friendly and helpful. I also liked the location of the office where the unguided tours are better because they have indoor plumbing and restrooms versus porta potties. My key piece of advice would be to be on time for your appointment. My wife and I did a snowmobile outing with John Weekley and had an amazing time! Weekley did a perfect job explaining all the functionality of the snowmobiles and going over safety instructions and hand signals in a clear and concise manner. I think this level of experience was important in giving our group a sense of comfort and confidence on the snowmobile. Since our group was so well up to speed, we were able to do every trail that was open to the snowmobiles -- through the trees, on more open trails where you could pick up speed, and we even got to do the bowl where you could see the contiental divide. Holy cow..... this was a GREAT experience! We reserved a three hour snowmobiling tour with Grand Adventures on 1.2.2021 and had the pleasure of a great day, from start to finish. This team is well oiled, friendly and very attentive to each group coming through. The sign in process was quick and easy and before we knew it, we were fitted with boots and helmets. Safety first, y'all! Matt S was AMAZING. It's incredibly apparent that he enjoys his job, enjoys people and keeping everyone safe while also providing a fabulously fun time. We had 7 machines in our group, my partner and I riding our own machines. We choose to ride behind Matt S (to drive/ride a little faster than say the last few snow mobiles). Even with a decently large party, we had a blast! Three hours is perfect to ride through straight aways, single tracks, hills, a few small jumps here and there and to come upon the views!! OMG, the views! Matt said many times, this view will "blow your mind," and man, was he right! My partner was a beast on his machine and while I like to think I'm an evel knievel, getting to 50 MPH was just right for me, lol. Matt's pace was perfect - he checked in with us often and made sure everyone felt comfortable, that we were aware of tighter turns, drop offs, tighter tracks, everything. So thoughtful. It was a great tour until it wasn't. We had a big group and enjoyed the 2 hour ride. Unfortunately our guide (Cory) ruined the whole experience for us at the end by demanding more tip money. We tipped Cory handsomely, at least we thought we did, but apparently he saw it differently. When returning our equipment, Cory proceeded to harass us for 10-15 minutes asking for more tip money, he wouldn't let it go. He took it so far that we decided to walk away before the situation escalated. He made the entire group incredibly uncomfortable. We wanted to purchase the photos, they looked great, but Cory's behavior forced us to leave the area. They charge you $300+ to rent the snowmobile for 2 hours, all the "guide" does is lead the way on a single file, nothing special for the price you pay. Cory demanded 20% tip on top of the rental fee, in other words $60 per machine. We rented 5 snowmobiles, he DEMANDED us to tip him $320 on top of the $1,600 we had already paid. He was extremely unprofessional, entitled, rude, arrogant and disrespectful. We will not be returning or referring them to anyone we know. Cory ruined the entire experience. read more

I hate to be negative because there are a bunch of good reviews but we went with a group of 9 people (two kids) and our tour guide ruined our experience. The ride and views we're great. The snowmobiles were in good condition as well. (This is the only reason why they are getting three stars.) At the end of the tour some of my friends were giving tips/ other we're in the process and he made a very rude comment. We were planning to go to a restaurant and asked him what he recommended and he said the restaurant name and proceeded to tell our whole group to not go cheap on the tip... we all sat there confused because two people have him $40 in cash and the other people were going to tip him through Zelle/Venmo. We all sat there asking who tipped what and he came back to our group stating again that we were being cheap with the tip. The tour was great but it made everyone feel so uncomfortable and ruined the trip. We were planning on tipping more and purchasing the photos which we didn't and walked out because of obvious reasons. They gave us discount cards to give to others and we will be trashing them and not recommending this place. read more

Beginners beware!! I'll start by saying the snowmobiling itself was fun, although a little scary if you've never done it before. The views were beautiful and I can appreciate a challenging activity. What ruined this experience for me was the tour guide, "snowmobile Steve"." They start the tour off with instructions including "never drive faster than you feel comfortable with." I purposely chose a snow mobile in the back because there were some experienced riders on the tour and I didn't want to hold anyone up if I couldn't keep up. I payed just as much as everyone else and was trying to enjoy my time while also feeling as safe as possible. I drove anywhere from 16-33 mph depending on how sharp turns were and how steep slopes were. Another rider in my group that was considered faster drove 36mph max. So I wasn't too far off. Every time I caught up to the tour guide he would make some passive aggressive comment about us taking too long. I still remained positive and laughed at his jokes etc. the tour kept going on and he told us that we were all going off onto a ravine that was more difficult than what we had started with. I didn't feel super comfortable but still just went along with it (It was pretty difficult for me, but fun nonetheless). After that he told the group, "you're all excellent snowmobilers! Well... most of you." That comment was obviously directed at myself and the other people in the back (my husband who had our 5 year old daughter as his passenger). That comment was unnecessary and definitely hurt my confidence. Still didn't say anything. At the end of the tour he said "make sure you guys tip if you felt like you learned something, had fun, or I spent a lot of time waiting for you." Another comment directed at me. When we parked and got off the snowmobile the faster person in my party asked me what was the fastest speed I went. I said on the flat parts I hit 33mph. Snowmobile Steve literally butted in and said "no she didn't!" I was so confused why he was being so mean for no reason, and for someone who was already nervous his comments and condescending attitude made the experience rough. My advice is if you're going to market your tour as scenic and family friendly then don't berate your customers who aren't as fast as more experienced riders. Side note, he also yelled at people multiple times for looking at their phone briefly & yelled at my husband for looking down at my daughter when she called for him during instructions. I understand it's important to hear safety instructions but he was just unreasonable, rude, & condescending. The photographer & the woman working in the office were both helpful and nice, however. Our tour was led by the instructor Cory, who informed us of all safety protocols, while also throwing in a sense of humor. He was friendly and made sure to take stops along the way to allow our groups to take pictures. He also made short stops to inform us when we were about to enter a more difficult part of the trail. What a freaking great time! I totally recommend this to anyone who's looking to do snow activities in addition to the usual snowboarding or skiing. We did the two hour continental tour with Ryan Wiese and he was truly an amazing guide and went above and beyond to keep us safe and comfortable. I've never done this before so I was nervous but this is beginner friendly. The pace isn't too fast and he stops to make sure everyone's OK throughout the ride. The views are gorgeous, it was stunning up in the mountain. They rent out goggles and gloves if needed, the helmet and boots are included in the reservation. The check in process was smooth. It's an hour and a half out from Denver so it's close enough that you can go back and forth between the two. They have a photographer who takes pictures of you at the start and during the tour so you get some nice action shots. Photos are affordable to purchase. This is the spot to book if you want a snow mobile tour. We booked online. Instructions were clear and directions provided were easy to find. Upon arrival, we were quickly fitted with a helmet and provided safety instructions. Our tour guide Joe was super funny and very knowledgeable. Not the best cameraman, but offered to take photos. The tour was amazing with great views and great history lessons. Tour was about 2 hours and we were able to go at various speeds to test out the snow mobile. The trails were nice and safe. This was the highlight our our winter park trip! We paid about $200 for a tandem ride. The tour guide let us switch seats if I wanted to drive. Putt-Putt the guide was amazing! He was funny and friendly and SAFE! There was about 10 mobiles that were convoying to the top of the continental divide. The views were amazing. It's great for family and kids. They give you complimentary pants and helmets but you need to bring your own goggles and gloves or else you'll have to rent from them. There are various trails that we took and we stopped at the end of each trail for a head count. If you are in winter park and don't want to ski or snowboard, you should definitely try snowmobiling!
