We stayed one night in the RV Park and LOVED IT!!! it was hot August night so booked but the check in was outstanding! Super friendly and definitely would recommend!

We just left here after a 3 night stay. It's a wonderful park on the river. Access to the river walk and downtown is 0.53 miles and very convenient if you're a runner like myself. My husband, dogs and I loved it there. Shady spots and nice people! We will be back!

Another view from our camp site.

This is one of the most serene RV resorts on the Truckee River in RENO NV. The staff is the most friendly, welcoming, helpful customer service oriented crew I have ever had the pleasure to deal with... They are very informative. From the manager to the security. Day crew Becca & Adrian are wonderful!. Kim is the night staff whom is very friendly funny and entertaining. This is great place for everyone. We came here last year for the first time and will return every year forward. The cleanliness and we'll maintained Resort is a welcomed change. We give them a rating of 5 STAR. Thank you for a wonderful stay

The beautiful Truckee River right out my RV door.

Greeter Kim was amazing! She met us and helped with the site and told us about the Resort. She is a kick, so lively, funny and just made us feel like this was a great RV Resort to pick.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Every time we ran into staff, they greeted us with a friendly wave and smile! They go around in carts to make sure everything is running smoothly. We had an issue with bees and they came within 5 minutes to help resolve the issue. Everything is clean and there are cute areas to sit and relax in. Packages were able to be delivered and some areas had private gates. There weren't any issues with any homeless people by the river (we never even seen any homeless people at the river like other comments we read). It's located near grocery stores, gas stations, and fast food places. We're definitely coming back again.

This place was so so amazing. The camp host Brad was an absolute Legend giving us knowledge about areas near by and some History. Beautiful grass areas and the river had multiple areas to relax and meet wonderful people. Manager was so nice and kind and asked how things were going and if we needed anything. Our cats loved it. Checkout these beautiful pictures.

Site #14. Only 50 amp so bring a converter or rent one from the office for $20.

Wow. What a find. Right in the heart of Reno yet very peaceful and filled with nature and trees. Full hook ups. Beware that this is an old park so you'll need lengthy sewer hoses and water hoses. Very easy to find. It's less than a mile from 80. Helpful and kind front office. We love this place already and we've not even been here 24 hours. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome. The bathroom and showers were amazing. Laundry facility was fantastic. Will stay here again. Everyone we talked to were great, nice and quiet. And the sound of the river was beautiful.

Very friendly staff and neighbors. The resort lines the truckee river and is beautiful! Many long term sites are fenced in and private for a month to month stay. We were sad to leave..As they are doing construction and lots of improvements to the property! Noise was never an issue and we felt right at home.

What a lovely, clean, safe place to stay! We spent one night here in a spot backed up to the river. What a beautiful view! Checking in was easy, we were walked right to our spot by such a nice and friendly man who was a co-owner of the resort. I took a morning walk all around the park early this morning. It was quiet, very clean, and felt very safe. The park was full, some travelers some residents, but everyone had beautiful clean spaces, no clutter around anywhere. There are plenty of trash and around but there was no sign of bugs or critters or what you can find at campgrounds. We used the bathrooms, including the showers. They were also clean and did not disappoint with supplies: full length mirrors, combination lock on the main entry door and all the stalls and shower, and plenty of soap and towels at the sink. The shower stream was strong and there was plenty of hot water, a camper treat! We will definitely suggest this place to friends and come back if we come this way again.

We had # 10 and it is probably the best site , you can't get your tent any closer to that creek. I would recommend #7, #10and # 25 for creek access, #9 is also a great spot but I believe it's first come first served only. I saw a few beautiful trout pulled out of the creek in the evenings when the sun is setting and the bugs come out! Don't bother fishing in the middle of the day, I'd say early morning till 9:00am and evenings after 7:00pm. The creek is an awesome place to hang on a hot day, lots of shade from the trees, water was pretty chilly in late June, quite a bit colder than the Truckee River but definitely worth doing a cold plunge or two!! No showers but they do have flush toilets and water spigots. A picture is worth 1000 words so I'll let my pictures speak for themselves......

