There's no room to park or hang out at the picnic table without bumping into your neighbor on both sides. It seems like most full-timers live towards the back. The facilities are decent, including laundry, bathrooms, and showers. The dog park is a bit of a letdown. It's a sandbox and not very clean. I've seen dog owners not pick up after their dogs' poop. It's smells bad. Did I mention poor reception for ATT? I think this whole area. Overall, this place works for a quick stopover, but there are some issues that need to be addressed.

The playground is the same playground found at several other parks in Sparks. There is a large play structure and a small play structure. Wood chips are underneath the playground. There are no swings at this park. The park was clean but the parking lot was surprisingly dirty. There was a lot of trash on the ground. It has security and someone is available on site for those coming in after hours or who may need assistance. The long term stay area has a community full of nice and respectful people, which gives the park a nice, safe, and friendly neighborhood feel. The spaces offer a good sized lot with parking, and many have fences for pets and privacy. Most all have mature trees among them. There's a nice, shady, grassy area to enjoy a picnic or for lounging, a patio area for sitting and enjoying the view of the Truckee River and Idlewild Park. It's located close to everything Reno has to offer. Whether you just need a space for the night or somewhere to stay a little longer, this park really is a hidden gem for those wanting a friendly, conveniently located, peaceful and quiet stay.

Can't say enough great things about this little hidden gem…read more My hubby and I usually book our campsites as we go based on our eta, weather, pit stops, etc. As hubby drove yesterday, I looked on Yelp and found a little site just outside of Reno along the river that looked promising. I tried to book online but it wouldn't let me so I called the number and spoke to a very pleasant woman who took my reservation over the phone and even offered me a first responder discount! Upon arrival, they were set up for after hours check in and very organized and timely. Chris, the security officer guided us right to our site and was very pleasant. Our site was a premium river side set up that did not disappoint! We backed up to the river with lush trees and greenery all around. There's a beautiful patio with chairs, tables and Edison string lights overlooking the river where we would sip our drinks after a long day of traveling and watch the geese and ducks in the river. There's also a couple of benches and fire pits established for campers to use. There are long term residents throughout the park, and some sites are pretty close together so we were very lucky to have gotten a premium, roomy luxurious site at last minute. We definitely recommend paying the little extra for a river front site. Site 11 & 12 are the best! PS: the staff is very responsive to texts and questions and they were a delight!

We found River's Edge and it worked for us. Monthly rent is reasonable, swimming pool, mail boxes, allowed our 19 yo motorhome to rent here. The manager is on site from 7 am to 3pm, M-F. She told us which site was available. We were able to park during the weekend then I did the lease and payment on Monday. It is along the Truckee River. This place is ideal for out of town workers who need a place to stay with their RV. It is a budget friendly option. It is off a busy street and in the path of Reno Airport, which doesn't bother us since we are from the San Francisco Bay Area. This is white noise for us.....lol. We were lucky to get the last spot. If you want to see about availability you need to go to the office in person from 7 am to 3pm.

Lo and behold the next morning in the spot next to our friends was a travel trailer the same size as ours if not smaller! A lot of full timers here as well. Not my cup of tea. I needed to use the bathroom this morning and there was no AC in the bathrooms! It has been triple digits here in Reno and I can't imagine using bathroom during the heat of the day. We will never come here again. The KOA in Boomtown was much nicer. We would have stayed there but we wanted to be with our friends.

Th city of Sparks does a nice job in their public spaces…read more I recently walked across this park while hiking the Tahoe Pyramid Trail - Sparks Section. This decent sized city park sits between the Truckee River and 777 Spice Island. It is well shaded with flat areas and small hills. Lots of nice picnic tables, some with coverings. A few benches. A couple of horseshoe pits. It a quiet beautiful spot with the sound of the river splashing by. Maybe a good idea to try fishing here. Pets are welcome, but should be on leash. It is also posted the leash not be more than 6 feet long. There are a couple of spots to pick up poop bags, in case you forgot one. But you should never leave home without several. And plenty of cans are available for bags and picnic trash. Since the trail does run along the edge, be aware of bicyclists and joggers.