It's more like sleeping outside, which is totally cool, but you still want to have that feeling of being off-the-grid, away from it all, in the midst of nature. With more people enjoying the activity these days, that is getting harder and harder. So for those of us seeking the traditional camping experience, we need to be a lot more selective, picking sites that provide privacy, plenty of personal space, and a natural setting we can enjoy. The Chilcoot Campground is just a few miles outside of the Frenchman's Lake Recreation Area, and approx. 5 miles up HWY 284 from the turn off Highway 70, about 40 minutes from Reno. It's heavily shaded by towering trees, offers large sites, and has flush toilets and running water too. If that isn't enough reason to stop here, the campground also has several amenities that make it a whole lot of fun. For starters, Little Last Chance Creek runs the length of the campground, and there are even sites that back right up to it. It doesn't move that fast, so swimming and wading are both options, and there are even some small brook trout to be caught, if you have the patience. There's also a path that runs along the creek, offering everyone in the campground access to the water. The path eventually takes you out of the campground, following the creek, offering some opportunities to get a bit of privacy from the other campers, and there are some great pools just outside that looked perfect for swimming! This campground has sites available through online reservation, but also offers first-come first-served sites as well, which is a rarity in CA. Some sites border the highway, which I wouldn't recommend, but many are partially secluded and nicely separated from the neighboring sites. Each one has a picnic table, fire ring, and you'll find a water spigot nearby for rinsing water too. The sites that border the creek are primo, as are the others on the far end of the campground, so check online to see what's there. We stayed in site 13, which was sweet! The front area was well situated with the picnic table placed appropriately, where it would receive the most shade, with the fire ring right next to it. We had ample room to setup our large camp stove, and our supplies. The site also had two large areas to setup tents, both of which were pretty well surrounded by trees, which blocked the views of other campers in adjacent sites and kept the tent cool in the hotter times of the day. On top of all this Mike, the Camp Host, was AWESOME! He really treated the whole place like it was his baby and made sure every inch was clean and clear, and guests felt right at home. I've passed this campground a million times before, but I'll never make that mistake again. It's a whole 15 minute drive to get from there to the far end of Frenchman's for fishing access, and a lot less people than in the Lake's campgrounds, meaning you can really enjoy relaxing there.

It's a hidden gem, compared to more popular, overcrowded nature areas. Mike and Brandi were super responsive and helpful via text and in person. It truly is a family business so always happy to support that. We stayed at one of the two campsites and it seems like, at least when we were there, the rest of the RV park folks there were mostly chill, quiet seniors. We helped ourselves to free hot showers (!!!!) and had the sparkling clean restrooms pretty much to ourselves the entire weekend. Nice hiking trail on their property, games and activities available if you choose. We chose to SUP, check out all the pretty lakes in the area. Highly recommend this campground, will visit again.

Only complaint is Dale and the boys working on their trucks ALL NIGHT LONG. I don't know what they were on but it rhymes with Shmeth. People actually live on the SE side of the campground so unless you're in to tweakers banging on things all night, don't stay on that side of the campground. Super loud metal on metal and welding and grinding. I didn't plan on staying at an auto shop but here we are. So we have to be quiet after 10 but they can rage all night? No thanks I do appreciate the care that the owners have put in to this spot, again, super clean and very well maintained. It is often simply used as overflow for the latter. However, although much smaller than Gold Lake, it is no less beautiful, and the lack of motorized watercraft give it a quieter, more serene appearance. Not camping at the time, we were simply looking for a nice lake to have a picnic by that was accessible by car. In the Lakes Basin area, in spite of what everyone says, this is no mean feat. The forest service seems to assume that the great majority of users have four-wheel-drive vehicles anyway, so no sense wasting money fixing the multitude of hazardous potholes on seemingly every access road. At this campground, we took one look at the dirt campground road and its giant potholes, and aborted an attempt to drive in. Fortunately, off the highway just south of the entrance is a large dirt area to park, fairly devoid of holes, that had a walk-in path to the campground and the lake. Goose Lake is a short walk from that parking area, and if you don't mind sitting on a rock, there is an abundance of beautiful areas to have lunch by and enjoy the water. Even if you only have a short amount of time, Goose Lake is worth a visit. The campground is small, with only 13 spots, and was quite quiet during our midday visit. The big disadvantage to this campground: no water. You would probably need to make visits to nearby Gold Lake and refill water supplies. The vault toilet was clean and relatively odor free. The daily camping fee is only $10, and does not take reservations. To reach the campground, go south on Highway 89 from Graeagle for 2 miles, then proceed south for 12 miles on the Gold Lake Highway. Definitely a four star for day use, but potholes and the lack of water knocks it down a star for camping...
